THE END OF THE SAIYAJIN / BLOOD IN THE SAND 3

Chapter 3: Challenge

Samten snorted, then the strange aura disappeared and the strength also dried up. He slowly slipped to the ground and passed out. Despite her age, Groka immediately rushed to him and some girls also looked after the fallen Jolin. The old lady knelt beside him on the sand and grabbed his hand. His whole body was smeared with blood and his pants were completely torn, because attacks from Koden had also hit him. The evil creature lay there mutilated and was breathing heavily and every other time it uttered a pitiful, wailing sound. The nostrils rose and fell, but all bones were broken, twisted, or torn out. You could really ask yourself who was the bloodthirsty creature, the bear, or velvet.

"You fought well ..." the old woman admitted and looked down at him kindly, "... but if someone was so beaten up, couldn't one confuse what is good and bad?Fighting is never the solution! "

Boys' den 2 was just as spacious as the others and, despite the many torches on the wall, only sparsely lit. The unconscious Son had been placed on a cloth on a stone and water was poured into it through a funnel. Meanwhile Groka let the boys and girls practice archery. The tendons buzzed and the arrows pierced the targets. Farther over there was skilful fighting and lessons on building dynamite. This was one of the few advanced weapons the desert people possessed.

"Is everything ready?" Jolin asked his brother Dautan. He shrugged and said:

"What are you doing such a riot? I don't know when we want to leave?"

"Tonight at five!" Jolin explained to him in a domineering voice, "We'll take the new guy with us!"

"Why then?He is injured and has to recover first! "

"Never underestimate your opponent!" said the other stiffly and looked over at Velvet, "Didn't you see how he finished the code?"

"Sure," the Dautan tried further, "but he's still a child!"

"And children have to be trained!" argued Jolin and turned away, "Tonight we start the attack on the adults, tonight!" he repeated, wearing a dark green ranger cloak. He let the hood hang low over his forehead and took a belt with a sword from a hook.

"Where are you going?" asked whoever had found Velvet and ran after him.

"I'm riding to boys' den 1! Greyroman is waiting for me there!"

Boys cave 1 was in a small forest on the edge of the desert and was teeming with animals. Jolin had ridden all night and his mount was a bonkatur, a gray, tame minnisaur with large feet and good-natured eyes.He broke into the forest and the dinosaur stepped on soft, cold moss. It used to be something different than this hot sand all the time and the sun was only let in bits and pieces through the canopy. Tall trees towered into the sky, and thick ferns and bilberries grew on the ground. The bushes had been harvested and now appeared empty and bare. The guard dismounted and snapped his fingers as a sign that the bonk door might warp. Sullenly, it trudged into the thickening undergrowth and began to look for any sweet berries that were still there. Purposefully, Jolin marched towards a large, rotted tree trunk and meanwhile pulled back the hood. For now he stopped and looked around. When there was no sound to be heard, he pushed the stump aside and climbed into a dark, confusing hole in the earth. When he got to the ground, he closed the stump over himself and lit a small torch. In contrast to the second caves, these were drawn with a wall of roots and earth. The ground was full of leaves, straw and moss, a mixed bag of rubbish and compost. A musty smell filled his nostrils and he stopped. Something was wrong here and he couldn't hear any voices as usual. With a slight clink he drew his weapon, a Saracen sword, and took a step forward, repeatedly examining the surroundings.

Suddenly he heard soft music coming from one of the hallways. Someone is playing the pan flute here, thought Jolin, and walked a little faster to the place where the music seemed to come from.

The way led him through many corridors and an uncomfortable feeling spread in his stomach area. Eerie cold also played its way easily through the corridors and felt around the intruder. The path just turned a corner and Jolin would only need to take one more step to be at the source, but the song suddenly failed and seemed to reverberate from another place. First the guard jumped around the corner and faced an empty room with a leafy throne in the middle.Ivy vines were wrapped around pillars and objects. A broken glass was let into the upper roof of the hall and the sun's rays shone through a built-in lens especially on the throne. Again the strange music stopped and there was silence in all the corridors. After a few breaths, Jolin took a few steps towards the throne. Somehow he was tired and the sweat ran down his forehead with cold pearls. He even shivered. Heat stroke? Nobody would ever know ...

The guard slowly dropped onto the throne and closed his eyes. When he opened it again, a small man was standing in the entrance archway. He wore a black cloak and a wide hat with a cuckoo feather. He had straw-blond hair and a yellow stalk stuck in his mouth. A broad grin spread over his face and said with a smile, but in a firm and serious voice:

"I challenge you, Superintendent Jolin!" without waiting for an answer, he added:

"But first close your eyes and then open them again, then you will see where all the boys have gone!" The guard did as he was told and read his eyelids for a short moment in order not to keep his opponent out of his eyes longer than necessary to let go, but when he opened it with smiling confidence, he was overcome with horror. Scattered all over the room, corpses were rotting. Every part of her body was torn and bleeding badly. His breath came a little faster, but then he tried to hold it back again.

"Who are you?" he drooled defiantly. Again the stranger grinned:

"I?" he asked in amusement, pointing his finger at himself, "I am only the master of illusions, Carl Versen!" The master shot at Jolin with his outstretched dagger as fast as an arrow and without him being able to defend himself in the least, bored himself the blade deep in his chest and he was dead instantly ...

Samten woke up and was immediately met by Johenni.

"How are you? Did you sleep well?" She grinned happily at him and came dangerously close to him. "By the way, you were baptized Son Koden! Because you killed the bear!" Son was just about to answer something when something flashed through him.

"Jolin ..." he stammered and straightened up completely, "Something happened to him!" He was just about to put on a desert suit when he turned back to Johenni. It was like he thought it was impolite to just leave her there, but one question too many had slipped out of his mouth and apparently pressed the girl:

"Where's Jolin!" he grabbed her arm tightly. The young lady was scared:

"In the south ..." she stammered, "At the first boys caves!"

"Well!" thanked her Koden and called to the other boys: "Jolin is in danger! We have to leave immediately!" Since Groka was not there at the moment and most of them were adventurous, they took chain mail, leather armor, helmets, spears, arrows and knives with them .This lunchtime, Samten would see his vision confirmed ...

Finished again? Well, it was long enough! To LittleChi: Because I'm reading Dragonball Z vs. Diablo and I notice that Karina is inclined to Goten, I don't want to change his mind and that of the others, just so that mine is correct, so I better shut up!
