Fanfic: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

with Cal he had rebuilt a large part. He had faced his first past.

Quietly, with suppressed sobs, Maron unlocked the door of the Kame House. The island was dark in the middle of the sea, the full moon shone in the firmament. Now that the rain had stopped, she felt the cold, spreading like purgatory inside her.All of her clothes were wet to her body. While she was flying home, she was practically flying straight into the downpour. At first she was afraid, especially since she hadn't been able to fly for long. She had only learned it shortly before her best friend was kidnapped, it was the only thing her father had taught her about martial arts. But now she despised him, felt anger grow in her. If he had taught her all the other tricks, she might have saved Bra. They were complicit in their eyes for making all of this happen.

She entered hesitantly, as if afraid to come home. The living room was dark, but she could see movement on the sofa. The lights were turned on and blinded her while her mother looked at her in amazement.

"You already here? I thought the concert was going to take longer." C-18 got up and looked at her daughter with worried eyes. Her eyes rested on the red eyes and the wet clothes.

Marron turned away. "Yes, normally, but because of the rain they had to stop ..." She wanted to slip past her mother, as she had always done since the kidnapping. She didn't feel like listening to the instructive comments from her parents, because Bra will be found again.

"Was it nice?" continued drilling C-18.

"Yes, very nice. Sorry Ma, but I'm tired ..." she pushed her mother a little to the side, wanted to run past her to her room on the first floor, but she had done the check without C-18.

"Apparently not too tired to cry. Damn Marron, I'm worried about you, don't you get it!"

"No!" shouted the blond-haired girl. "I don't get it, just leave me alone and don't pretend I need your help. I can manage on my own!"

“I can see that, darling.” C-18 sighed while her gaze remained on the girl. She tried in vain to mix the confidence in her voice that Maron might be missing after Bras' kidnapping."It's not your fault, Marron, this Taylor has been planning this for a long time, you wouldn't have had a chance against him even if you could fight."

"I could at least have tried, I could have surprised him. But you denied me this gift. Everyone can fight, even Pan, why not me, even though both of my parents can ??" she shouted at her mother.

"So you think it's all your dad and my fault?" asked C-18 resignedly. Now that her daughter had come out with it, everything fell like scales from her eyes. She would have reacted the same way if she had been in Maron's position, one way and no other. At the same time, however, it hurt her, her daughter hated her because they had decided from an early age not to teach her how to fight. They both agreed on it at the time, Kuririn only wanted to teach her to fly, nothing more. They did not want to raise their daughter to be a fighting machine, but rather to give her the normal life that they both had always missed.

"Listen to Marron ..."

"No, Ma, I'm not listening. Leave me alone once and for all!" she yelled at her and turned away. Before the first step she turned around again and looked at her mother with obvious hatred in her eyes. “Your words can't change anything!” With that she ran up the stairs with crying eyes, stormed into her room, slamming behind her as if reflexively, as she did every day. With that she threw herself tears on the bed and sobbed into her pillow. She imagined she could smell the soothing smell of Bras Parfum, imagined that her best friend would now sit next to her and comfort her. But there was no one, only she alone with herself ........

Kuririn came home late. After the terrifying incident, he stopped by the Sons, where they talked about it for a while. Just him alone with Son Goku. The two of them hadn't had a conversation with friends in a long time, there were always others there who bothered them.In the end it ended up with Kuririn taking a few sips too much of the schnapps that Chichi had put on the table for them before she went to bed like Son Goten herself. Son Goku hadn't touched him, sucking on a bottle of water as always.

They had talked about a lot, but more about the bad than the good. Marron was also part of their conversation, which had basically caused him to drink one glass after the other. He had told his old friend everything from his feelings to the anger that was building up inside him. Goku had put a reassuring hand on his shoulder and his words still echoed in his subconscious, as if he had just heard them again. "Don't worry, my friend. With the help of these two girls, Trunks and Goten, we will find this Taylor. You can take poison on that! Marron will calm down again once Bra is safe! That's a promise!"

"I hope you're right ..." Kuririn mumbled quietly to himself as he carefully opened the front door. Goku had walked back right after he brought him home with his momentary teleportation.

He swayed a little as he looked for the light switch in the darkness of the house. In general, the world revolved around him and a disgusting taste was on the tongue. He would have loved to lie down on the floor here and now, just so as not to have to be afraid of falling. He felt sick as he made a mental vow never to touch a drop of alcohol again.

He didn't have to look for the switch before he knew it correctly, C-18 was in front of him and the light in the living room blinded him. He quickly closed his eyes, tormented, before opening them again, but a lot more slowly. His wife stood in front of him, she had big tears in her eyes. "There you are ..." she said in a hoarse voice.A smile played on his face and before he knew it she hugged him relieved and kissed his lips. "Uh ... what did you drink ??" She pulled her lips away in disgust.

Kuririn grinned transfigured. "Some devil brew. I was still at Son Goku ..." he mumbled in a drab voice. "What's going on?"

C-18 swallowed hard. "Maroon."

"Isi already there? The concert isn't over yet!"

"She said it was interrupted because of the heavy rain ..."

"Nonsense ... The hall has a roof."

C-18 gasped. "Are you sure? But where was she then? She was soaking wet and totally upset when she came. She was crying!"

The worry line spread on Kuririn's otherwise cheerful face. "Maybe it wasn't a good idea to send her to her favorite band's concert after all. I should have known that every single song in the band reminds her of Bra. Idiot!" furiously, he slapped his head with the palm of his hand while he sat down on the sofa, lying down.Everything was spinning before his eyes and yet he was still sane. The news about Marron had put an ice-cold hand on his back, which slowly but surely sobered him up.

C-18 sat down next to him and put her arm around her husband worriedly, ignoring the smell of the liquor. "No, it wasn't ... something else must have happened. She blamed us for Bras' kidnapping."

“What?” Kuririn looked up into the eyes of C-18, as if he hoped to see a mischievous glow there that would disprove the whole thing as a stupid joke. But no glow adorned the blue eyes, just pure seriousness, followed by a nod of her head. "She said that if we had taught her to fight, she could have protected Bra."

"That's absurd! Even Son Goku would have had a hard time competing against this Taylor, he would have crushed her like a fly!"

"Of course he would. But she just got it into her head and nobody seems to get it out of her ..."

"Yeah ..." Kuririn sighed heavily. "Her stubbornness, she only got it from you!"

"What is that supposed to mean again?" C-18 asked carefully, her eyes narrowing.

Kuririn quickly waved it off. He knew that once his wife was upset, he could sleep on the sofa for the next five nights. "That wasn't meant seriously. Let's not argue now, please."

"It's okay," C-18 said soothingly, and ran her husband through the brown hair. She loved that soft hair, loved to mess it up and massage his head. "Maybe you should talk to her again."

“Me?” Kuririn looked at his wife in surprise. "What's the point, we've already tried everything. Maybe we should see a psychologist."

"For sure." C-18's voice was a mockery. "And what should we say? Hello, I'm a cyborg, my daughter's friend, who is a half-Saiyan, was kidnapped by a Saiyan. Great idea, Kuririn!"

"It's okay. I'll talk to her ... or better yet." He paused and a smile spread across his face. “You don't even know what happened at the barbecue party.” With that he told his wife about the events of the party, about Vegeta's confession and the mission of the young people. C-18 listened attentively and was already sorry that she hadn't come. But she had the feeling that it would be better to stay at home, if only because of Marron. And after what had happened about two hours ago, she'd been damn glad she'd made that decision.

"Tomorrow they'll start looking for Taylor. I wanted to be there when they left anyway, so I could take Marron with me so she can see that everyone is doing their best to save her friend."

C-18 frowned, but then smiled too. "Yes, maybe it will help her ..." With that she kissed her husband passionately, so that he ran out of breath. They lay tightly embraced on the sofa for a long time before they managed to crawl into bed, while C-18 gave Kuririn a little walker, saying that next time he should be more careful about how much he was drinking.

Once again it was up to Trunks and Son Goten to say goodbye to their familiar surroundings. A year had passed since their
