Corvy and Vette pt9
Days, no, weeks went by in which Corvy neither talked nor ate. She always just sat in her room, cut off from the rest of the world. Vette always stayed with her during that time. She didn't want to leave her alone for a minute. Who knows what was going through Corvy's head. Maybe it would occur to her to hurt herself. But no ... Corvy would never do that. Not in a hundred years.
Corvy lay in her bed and stared at the ceiling. She hadn't moved for a few days. She got skinny and it was long time to eat again. But she wasn't hungry. Then she heard a knock. It was Vette. As she often did, she tried again to get Corvy out of her room, but in vain. "Hey Corvy. Come on out of there. I miss you. I know how you have to feel but ..."
"No."
"What?"
"No. Don't you know."
Vette was silent for a moment, then went on. "Yeah ... you're right, but if you don't talk I won't understand either. It's not good for you what you're doing. Do you think Spike wants you to torture yourself like that?"
Corvy winced at the mention of his name. "Never say his name again!" she barked. It was the first time in Vette's life that Corvy was yelling at her not just for fun. It was meant seriously. However, Vette was not discouraged. She kept trying to persuade Corvy to come out, but even she couldn't hold back tears.
Lonely tears fell one by one on the floor. Vette fell to her knees. "Corvy ..." she said while sobbing. "Corvy you don't understand? You not only hurt yourself ... but all who are dear to you. That's just me now, but isn't that enough?" She pounded the door firmly with her fist. "Corvy finally open the door !!" she yelled at her now.A scream. Suddenly she heard a rumble. Something heavy fell to the ground. Could it be that ... Corvy!
"Corvy! What's going on? What happened! Corvy !!! Open the door !! Corvy are you okay? What happened ?? Corvy !!" Vette desperately banged on the door and turned the handle. She pounded on it so hard that she broke it open. There she found Corvy on the floor, passed out and covered in blood. There was a knife next to her.
"CORVY !!!"
……………
What happened to the world ... everything turned against me. Spike ... Shavo ... Corvy. Everyone I love leaves me ... one by one. Do I deserve it? Does God want to punish me? What did I do so bad? Why can't we just live in peace? Why ...
……………
“CORVY !!!” Vette snapped to her side and lifted her head. Corvy was no longer breathing. Vette couldn't breathe properly herself. That was a terrible sight. Everything seemed like it wasn't real ... not real. But it was real. It was real and Vette had to do something quickly. She covered Corvy's nose and opened her mouth. Vette blew air into Corvy's lungs, hoping she would breathe soon. 1… 2… 3. Vette gave Corvy a steady chest and again blew air into Corvy's lungs. Corvy coughed. Haleluya! She did it! Corvy lived! Vette hugged Corvy and cried. She was so happy. She won't die. Corvy will live.
Vette quickly called an ambulance and they came running up. They picked up Corvy (well, that kind of thing) and put her in the car. “I'll come with you.” Vette said resolutely to the driver.
"Are you family?" asked he. Vette nodded. "No jump."
It was late afternoon. Corvy was sharing a sick room with an old lady. She talked to Cory sometimes, but she never answered. Corvy still didn't speak. She can't remember anything that happened after she tried ... well, the incident. She just started on the ceiling most of the time and sometimes she turned to look out the window. At night the old lady sometimes woke up because she heard Corvy sobbing. She just wanted to go over to her and hug her, but Corvy would probably find that a little strange.
Vette came to see Corvy every day and told her that she had survived an operation well. She was so glad that Corvy was safe. Every day Vette would tell Corvy how much she loved her. “I'll always be there for you,” she always reminded her. Corvy still didn't speak but she listened well to what vette was saying and when she thought about it sometimes she would cry.
Another day had passed and Corvy was still not allowed out of the hospital. She had to stay in there for a month, the doc had said, because she was badly injured. It was late afternoon again and the old lady began to tell Corvy about her children and about her grandson.
"You know ... my grandson, Alex, he is a good boy. You would like him. He takes good care of his grandma and he always helps his parents when they are in need. His little sister couldn't imagine a better brother. He loves his family. He's never been so lucky with girls. He says he's not that interested in love but ... everyone needs love at some point. He's no different. Nobody tries to get to know him properly. If you know what kind crazy person he is, you could fall in love with him. "
Corvy thought it was a little weird that an old lady would use the word "crazy". She smiled. "Maybe he'll come to visit me today. I'd be happy about that." Corvy was tired too, so she took a little nap too.
Corvy soon woke up from hearing voices. Someone had come to see the old lady. "Hey, Grandma. Wake up. I came here especially for you and you Pennst." Said a boy's voice. Corvy didn't want her to think she was awake, so she didn't turn around either. "Hello my boy! I am glad to see you!" said the lady in a cheerful voice. Yes, it was wrong, but Corvy overheard their conversation.
"Yeah, how is your mother? And Ellie? Are you all right with this ... that strange boy she calls 'friend'?" apparently the lady didn't like Ellie's friend. "Grandma. You always say you should get to know people first before you talk badly about them. What's that supposed to mean?" he asked with a laugh. "Oh Alex, I know, but I have such a bad feeling about him ..."
Alex nodded. "Yeah, me too ... but if Ellie trusts him ... we should give him a chance."
Not many people would think like Alex.He really wasn't like everyone else. "Oh, grandma, you have a new girlfriend in the room?" he asked when he saw Corvy. She twitched briefly. "Yes. She is nice. She doesn't talk but she always listens. I know that she has a good heart." Said the lady. Corvy wondered why the lady liked Corvy so much. She was actually rude because she never talked to her. Corvy felt bad. "What's the matter with her? Do you know?" asked Alex. The lady looked sad.
"Oh what. She fell on a knife, that's why she's here. But why doesn't she talk? No, I don't know." What ??? Fell on a knife? What did the lady say for convulsions? She knows very well that Corvy tried to ... oh ... because of that. Yes, Corvy understood now. How would Alex think of her if he knew what she was trying to do? Thank you Grandma.
Now Grandma began to whisper in Alex's ear. Corvy wanted to know what they were talking about. She decided not to play anymore. She turned and stared again at the ceiling. "Hey, Alex. Could you help her a little bit too? I mean if you come to visit me you could talk to her too? I firmly believe that you could help her and maybe she'll talk to you." The lady whispered to Alex . "Y ... now?" he asked nervously. Grandma nodded.
"Yes, okay! I trust you. If it doesn't help then I don't know either. So just take your nap again." He kissed his grandma on the forehead and covered her. Grandma was happy to have such a great grandson.
So Alex went over to Corvy who was still looking at the ceiling. "Hello," he said. She looked at him rubber and he choked on a piece of candy he was just putting in his mouth. She ... she's pretty. "So ..." he began. “How long have you been here?” No answer. Corvy looked away. "Okay okay. I understand. You don't want to talk. But can't you say why?"Then Corvy makes a sad face." Hm ... well as you like.
I already know. 'Who is that? And why should I tell him something? 'No, that's okay. I am used to it. Then I just have to show you that I can be trusted. Here. You want some candy? "He held one out to her. She didn't even spare him a look.
"Yes ... well. I'll just put it here. Eat it when you feel like it." He then looked briefly at the clock. "Oh dear. I have to pick Ellie up from high school. Well, she can now drive. Haha! Well, goodbye. I hope you're fine. Ciao!" and so he said goodbye to Corvy. She watched him go. It was kind of nice to have someone else again. Not just Vette or the old lady.
Alex.
He was nice. Still, she wouldn't touch the candy. Corvy had a lot to think about.
