"Kai? What are you doing here?" In her mind she was already imagining what he might say. > "I was worried about you! Friday is the city tournament. And what should we do without our best player!" And he would smile very sweetly! <
But, nothing like that happened. Instead, he glared at Tokomi. She didn't quite understand. Why was he looking at her like that?
“You…!” Tokomi backed away, startled. Somehow Kai scared her now. “You… really want to let the team down?” He eyed the suitcase carefully. She just looked at him questioningly. What did he mean by that? "So you ... will really be driving, and us on Friday at
let go! "Tokomi looked sadly at the ground." Kai ... please understand ...! "
"What should I understand? There is an important game ahead of us, and you just run away! What should I understand about it?" "1. I have been looking forward to this trip for years and 2.it is very important to my father! And besides ... "she started to smile ..." ... before I came you didn't have any problems to lose either, did you? "
Tokomi was startled. Was your team captain looking at you slightly confused? Yes, he seemed kind of confused. But his gaze left immediately. "I'll tell you one thing: if you should go now, you don't have to show up at our place!" And then he was outside. What did he just say? If she left now, wouldn't she have to come back to the team? She fell on her knees and slowly the hot tears rolled down her cheeks. Her gaze was fixed on the ground. "Wh ... why?"> Why is he saying that? <
Suddenly she felt two arms wrap around her. It couldn't be her father. Besides, he'd probably gone back to the office again. Slowly she looked up and into Ray's amber eyes. Tokomi gave a loud sob and clung to him crying. The native Chinese stroked her back with a reassuring touch.
It was difficult to calm her down because "that" had hit her pretty hard. > What did he say to Tokomi? She never stops crying!
After almost half an hour, she had largely calmed down. "What ... * sob * what are you doing here?" Her eyes were all red. That red could keep up with the color of her eyes. Ray smiled encouragingly at her. "Just wanted to look after you! I actually wanted to ring the doorbell, but before that someone else tore open the door and ran away angrily ... The door was still open, so I came in." Tokomi had meanwhile got up again and was in her Put in bed. He sat down on the edge of the bed and now looked at her pityingly. “But what… what happened anyway?” She was about to start sobbing again, but managed to keep herself under control.
"We have a problem with that. Kai doesn't joke with something like that. But why does he say that? Either he wants to get rid of you, or he is so attached to you, he doesn't want to lose you, but that doesn't suit him. He Apparently knows how you feel! "Ray looked thoughtfully at the ceiling. "B-But where-how do you know ...?" Tokomi looked at her slightly confused. He leaned over to her and whispered: "It was so easy to guess!" Startled, the beautiful backed away a bit and Ray continued. "It was as easy to guess as
you feel! Your looks, your gestures, everything pointed to it. Even a blind man with a cane would notice that. However ... the other three ... don't seem to have noticed anything yet. And Kai didn't miss it either, I'd bet my headband on that. "
They both talked for a long time, but that didn't solve the problem.
Ray was just about to open the door to the hallway, because it was about time when it suddenly flew open and the 15-year-old got it right in front of his head. Then he was first knocked out on the floor. "Toko are you still ... oops? Ray tell me: are you taking a nap? But you can also lie down somewhere else!" Tokomi suddenly burst out laughing. "Mom, you ... have just got ... the door against ... against ...", she managed to laugh as she fell out of bed and doubled over on the floor with stomach ache, but still didn't stop laughing.
A little later, around 9 p.m., all four were sitting in the living room. "You seem to be fine again!" Ray looked at Tokomi. “Seems like it was just a blind alarm!” Toko's mother felt her forehead. “In any case, the fever is down.” The charming Chinese stood up slowly. "It's about time! The others are probably already worried!" The 14-year-old who had accompanied him to the door now looked sadly at the floor.Ray took her in his arms. "It'll be fine! I'll talk to him, OK?" She smiled at him. Toko stroked his right forehead briefly, where there was a large plaster. "Does it still hurt? You were knocked out for a long time!" Ray laughed at her. “Not at all! And you know: where there is nothing, nothing can hurt!” She punched him in the stomach amicably. "Nonsense! You're definitely smarter than you think, ... aren't you?" Both of them couldn't help but laugh.
Shortly before he left the apartment, he asked: "When does your plane fly tomorrow?" Tokomi looked at him questioningly. “At half past seven in the morning, why do you ask?” He laughed again. “Just like that!” He quickly glanced at the watch, shook hands with her and was gone. Confused, she looked at her hand. The one who held Ray's tightly a few seconds ago. What was that…? What did she feel there? That was not right! No way! Her hand felt like a hundred or a thousand ants were crawling over it.Was that what she thought? It couldn't be! Not when she had such strong feelings for Kai. But this one had hurt her. As if a dagger had been thrust into her heart with full force. Was she developing feelings for Ray? Or was it just my imagination ??? Questions upon questions! But instead of worrying about it any further, she decided to go to bed. As they walked, Tokomi called her parents: "Good night!" to, to which she received an answer, and then went to bed.
She had trouble sleeping that night. She kept watching Ray
yourself. What did that mean?
Toko had just woken up and wanted to turn around when she heard her mother's voice. "Tokomi! Hurry up! We have to go soon!" Slowly the addressed rose and touched her throbbing temple. She had a hell of a headache. Toko got up, found her things and then went to the bathroom.
The pattering water in the shower felt good on the skin.It almost seemed like all bad thoughts were washed out of her skin. "Toko will you be ready soon? We have to leave in 1 hour!", Her father's voice boomed through the door. "I'll be right there! Just have to wash my hair!"
After everything was done and the suitcases and bags stowed away, the entire Hiwako family drove towards the airport.
During the whole journey Tokomi had had her headphones on, listened to music and tried to think of nothing, absolutely nothing, which of course was not particularly easy. Something was always trying to sneak into her head. Either a picture, some sentence or an experience. She was never calm from her thoughts.
In the meantime she had laid down on the back seat of the car and was trying to get some sleep.
The trip took 30 minutes.
When they got to the airport it was quiet. It was pretty empty. There were only a few families standing here and there. When they were about to go to check-in, Tokomi stood petrified. There it was, your team. Your entire team. The Bladebreakers! Tyson and Max were already running up. What should she do? She looked past the two of them inconspicuously and saw Kai walking slowly towards them with his eyes closed. Kenny walked next to him, he was just closing his laptop. And next to him ran ... Ray. Tokomi went through mixed feelings. On the one hand because of Kai, on the other hand because of Ray. How should she behave? Should she be completely normal? Like always? Or maybe not?
She had to do something! Only what?
It was actually a completely normal farewell. No tears, no long yelling and babbling, just completely normal. It was only for 1 ½ weeks. Tyson handed Tokomi a bag, which she put in her backpack. Everyone was still hugged warmly, but she hesitated a little with Kai and Ray. The decision was made for her by both of them.Because Ray gave her a friendly hug and Kai just shook hands with her. Somehow, it seemed to Toko that he was still in a bad mood about her. She looked at Ray questioningly and he just nodded with a smile. But could she see sadness in his eyes? Or was it just an illusion? Slowly she looked up at Kai's face, but he seemed to find the ground beneath his feet more interesting than she did. She was still holding his hand. > All right!
