Fanfic: One Piece - Hey Butterlfy
of the third store, their arms filled with bags.
"I can hardly wait!" he said, looking the bags full of food up and down.
"Now Luffy! Just wait until we're back on the ship so Sanji can cook something for us," Nami said. You, Usopp, Chopper and Zorro went ahead when Luffy suddenly stopped at a shop.
He looked inside, the Saber was already running out of the edge of his mouth. There by the window was the biggest cake he has ever seen.
"Whoa ... hungry ..." he said when he remembered his hunger. That thought left his mind just as quickly as it came when he saw something else in the store that was far more interesting than the cake. He stared straight into the eyes of a girl who was looking at the same cake. She stared back.
Even if only for a few seconds, the time the two stared at each other felt like an eternity.
"Luffy! Come on at last!" Nami shouted a few yards out.
Luffy looked at her quickly, and then back at the girl. She was just walking out the door, her eyes not lifted from him.
"RUFFY !!" Nami shouted louder.
Just as the girl went out of business, Luffy ran back to his friends. The girl was left alone and confused. She stared after Luffy as he got smaller and smaller, and finally was just a tiny dot.
It was dark. She didn't remember anything. What had happened then? Where was she now Was she still alive? Only one word went uncontrollably through her head: Cathan. Cathan. Cathan.
A strange but familiar voice shouted the word through her head. She didn't want to hear it anymore. She wanted it to stop. It got louder and louder ... until suddenly it was broken. What did it break? What was that other sound she heard?
"Hey Butterfly ... open up your weary eyes ..." Sanji sang in a low voice. He rocked slowly back and forth in his chair and looked at the hat again.
She heard him sing. She came to again.
"And realize ... Oh. You're awake," Sanji said as the girl's eyes opened. She stared at the ceiling as if she didn't quite understand what was going on around her.
She just said the only thing that came through her head: "Where am I?"
Sanji looked at her in silence.
"Am I dead?" she then asked.
Sanji grinned.
"No, you are not dead. You are here on the Flying Lamb. A ship. My friends and I saved you when we found you passed out on the beach," he explained.
She tried to sit up, putting pressure on her injured leg. She screamed in pain and fell backwards again.
"Was that you? You and your friends?" she asked.
Sanji shook his head.
"No, we found you like that. Your leg was already injured. My friend took care of you," he said.
The girl tried to sit up again and this time managed to do it. She looked around the room in amazement and had forgotten Sanji for a moment.
"What's your name anyway?" he then asked. She winced for a moment, looked at him, and said nothing.
What's my name? She asked herself.
Cathan ...
A cold shower ran down her spine at the name. She noticed that Sanji was still waiting for an answer, and not knowing what else to do, she said: "Cathan."
Sanji raised an eyebrow.
"Cathan?"
"Yes ... that ... is my name."
Sanji shrugged.
"I'm Sanji, the cook on this ship, so if you ever get hungry, just tell me," he told her. "Luffy is the captain here; he can be a little weird at times, but he's a good guy. You just learn to love him. As long as you stay here, you have to stick to the rules. The rules are, Luffy is the boss and." That's how it stays. Problems? Good. Well, we'll just wait until the others come and then we'll decide what to do with you. "
Cathan was silent with a neutral expression.
"You'd better stay here. Chopper said you had a high fever. I don't know if it's settled," Sanji said.
"Chopper?" asked Cathan.
"He's the doc. I'll come back later and see how you're doing. Don't make a mess."
"How many others are there?" she asked.
"Besides Luffy and Chopper there are Nami, Usopp and Zorro, but you will get to know them soon enough."
And so he went to the door and just before he stepped out she said: "Eh ... wait Sanji." He turned to her.
"What ... what is that?" she asked, pointing to the hat in his hands. Sanji looked down at the hat and said, "That ... that's nothing. Now take your rest, okay?"
Cathan nodded, her expression still neutral and unchanged. When Sanji closed the door behind him, he went back up the stairs with a drop.
