Chapter 9:

They all stood facing the dragons ready to attack. Kirara had already transformed into her larger format. Sango was holding her Hirokatsu in her hand, Miroku was ready to open his Kazaana if necessary, Inuyasha had pulled Tessaiga and Tieena had her battle staff ready in her hands. Kinako had to defend herself with her magical and physical powers and would have preferred to have her weapon with her now, but it was at her home in her and Kagome's time and she couldn't summon it. "I hope this guy doesn't take too long or it might look bad for us," said a worried Sango. "Keh. Stop chatting, we'd better start fighting!" came it snappy from Inuyasha. The dragon was not long in coming and hurled fire, but this one was not a natural color for a fire. It was such a mixture of purple and blue. Everyone jumped aside and they split into two troops.Sango, Miroku and Kirara ran to the left while Inuyasha, Kinako and Tieena jumped to the right. The dragon first turned its attention to the weaker troops and flung them out of the way with its tail. They were now incapacitated. Sango lost consciousness, Miroku could hardly move and Kirara was also badly injured. She could still move, but she was no longer able to fight. Tieena started going it alone and jumped on the dragon's back where he couldn't reach her. She raised her staff with the sharpest blade pointing to the dragons and rammed it forcefully into his back. The dragon who had only now noticed that he had jumped on top of her screeched in pain. Tieena just pushed it more into his flesh but she shouldn't have done that because the dragon was slowly getting annoyed and took his tail and threw it far from him near where the injured were being cared for by Kagome."TIEENA" Inuyasha called in concern in their direction. Kagome went to her to get her to a safe place behind the rocks where the others were lying, but she was very annoyed that Inuyasha was so worried about her.



"So we have to fight in pairs again," remarked Kinako. "Yes, it seems so" came from Inuyasha, clearly audible that he was not too enthusiastic about it. Inuyasha then looked a little confused at the place where he was standing. There was now a crater that the fireball had triggered. "Uh, why did you do that?" Kinako looked at him puzzled when he asked. "Why? Why not? I couldn't let you die." "But I thought you didn't like me," he snapped back. "I never said that. You only think that because you are always so mean, then I'll make you feel like that. But if you stop behaving like that towards me, I could be more friendly" Now Inuyasha was a little ashamed .Kinako had nothing against him - she only acted like that because he always got so biting to her. He was a bit impressed that Kinako still liked him a lot. Kagome was different. But now they quickly got up again, ready to fight. "Steer that thing off for a while, I'll get Tessaiga" Kinako didn't know exactly what he meant by Tessaiga, but she was able to distract him. Now the dragon attacked Kinako too, but this time it snapped its mouth towards her. Kinako held back his mouth. He pushed it further and further towards her and tried to keep opening his mouth. But Kinako was getting too colorful. She pushed him a little away and hit him directly on the kite's chin with her fist. He took a few steps back. Now Inuyasha came back with Tessaiga and stood next to Kinako. "You blew him away," said Inuyasha. "Thanks. We have to manage to really hurt him, he's way too attentive," Kinako replied.But what should you do? The dragon was much too attentive and noticed that he was attacked when he was distracted by someone else. The dragon paused. It seemed like he wanted to know what they were up to and is now waiting for their attack. Kinako thought hard about how they could injure these cattle. And then she got an idea. Now he just had to get him so far that he hurled a ball of fire at him. Inuyasha tried a lot. He hit the kite a lot in the head and it also brought something. He was already puffing up his chest, which was a sign that he was spitting fire at any moment. Now he also hits him with a ball of fire. Inuyasha took Tessaiga and held it against the fireball. He just had the strength to hold back the fireball. He had to work very hard, but he managed to throw the fireball at Kinako. Now he would see what that was about. Kagome came back behind her hiding place. "You did great," Kagome shouted from afar to the two of them. Suddenly the dragon got up with lightning speed and hurled another fireball but this time at Kagome. She just stood there in shock, unable to move. Inuyasha and Kinako were shocked but quickly ran to her. But they would not be able to reach her in time. Kinako let the fireball freeze, but the dragon wanted to throw another one. This time Kinako couldn't stop that. Inuyasha couldn't believe it. How could he be so careless? Now Kagome was in dire danger and he couldn't help her. But he wanted to help her, he didn't want her to die, he wanted to save her.Suddenly a feeling spread in Inuyasha. It was a force that he felt in her and he used it as if by himself. He collected a large black ball of energy in his hands. The energy ball repeatedly struck small lightning bolts. Now he hurled it at the kite. He screamed loudly and began to turn to ashes, and the fireball disappeared with him.
