Eddie's end and start of life

Part 2: First appearing and hurting

The creature had been wandering the stinking, dark sewers for hours. She no longer thought about her unsuccessful existence, she didn't want it at all. Whenever possible, she avoided looking into the water running along the bottom, just so as not to have to see herself. A few minutes earlier she had noticed that her nose was missing as well as her skin and hair. The airways were still there and could also be recognized, but the undead would still not get used to the missing "stem" very quickly. And he also hated those glowing, bright blue points of light in the pitch-black eye sockets that scolded his pupils.

After another 70 minutes of stray, he heard something about himself. As if something heavy on wheels were driving over him. Vehicles. Cars, trucks, buses ... why did he only remember them but not his past?Anyway, at least in part, but now the new being was in a city. And there it had to be possible in some corner or area to find something to eat. Because the undead could not simply ignore hunger. The few rats he threw himself in on the way were firstly too lean and secondly too bland. It had to be something thick and juicy. And if it were dead, he would take it with pleasure. He hadn't wasted a thought on the fact that he was also a scavenger after the knowledge. After all, he had expected something like that, for whatever reason.

After a long search, the creature finally noticed a pleasantly fleshy smell. There had to be something nearby. A Fle ... what was it called, ... butcher ... butcher shop. Some memories came back very gradually, but unfortunately none were useful.

The being followed the seductive smell of flesh and blood. The goods must have been "made" fresh. It was also as if the dripping chunks of meat were moving. Of course, they were transported. Unimportant. Then it would just follow the transporter until it stops.

This happened shortly afterwards. The undead heard a car door slam and then footsteps. It was good that a manhole was nearby, so he didn't have to break through the road. Carefully he lifted the lid and saw a tall, muscular man with two growling, strong-looking dogs. Dobermans, probably guard dogs. The man grabbed a block of meat and carried it into a shop that had to be his. The dogs flew him to the front door. That was the chance. Unfortunately, out of greed for the blood paradise lying in front of it, the creature left the shelter a little too quickly and was noticed by the dogs. These shot towards the open cargo hold door, through which the undead had previously jumped. He was just attacking the dead man when two sharp bits dug into his left shoulder and tore each other there.A bloodcurdling scream echoed down the deserted street. It was not hidden from the shopkeeper either. He knew it was coming from his car, along with loud yowling and barking. Armed with a butcher knife, he hurried to the wagon and saw the creature fighting the two Dobermans. "Damn it ..., for the cattle I get loads of money at the zoo or a preperator." With this statement, the man threw himself into the action. Out of justified respect for the beast's teeth, he attacked from behind. Not exactly on the battered shoulder. Over and over again and with all brutality and strength he rammed the knife into the gaping wound in his shoulder, smeared with dark red blood. The creature's screams of pain grew louder and brighter. She threw herself around in the car to shake off the attackers. In the short term, she also succeeded. But the dogs were back after a few seconds. She didn't know why, but for some reason she didn't really want to kill the animals. But the butcher also took action again and this time attacked her from the front, leaving a deep cut on the creature's right cheek with the knife.

The wound on the shoulder hurt like hell and was torn open even more by the fighting dogs. The pain and also the fear of even more made the creature crazy, it suddenly felt a throbbing pressure in its head, smelled its own blood and that of the dogs, which came out of the wounds it inflicted on them, the blood of the slaughtered animals. Angry growls and gasps could now be heard from the screams. The blue pupils turned blood red and spread the color like a mist in the eye sockets. Her mind stopped and with a concentrated burst of energy she carried the dogs and their owners through the walls of the car. Since the Dobermans were weakened from the fight and blood loss, they did not survive. They couldn't have saved their master anyway. After he had picked himself up, he stood facing the monster alone. It had bothered him while eating, he clearly had to be eaten for that, right? And best of all the head first. A short scream was still to be heard, then every horror film producer would have preferred to turn off the camera.

Grinding footsteps could be heard in the corridors of the sewers. The water turned red from dripping, almost flowing blood. Panting, hand pressed to the bleeding wound on the shoulder and limping from a sprained ankle, the creature dragged itself down an unfamiliar path. The brownish lips were smeared like the teeth with strong red human blood, the glow in the eyes blue again. She came to a larger room where several corridors began or ended. Exhausted and tired, she sank into a corner. This guy, he wanted to make money with her life or with her dead body, as if she were just some stupid animal that can't be used for anything better or an object. Was her own existence really worth that little?

The pain subsided, she could only see everything around her flickering. Eventually, weakened by struggle and pain, the creature sank into a swoon-like deep but restless sleep. The eyelids were still there, for whatever reason, but had adapted to the color of the rest of the body and the shape of the eye sockets. What had happened to her then?
