Chapter 14:
"What, yesterday it almost worked ?!" Yasion yelled angrily early in the morning. Yasion was standing in the hall listening to Inuyasha's report from yesterday. "Yep, we would have made it close. We just had to unite our bodies," Inuyasha continued in a bored tone. "And why couldn't you finish it?" Yasion asked angrily. "Because Fuchs's annoyance had to roar in between and bring us out of concentration," Inuyasha said, probably a little exaggerated. "If you almost made it yesterday, it should be easy for you afterwards, right?" said Tieena who was also in the hall. Inuyasha shrugged and pretended to be as calm as possible. Tieena stood next to Inuyasha who was leaning against a pillar. "Is there anything I can do to help you?" Tieena asked as sweetly as she could. "Uh yeah, get Kagome out of bed! She's still sleeping," he gave up on Tieena.Tieena followed his instructions and messed up with Kagome. When she stood by her bed, where she was still sleeping peacefully, she tore the covers from her and yelled at her. "HEY! YOU TRANSUSE, WAKE UP !!!" she roared in her ear. Kagome woke up in shock and thrashed out, and met Tieena in the process. She held her cheek. "Oh, it's you ... I'm sorry, I thought it was Inuyasha," Kagome tried to persuade herself, because she was actually quite happy about it. "Grrhhh, you should finally get up!" Tieena tried to control herself. But as it became more and more difficult for her, she left the room. Now Kagome got up and began to get dressed. She still had to smile at Tieena's stupid face, as if she had never been hit before. Then she ran to Inuyasha in a good mood. "Good morning," Kagome exclaimed happily. "Already awake ?!" Inuyasha replied. Actually, Kagome wanted to say something about it, but she left it for now.She could always punish him later. "Where are the others?" asked Kagome. "They're all outside, we're going there now too, so come on!" he reported to Kagome. Inuyasha left as I said before and Kagome followed immediately. And now Tieena ran past her and now walked next to Inuyasha. And then Kagome thought she wasn't looking right. She actually hacked into him. ° Oh this one. . . ° Kagome was annoyed in his thoughts and inwardly wished that they would switch places.
They also found everyone outside and they saw Tieena clinging to Inuyasha and Kagome staring at her jealously. ° Not only is Kikyo in my way, now that one too ° she was angry inside. Tieena didn't even seem to care what others thought. "Shall we start?" Kinako asked with a sideways glance at Kagome. Inuyasha nodded and freed herself from Tieena's grip. Kagome breathed a sigh of relief. She followed Inuyasha and Kinako to the training ground.Just as they were about to sit down, Yasion came running. "I have to be there if you can do it," he gasped. So Inuyasha, Kagome and Kinako sat down again and began to concentrate. Although they had closed their eyes, they still felt the eyes of the others resting on them. Somehow that made them feel weird. They tried desperately to contact each other again and to coordinate with each other. But they didn't succeed. They had made it last night and now they felt like they were doing it for the first time. They finally gave up. "What's going on? You did it yesterday," Shippo asked. "You almost didn't yell in between," Inuyasha roared to the little fox. "Stop it Inuyasha! He can't help it," she reprimanded the Hanyou. "Keh," Inuyasha grumbled at it. "But it's true. Why doesn't it work now?" put in Kinako. Both shrugged their shoulders."And we only have one day left and then it can all be over," Yasion muttered. "If he goes on like this, they'll never make it," Sango whispered to Miroku.
Inuyasha, Kagome and Kinako have now met. Sat down to talk about it. They were alone and that was probably better that way. "What was so different yesterday from what we did?" Inuyasha asked. "Maybe because it was night," suggested Kagome. "It's definitely not that," said Kinako. "And then what?" Inuyasha asked again. There was a silence. Nobody really knew an answer to that, it was so important.
The day was drawing to a close again and they had practiced it very often, but nothing happened. The audience was also discouraged. "I guess it won't work today," Miroku muttered. Sango gave him a nod. But the three didn't stop because they only had one day left. It had to work again, but they just couldn't do it.When it was late at night, they gave up. "I think it won't work anymore and you are already too tired and exhausted" Miroku shouted to them. They gave in and went to their rooms. They were already a little discouraged and had little hope that they would make it. But they didn't want to give up, there was far too much at stake for that. But they already agreed on one thing that it would be pretty close.
Nobody could really sleep because everyone had to think about tomorrow. Tomorrow would be the time and then they just had to be able to do it. But nobody knows whether they will succeed. Of course they hoped so and if they gave up now it would be over anyway. They really wanted to make it tomorrow and they prayed inwardly that they would make it.
Kagome was still sleeping peacefully until a shock woke her up. She quickly jumped out of bed and ran out of her room. She quickly found the others who were already awake and coming towards her. "What's going on here?" asked Kagome. "Well the dragon army of this banned man has now become active and is attacking us now," Tieena explained to her. "And what are we doing now?" Sango asked excitedly. "Stupid question, we fight of course," Inuyasha said belligerently. "Against this huge army?" asked Miroku with astonishment. "Sure! At least we have our powers under control, so it shouldn't be difficult to kill them," Inuyasha said, sure that they would win. "But why are they attacking all of a sudden?" Kagome asked further. "Because we hid his weapon here. You know that," Tieena replied to Kagome's question. Kagome was annoyed by this tone of hers. But what can you do? "It is unwise if you want to fight this army" interfered now Yasion. "Even if you are strong and can take on their strength, it is dangerous. There are countless of these dragons gathered out there." Everyone was silent, even Inuyasha did not know what to answer."And what are we going to do now?" Sango asked again. This time she got no answer. "If we shouldn't fight, what then please? Because we can't just stand here and watch everything," added Kinako to the conversation. Everyone agreed, but no one had an idea. "Perhaps you should still learn the fusion! After all, you still can't do it properly and today is the day," was Shippo's opinion. "Impossible. You can't concentrate at all with the noise. It won't work," said Kinako. It crashed again. "But standing around here doesn't get us any further either. We should be doing something," said Miroku. He was right, standing around doing nothing didn't make it any better. But Inuyasha was still convinced that they could handle it. "I'm going out now and shoot these scaled creatures. Are you coming with me?" Without waiting for an answer from the others, he went ahead to the exit. Kagome ran after him now and the others weren't long in coming either.Tieena ran after them too, only Yasion remained in his seat. "This youth ...", shaking his head, he walked down the corridor, towards the conference room and not to the others. He wanted to help them in a different way.
Everyone did their best. Kagome shot one by one with a bow and arrow. Inuyasha shot at her with energy balls, Sango threw her boomerang around, Miroku tried to keep her in check with his ban slip without claiming his hole. Shippo couldn't do that much and stayed in hiding as directed. Kinako let the dragons fall from the sky with their magical powers and Tieena was able to allow some to fall with her weapons. When they got the situation properly under control and probably halfway down the air, the survivors withdrew. Kagome fell to the ground exhausted and the others huffed from exhaustion. But it was a victory, but a small one. They withdrew again and prepared themselves. Everyone else was also upset and making preparations. Because the sun was leaning more and more to the west and the day was fading away. Soon the night would swallow the sun and they would now face the enemy they had been preparing for so long. Yasion and the other members of the council built a rampart around this place. Of course it was clear to everyone that it wasn't enough and that this was just the beginning. It already seemed to them as if the time was moving even faster. Although everyone had prepared for that fight early in the morning, everyone was still pacing hectically, preparing to defend themselves.
Everyone stood on the platform except Inuyasha, Kagome and Kinako who sat on the training ground and gathered strength. Her friends watched her do it. It was difficult for the three of them to concentrate, they were plagued by time pressure and nervousness. They took another break, which they had done many times before. Kagome glanced at the horizon, from which the sun was about to disappear. Inuyasha and Kinako followed her gaze and lingered. The fear was reflected in her eyes, and it was growing every day. Soon it would show whether her training would pay off. “Are you ready?” Kinako and Kagome turned their gaze from the sun to Inuyasha. They nodded, not daring to break the oppressive silence. They released themselves from their sitting position and ran to the platform where the others were standing. Without saying a word they looked at Sango, Miroku, Shippo and also Tieena, Yasion and even Spyro. Nobody had to say a word, their looks spoke volumes. Only a red veil of clouds could be seen on the horizon. All that was left of the sun was a glow of light.
