Chapter 6- Cave Attack Queck

Pin still couldn't take his eyes off Jen's wing. Jen folded the wings and looked at Pin in amazement. "What is the matter with you? Have you never had a person with a wing ..... ah, okay ..... was a stupid question.", He said. Pin started to grin. "Jen! You can look really" cool "!", She grinned. "Yeah, but, HEY? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?" He yelled at her. "Oh, only that I like these leather canvases ...!" Said Pin, amused, took a step forward and grabbed one of the wings. "Ouch! Pin, what's that about? Do you mean I can't feel it?" Jen yelled as Pin was pinching the leathery skin of the wings. "Oh sorry, but I just want to see how they feel ... damn rough ... if you want I can borrow some" baby-soft skin "soap!", She continued to grin, and took a step away from Jen as a precaution . Jens response to that was a snappy "shut up!". Again there was a noise that sounded like slamming tight leather walls together, and Pin was amazed.W- where are the wings all of a sudden? ", she was amazed, and felt Jens back." Away! "he said.

"Oh what? I didn't even notice!", Pin grumbled back, and clapped her hand firmly on Jen's back. "Ouch !!! Are you stupid?" He shouted. Pin reached up and grabbed Jen's ear. "Come on, we're going!" She said. "Ouch, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow ouuuaaa!" Shouted Jen, "let go! I can still feel my ear!" Pin left out, and Jen rubbed her ear.

Ruphus, who had watched the whole spectacle without a word, followed them and took a breath (or whatever he did to start speaking). "M-master Jen?" He said, and tugged at Jens T-shirt. "Hmm?" Jen grumbled, and just kept walking. "S-s- didn't you say we're going to Olenn?" He continued. "Yeah, that's exactly what I said, do you have a problem with that?" Jen said. "N- no by no means, but I dare to assume that Olenn will only be able to go straight ahead if we reverse our steps.", said Ruphus embarrassed. Jen stopped." Why do we stop? "asked Pin, who hadn't noticed. Jen turned around and marched the other direction. Then he tossed a piece of paper to Pin. It was a card." What am I supposed to do with that? ", she asked puzzled." Read the card ..... I can't do that ...! "he said, embarrassed, looking straight ahead." Ah! Map reading! I can do that! "cried Pin happily, tangling the card as she opened it." Um? Pin code? Are you sure you can do this "Jen asked uncertainly." Sure ... can't be that difficult! "she laughed.

Half an hour later, Pin, Jen and Ruphus were soaked in a forest somewhere far from the city. "Pin? I think you lied to me about reading the card!" Jen grumbled. "M- Miss Pin, I think I'll have to vote for Master Jen (he thinks Jen is right)!" Ruphus stuttered. "If only I knew where Olenn is!" She said, turning the map in all directions.Jen looked over her shoulder. "Pin, you're holding it upside down!" He said finally. Then he snatched the card from her hand and laid it on the floor. "I thought you couldn't read cards!" Pin grumbled, offended. "I can't either, but I can do it better than you," he said angrily. "Oh yes, let's see!" Pin put on a challenging expression. "Why should I?" "Well, because you are so much better than me!" "THAT is probably not very difficult!" "Then first prove that you can!" "Why should I because? "" Firstly so that we can get out of this damn cave, and secondly because you are the "great card reader"! "

Ruphus, who did not take part in the whole spectacle, sat down on a stone cave wall and looked around. Suddenly two bright yellow eyes blinked from the dark passage that led deep into the cave. Suddenly about 60 couples flashed out of the darkness. One, however, was larger than the others, and instead of bright yellow, it was bright red."M- Master Jen? M- Miss Pin?" Stuttered Ruphus. There was no response from Jen and Pin. "Master J- Jen? Mi- Miss Pin?" Ruphus got a little louder. Again no reaction from Jen and Pin, who were still squabbling.

"Meiiister Jeeen! Miss Piiiiin?" He suddenly shouted, making it just echo. Now their heads turned over. "What is the matter, Ruphus?" Jen asked him. "M- M- M- master ....., I let currents go through my empty skull (he means thinking), and find it very strange that 32 pairs of visual organs are eyeing us here!" He stuttered excitedly, and pointed to the dark place. They continued to twinkle and twinkle across. "Ruphus, I think I find THAT strange too!" Said Jen, strangely calm. He got up and approached one of the pairs of eyes. "H- hello? Who or what are you?" He whispered. He came closer and closer with his hand. The eyes narrowed and suddenly a little horned thing shot out. This was followed by a squashed "Auuuuu!", from Jen. It was a Dundon that shot out and clenched Jen's hand." IEEEEEKS! "Pin screamed.

Jen waved her hand wildly to get rid of the dundon. It wasn't that easy, though, because the Dundon had hundreds of sharp, smaller, barbed fangs. "Let go right now, you beast!" Jen yelled out loud. “Otherwise I'll have to be serious, and then there won't be much left of you!” He was still waving the little creature in the air.

"Let go, I said! Let go now!" He yelled "well, then the hard way!" he put his second hand on the dundon, and put his fingertips on his oversized, horned pear. "bakuhatsu suru!" he whispered. His hand began to flash brightly and vibrate. The Dundon, now looking up at his forehead, vibrated with it. With a soft "PFFFLTSCH" the whole Dundon exploded and a slimy mass smeared itself all over the cave."Yuck, those critters! Only a spell works, and that's always a mess!" Jen moaned.

Suddenly one of the Dundons came shooting out of the darkness. Jen was quick to react, and when he touched him, this former Dundon also exploded.

Jen shouted, “There are at least 60 of the beasts left!” Pin, who was about to run to Jen, stopped and wrinkled her nose. "But you can handle them, won't you?" She said doubtfully. "Sure, but I'm more worried about the huge thing that is still behind you!" Jen pointed to the large pair of bright red eyes.

"hikari!" he said, and the area in front of them, which was previously shrouded in darkness, was, as it seemed, illuminated by Jen's palm. With him, the figures, of which one only saw the eyes before, were also enlightened. There was a whole colony of Dundons in the front. There must have been at least 100 of the little beings. And behind them stood, or lay, or whatever, a slimy fat man.Pin wanted to throw up at the sight of him. "Jen, what's that?" She choked out. "That? That's a quack!" He said in a funny high-pitched voice.

(Note: In between: Queck = slimy green-purple monster with poisonous claws and teeth, bright red eyes, very strong ... eat people too.) Pins breathed away. She had heard of such monsters once, but she thought it was an old wives' tale, as there was no similar creature to that of the Dundons, for example.

"J- Jen? Can you let THAT shatter like that too?" Asked Pin scared. "Hmm, yes I could, but it would be a big mess.", Jen answered her. "I must think of something else!"

Finally, after a short pause for thought, he called out: "Ha! Got it! The cattle have to be laid dry! Chiisainen'eki!" The monster roared and collapsed. "You probably didn't think that you consist almost entirely of liquid! Let out the water and you're gone!"Jen shouted triumphantly.

Pin and Ruphus just stood there, like the Dundons, who were looking questioningly at the little heap of skin on the ground where the Queck once was.
