Chapter: Chapter 1: The Legend Awakens

Our story begins on a sunny morning in the capital of the continent of fog, the Kingdom of Alexandria. This was well protected against attackers as it was built on a very high mountain. Only once, 200 years ago, was it almost wiped out. At that time the Holy Tribunal was rung in, which Garnet II and Eiko, the last Esper at the time, directed. The Bestia Bahamut attacked the city, but Alexander, the Holy Bestia, destroyed Bahamut with a single flap of his wing. After that, however, the castle was torn to pieces. It took a good twenty years to rebuild the castle. It was therefore a tradition in Alexandria to hold a festival every year in honor of the hardships of that time. This morning is the day before the festival, and a teenage boy, 14 years old, whose straw-blonde hair glistened in the sun, whose eyes glowed like opals and whose mouth was twisted into a grin, stood in the corner, staring at the gun shop across from.This boy's name was Karu Montré.
Soon, however, he was pulled out of his thoughts. A commotion had formed and Karu was getting curious. He pushed and pushed through the crowd until he was in the front row. A figure under a hooded cloak was apparently led away because the arms and legs of this were tied with chains. Karu's gaze followed this person's passage. She went straight to a cage and in that - Karu turned pale -
was a behemoth. A very well-built man stepped out of a shadow and the figure stopped. & # 8222; Ancient sage & # 8220; said the strong man in a cool voice, & # 8222; you have been named as a traitor to your people. Do you plead guilty? & # 8220; You could see that the Ancient Sage had pulled a grin on his face. & # 8222; Confess guilty? & # 8220; he asked in a mocking tone, & # 8222; why should I plead guilty if I am only looking for the rightful owner of soul power?Zidane Tribal's soul power belongs to the one warrior, the descendant of Zidane, and not to the ancient sages! & # 8220; The crowd mumbled in agreement, but Karu didn't know what the man under the cloak meant. Again the cupboard spoke of a man. & # 8222; The verdict is death in public. The execution will be carried out by this Behemoth creature in the cage. & # 8220; & # 8222; As you think, & # 8220; grinned the ancient sage, & # 8222; But I have to give someone something first. & # 8220; The man walked slowly towards the uncomprehending looking Karu. He put his hand in his cloak and pulled out a ball, not quite the size of a fist. The ancient sage held it out to Karu, who slowly took it. The ball turned red and disappeared where Karu's heart was. & # 8222; Grab it !! & # 8220; shouted the stocky man. The Behemoth was released from the cage. But something funny happened.He rushed into the crowd and snapped at people. The ancient sage grinned at Karu, put a short sword in his hand and said: & # 8222; This is the sword you have wanted for a long time. Use your new power and destroy the Behemoth! You may not know, but Gaia is on the verge of destruction. Then get on your way and find the other chosen ones! We will definitely see each other again & # 8230; & # 8220; & # 8222; Stop! & # 8220; shouted Karu, & # 8222; How do I use this power? & # 8220; But with the flutter of his cloak, the sage was gone. Karu stood there indecisively. People's screams penetrated his ear, and many would certainly perish & # 8230; But suddenly Karu felt something awaken within himself, it was as if something else was inside him. Mechanically he turned to face the beast. She threatened a beautiful girl Karu's age. She had long black hair and held a kind of stick in her hand that shot fireballs.A magician, it crossed his mind. If I help her, thought Karu, and somehow use this soul power, we can do it & # 8230; and then I ask her to go with me. Grinning, he ran towards the Behemoth. But the grin vanished when the monster Karu noticed himself, turned to him and opened its mouth. Karu jumped into the air, aimed at the beast's nostrils and did what seemed to him the most sensible thing - he struck with the short sword. The Behemoth didn't mind, however, and so Karu ran to the magician girl to save her. & # 8222; Get out of here, go! & # 8220; Karu yelled at her. But the girl just looked at Karu in amazement. & # 8222; You are the bearer of a soul power and do not use it? & # 8220; she asked. At that moment, Karu couldn't think of how she could know and said: & # 8222; If you know how & # 8217; it works, then tell & # 8217; it to me, quick! & # 8220; But instead of responding to his request, she said: & # 8222; I have a plan.I'll open his mouth in a moment with my flame spell and you'll shoot in, okay? & # 8220; She ran away. & # 8222; How to shoot, with what? & # 8220; Karu called after her, but she didn't answer. She had turned pale, Karu saw her face from the side. Before he could ask himself what could have frightened her, he knew. There wasn't just one behemoth - there were suddenly at least ten of them. Karu looked up for a brief moment and saw a person who was leaning over a tower, grinning and watching something. The girl's scream, however, roused Karu from inaction. It was pushed into a corner, the staff lay broken on the ground and she whimpered. Nobody in the crowd did anything, they just stood there and stared at the monsters. All this made Karu so angry that he didn't know exactly what he was doing afterwards. Everything happened so fast. He ran obsessively towards the monster, jumped much higher than usual to the monster's head and struck with all his might.But instead of a simple sword cut you saw something very unusual: something white, which was even brighter than light, shot out of the blade of the short sword and cut the monster right in the middle. Blood spurted into the frightened crowd and poured over the stone floor. Now Karu knew how to do it. He now ran towards the other monsters, jumped even higher than he had just straight and drew a semicircle in the air with his sword, which destroyed all the other Behemoths with the brilliantly bright magic. Dripping blood, Karu landed on the ground again. He hardly noticed the cheering crowd any more. A feeling of bottomless depth came over every part of his body, and the last thing he heard was a thud on the floor.
The Ancient Sage stood nearby and watched the action. Grinning, he turned and walked away. & # 8222; Yes, yes, now it's getting serious & # 8220; he muttered, & # 8222; The one warrior is born!& # 8220;
