Chapter: Day dreams
2. Daydreams
The morning started badly. Jade opened her eyes and was in a bad mood.
She had had her old nightmare again. She sat up wearily and rubbed her eyes. Then she went to the window and pulled the curtain aside.
The light of the rising sun gilded the snow that covered the bushes in the hotel park. A smile crossed Jades' face.
She took out her suitcase and unpacked the things. On the side she chose her outfit for the day. She pulled her hair up in a few simple steps, but unlike usual, she tucked her blade onto her belt and hid it with her top.
A quick look in the mirror and at the clock and she went downstairs to breakfast in a moderate mood. There they were just starting to apply and were amazed at the early visitor. After all, it was only five o'clock.
Jade swallowed something and considered leaving the laptop further up in the suite for now. Then she stopped and frowned. With the best will in the world, she couldn't remember putting the laptop on the table.
But yesterday I was dead tired too, she calmed herself down and went to the park to enjoy the fresh morning air a little.
The silence in the park was beautiful compared to the noise the technician was used to from her hometown.
Since the incident that had so changed the lives of the two sisters, she had lived in a pretty old house near a small town in Germany, but you never forgot the noise.
It stayed in the blood, so to speak, and taught you to enjoy the silence. And Jade did it to the fullest. For a long time she just let herself be carried by her feet and her thoughts wander.
Tala met the rest of his teammates in the living area of the suite.
"Oh, already awake?" he said and sat down with them. "Everyone except our new one.Seems to be a late sleeper. "Spencer said scornfully.
“She went pretty far yesterday,” Ian interjected. At that moment the door opened and Jade entered with a dreamy expression and humming softly.
When she saw the Demolition Boys, who all looked slightly puzzled, she stopped immediately and her expression also changed.
"Oh, good morning. I didn't know you were awake already." She said, slightly puzzled. Tala eyed her. She was wearing a long coat, there was still some snow on her boots and her cheeks were flushed.
“You were outside,” he realized rather than asking. Jade smiled briefly.
"Yes, the morning air is just lovely." "How long have you been up?" Ian asked curiously. "Mmh, since half or twenty to five," she guessed. “But now I'll get some tea to warm up.” With these words, she left the room.
Won!You won! They were world champions in Beybladen!
The four girls in the white dresses couldn't believe their luck.
They fell into each other's arms and wept for joy. The referee came with the organizer to give them the trophy. Two little girls from the audience rushed to the winners. Their blond hair waved wildly around their faces.
They fell around the neck of two of the girls. They picked them up and took them in their arms while they hugged themselves tightly. At this moment…
Jade shook her head. The images of her nightmare came back to her again.
She tried to focus on the analysis that turned her laptop into the Demolition Boys training, but again those images came up in her ...
The two little girls beamed at the two black-haired bladers. Except for the eyes, they looked totally alike, only one had cat-green eyes and the other cornflower-blue ...Jade struggled desperately. She didn't want to see it again.
The boys didn't notice anything, they concentrated on their blades and training.
Tears filled Jade's eyes.
She tried one last time to fight the images, but it was too late.
The images filled her whole consciousness, burned into her soul.
Your last resistance fell ...
A bang. The brown-haired girl of the four fell. Her face had a puzzled expression as she touched her chest and felt the warm blood. Screams grew loud.
Another, red-blond girl ran to her.
The other two stared at her, stunned.
Even the red-blonde fell, still in the course.
She screamed the name of the first one again, Mina, then doubled over in pain.
As if in a trance, one of the black-haired two watched as men ran into the audience towards a hooded figure. She saw him raise the gun again and aim.The other black-haired girl screamed Lilli and wanted to run to the second fallen girl. This did not move. Her eyes looked into space. Another bang tore the air apart. And another one. The men had reached the shooter.
He threw the gun away and ran. The girl stared at the little one in her arms.
She didn't understand. The other collapsed sobbing. The first finally understood.
The little ones had intercepted the bullets intended for the two bladers for them. She slumped, the girl held tight to her.
She screamed.
Jade screamed. The laptop fell, but she wasn't paying attention.
She felt the warmth of the blood. Looked into those empty eyes.
And screamed. Tears ran down her cheeks.
She felt the pain and sadness tear her heart apart.
And the blood kept running.
Someone tried to hold onto her. She thrashed out.The blood flowed like red tears ...
And suddenly it was all over. She felt a sharp pain on her cheek and opened her eyes. And looked into Tala's face. And even thought he saw concern in his ice-blue eyes.
Confused, she lifted her head and saw Spencer, who pressed his hands to his stomach.
Ian stood next to him and couldn't help but smile derisively.
Bryan let go of her arms. "What ... what happened?" she stuttered and noticed that her whole face was wet with tears. She angrily wiped them away with her sleeve.
The Demolition Boys, as far as can be said of them, looked at them with concern.
"We should probably ask you that." Bryan answered and crouched down next to her. Confused, Jade registered that she was lying on the floor. Apparently she fell off the bench when she thrashed out. "I ... I'm not sure what was going on." She lied and found that she was still shaking."I had a daydream and somehow, well, it turned into a nightmare. It's ... it's all ok." Jade noticed how unbelievable she sounded and tried to change the subject quickly. "What's the matter with Spencer?" she asked. Spencer was still holding his stomach and moaning to himself.
"You gave him a good kick in the pit of his stomach. You knocked something out earlier, you know?" grinned Ian. “Oh.” Jade looked at him, concerned.
She was barely able to hold back to apologize, remembering that apologizing was taboo with the Demolition Boys.
“What was really going on now?” Tala asked. Immediately it went quiet again.
Jade cursed him softly in her mind. “I don't know myself, I usually don't react that violently to nightmares.” She avoided it. But now Bryan Tala came to the rescue.
"Must have been pretty terrible. What was it?" Jade noticed that they would not be fobbed off.So she resorted to her last resort.
She stood up, swaying slightly. "I'm sorry, but I don't want to talk about it." She said as coolly as possible and picked up the laptop. Then she left the training room, which was also in the suite, and went to her room. She set the laptop down on the dresser and happened to look in the mirror. Her face was deathly pale and there was something haunted in her eyes. Now Jade understood why even the Demolition Boys had been concerned or frightened. “What am I doing?” She muttered, propping her head up.
