No. 2 - Suspicious moments

It's not true that life is one damn thing after another; it is one damn thing over and over.
Edna St. Vincent Millay

About a hundred meters away, on the other end of the icy plateau, a tall man with a strong and incredibly evil aura had appeared ...

"Shit," she commented on her discovery. She hated it when unpleasant premonitions were justified. The person opposite just grinned broadly and went straight into an attack position.

With a growl that was both despair and anger, she prepared to attack and increased her energy level a little. At the same time she could feel how half a dozen beings on her left did the same. There was no surprised mine, however, because she had already expected Son Goku and his followers before Shenlong appeared. Much more, she felt a faint astonishment why they had held back for so long. She would have preferred a different time for this completely different confrontation.

A low sigh came from her lips as she assured herself of the patience of her opponent and then vanished into thin air.

The stranger appeared out of nowhere in front of twelve astonished eyes. Not even Kuririn found his language again quickly enough to forestall it and that should mean a lot.

"I know who you are and I know what you want. But this is only my business. I will fight the fight alone. This is not a request!" Her voice sounded firm and controlled, which was not quite the reality . In the same instant she was gone again, leaving the completely surprised Z-warriors behind.

Son Goku was completely confused."That was ..." he began slowly, but then got stuck in his thoughts.

"...clear!" Son Gohan finished the sentence.

"And who was that?" Kuririn answered. All eyes were on Son Goku.

"Huh !?" he looked around and then waved his arms wildly defensively. "How should I know ???"

Kuririn mused aloud. "It was just a habit ..."

"But whoever she is: She will kill herself! The guy over there is clearly superior to her." Son Goku had collected himself again and sounded worried. There was anger in the air - the feeling became almost physical.

"And what bothers you about it?" Vegeta asked impassively and earned several killing looks; but no one was really surprised at the objection.

The stranger had materialized again and at the same moment an icy wind came up, as if someone wanted to remind them in what inhospitable area they were.

“Are you finally ready, sweetheart !?” A scornful, derogatory grin spread over his whole face.“Be careful not to let your teeth fall out when you grin!” With a scream from deep inside, she turned any recently germinated despair into energy. Her aura began to shine and a soft, unnatural wind lifted a few stones and played with her hair. Every single one of the black strands seemed to develop a life of its own and finally everyone present felt a boundary-forming energy that flowed over and away from her. To the same extent, her strands turned midnight blue from the hairline to the tips.

Son Goku was about to take off to prevent the unequal fight when Vegeta held him back: "Kakarott! You heard her! Stay out of there!"

"He's killing her!" he replied angrily and the color of his hair began to flicker.

"Look closely, you blindworm!"

Irritated, Son Goku paused and looked over at the battlefield. "How ... how is that possible - she has strength and reserves that I hadn't felt anything about before!"Fascinated, he watched her transformation. Her aura had something familiar, but he couldn't exactly say what it was.

Within a few moments she had powered herself up to the end of the level. But she felt that it would not be enough. Her counterpart adapted to every increase in energy effortlessly and without twisting a face.

The stranger suppressed all the alarm sirens that were now shrilling in her head and gathered energy for the next level. "You didn't want it any other way," she growled and her aura went up in flames. Just a second later, she had golden hair and green eyes. Tense, she unrolled a furry tail from her waist.

The assembled Z-warriors staggered back in sync as if hit by a blow. They felt like they had run into a wall.

“Wow!” Son Goku rubbed his eyes. "Do I need glasses or something !?"

Everyone else, including Vegeta, had lost their features. They struggled to maintain their composure.

"I'm standing in the forest," Trunks commented and Son Goten nodded vigorously in agreement.

"That's a ..." Pan's jaw dropped and stopped moving. Nonetheless, they all nodded in agreement, because everyone knew what she meant.

Kuririn looked at the stunned Vegeta. "Your information really doesn't seem to be what it used to be!" The person addressed gave him a withering look and concentrated again on what was happening. Is that another time travel thing?

She was getting really pissed off. The grin of her opponent got bigger and bigger - as far as that was possible at all - the more she increased her energy level. There didn't seem to be a point where she would finally outdo him. Even the double SSJ level brought her nothing more than a few amazed looks from the audience. Her mind reminded her of the hint from Shenlong - maybe she couldn't win this time. But the stranger had just put her mind behind a wall of hatred and rage. Nevertheless, the realization matured that she would not get any further with an even higher energy level. So there was only one option left.

She clenched her fists and each finger dug deep into her palms. "You didn't want it any other way," she pressed out between her teeth and went on to attack.

Her body blurred right in front of his eyes and materialized behind him in the same instant. But before she could land a hit with a head-sized ball of energy from her hands, he had improved his cover and smashed the crackling structure towards the sky. Using the same tactic, the stranger started a new attempt: after she had disappeared, a blast approached the man with tremendous speed directly from the clouds. However, he was not impressed, took a quick step to the left and then flew into the sky.The impact left a five-meter-deep crater exactly where it had just stood. The so far very one-sided fight continued in the air and there were only a few really surprised faces among the spectators.

Without a single counterattack, the stranger continued her attacks and had to find desperate to find that each, like the previous one, was ineffective in the cover of its opponent. By now she was completely convinced that every jump to any higher level was just a useless waste of energy. She couldn't feel his reserves, but suddenly she realized that they were inexhaustible, no matter how far she would go.

She glared at him angrily because he hadn't lifted a finger to launch his own attack. And as unexpected as inevitable, he wiped through her cover with a simple arm movement and hit her chin. A little dazed, she lost a few meters before she had processed the horror and caught herself."Well babe, too fast !?" His grin went from ear to ear.

An almost devout silence had settled over the scene and even the wind had lost all power and seemed to give up. With a demonstrative gesture, she wiped the blood from the left corner of her mouth. She had no choice but to use the only effective technique she already had. Almost in resignation, she closed her eyes, stretched her arms to either side with bent hands and her teeth began to grind hard on each other. She concentrated all of her energies - even those from the next higher level without having to transform - and bundled them in a spherical layer, the center of which she formed. For the few moments her opponent waited patiently and without any sign of alarm. The structure around her shone and crackled in various shades of blue and was very much like a protective shield - until that moment when the stranger opened her now midnight blue eyes and looked straight at the person opposite. With a speed that the eyesight could no longer grasp, the energy concentrated and shot towards its intended target. He had just enough time to pull his crossed arms up to cover, before the impact with tremendous force and crackling discharges cleared everything out of the way.

Completely out of breath, she sank back to the ground and supported herself with her hands on her knees. She was already struggling to maintain double SSJ levels. Her bowels all knotted and untied once, making it clear to her that the fight was far from over. As if to confirm it, a stone rumbled from a small mound of rubble, followed by others, and finally the figure to which it owed its inglorious position. He looked a bit battered on the outside, but his still constant energy level literally burned into her senses. She already saw death approaching her in the form of her opponent, because nothing else was expected of him.Only for this reason they pulled themselves together again, straightened up and bundled their very last energies in a flash, which they hurled against him in the form of a tremendous pressure wave. A faint grin crossed his face, then he traced a semicircle with his hands from bottom to top, creating an electrically charged mirror surface. The pressure wave bounced off her ineffectively and now raced towards the sender like a boomerang. However, this was no longer in a position to undertake a defensive movement in any way. Accordingly, she was hit hard and thrown several tens of meters through the air before she - already unconscious - collided with a rock.
