Fanfic: Endzeit und Neubeginn

the Mother Superior on the upper arm.
"There are clothes in the closet behind you, tell the boy that he can take what he wants."
The Mother Superior nodded.
"I'll tell him, but only after I've taken care of your wounds."
The Mother Superior tended his wounds with great care, after she had put on and fastened the last bandage, she got up and went over to Alex.He sat with the children and paid attention to each one; she knelt next to him, pointed to the cupboard and lowered her voice.
"Father Miles says you can get some clothes, I'll stay here with the kids."
Alex nodded and got up and went to the closet.
Slowly he searched the closet until he found something he liked.
He decided on black leather pants, black military boots, a red T-shirt and a black leather jacket.
He stepped slowly forward and sat down next to Angelina on the floor and looked at her.
Angelina noticed that of course, she looked at him briefly several times.
"What do you have Alex?"
"You are scared."
She looked at him again briefly, looked into those gray / silver eyes for a moment.
"No I have not."
"Yes, I can feel it. Your fear fills the environment, it mixes with the fear of the children and fills the bus with it."
Father Miles heard that too.
"Boy, come over to me."
The priest pointed next to him, Alex got up and nodded to Angelina again before walking over and sitting next to Father Miles."What do you want from me old man?"
"You are not a normal boy."
"No, I am."
Alex lowered his voice and told the priest what he himself had learned from Angelina.
And so Father Miles learned of the strange circumstances under which Alex had ended up in Angelina's care.
"I understand, you are a good boy, you saved the children's lives. What's more, with your quick reaction you saved us all."
"Father Miles."
Angelina's call came as a surprise.
"Yes Sister."
She turned around a little.
"I think we're there."
Miles tried to get up, but his strength wasn't enough, Alex held out a hand to him.
"I help you."
He nodded and took the hand, supported by Alex he could look outside.
In the slowly fading darkness of the new morning there was something like an old fortress to be seen, large, massive, and strewn with crosses.
"Yes, we are here."
Miles opened the door of the bus and was supported by Alex and led to the large main gate.Actually, Father Miles wanted to knock on the heavy gate, but he barely managed to raise his arm all the way.
Alex raised his free arm and hit the gate three times as hard as he could.
It took a moment, but then a small barred window opened at head height.
"Yes." came a woman's voice.
Miles pushed forward a little so that he could be seen better.
"I am father Joshua Miles, a brother of the sword. We ask you to let in."
He took out a small pendant and showed it, immediately the gate opened and a young woman appeared.
"Come here quickly ... you are seriously injured."
Miles nodded and pointed to the bus.
"We are not alone."
Now Angelina and the Mother Superior appeared with the children and came up to us.
"I understand, come in quickly, the sun hasn't risen yet."
The young woman closed the gate behind them and led them across a small courtyard to the main building and from there directly into an empty dormitory."Take a rest first, you don't have to fear anything here anymore."
Then she turned to Alex.
"And you help me get Brother Miles to the sick bay."
Alex nodded and followed her supportively through the building to a well-equipped hospital area.
"Why is there no sister here ...?"
The young woman turns around.
".... Katrina, but I am not a sister. I am the attending doctor here. And you are right, there are not very many people here."
Katrina pointed to a treatment couch and Alex understood, he put Miles there and sat on the couch next to it.
She began removing the old bandages and treating the wounds.
"But why is there nobody here, a whole division of the Order should be here. Where are they now?"
The young woman hung her head.
"You went into town three days ago to dig a vampire nest. We haven't heard from you here since."
"And who else is here besides you?""A dozen newcomers, some nuns and priests, and more refugees. It doesn't look very good."
Father Miles turned to Alex.
"Please go to the armory, I think it would be better if we are not unarmed."
Alex nodded, jumped down from the cot and walked slowly out of the hospital ward.
When he was gone, the doctor turned to Father Miles.
"But now, brother Miles, please tell me what happened."
"The children, the two women and the boy are the only survivors of the old orphanage. The Lord guided me and led me to the orphanage, there I met two strong vampires. They had already killed most of the children when I got there. .... "
Katrina listened quietly to Father Miles' tale as she bandaged his wounds.

Alex quietly left the hospital area and immediately turned to the left and went on a discovery tour in this unknown wall.
He recognized the first room he entered as a kitchen, a very large kitchen.Alex noticed that his stomach was growling heavily, he approached the refrigerator and opened it.
After a little rummaging, he found a sandwich and a small bottle of orange juice.
Armed in this way, he set off again in search of the armory.
When he saw a staircase leading down, he decided to go down there, assuming the armory was there.
When he reached the top of the stairs he knew that this was the right place for him.
In two corridors that led to the right and left, rifles were lined up on shelves.
He followed the right corridor to a large room and found a well-stocked armory.
He took a bag and put two 9mm automatics and some extra magazines in it.
Then he left the room and then followed the left corridor, which also ended in a large room.
Alex walked purposefully to a gun rack and took out two pump guns.
Since the rifles had carrying straps, he hung them around himself and took a small box of ammunition with him.The last thing he was standing in front of a weapons cabinet with swords, he needed a moment until he had decided on two blades, at the end he took out a heavy saber and a katana.
Suddenly Alex got a strange feeling, he walked quickly back to the stairs and back up to the ground floor.
He ran back to the infirmary AS fast as he could, only to see that Father Miles was still on the bed and apparently asleep.
The doctor was still there, she looked at Alex surprisingly.
"What's happening?"
Alex looked around.
"I don't know, something is wrong here. I have such a bad feeling about it."
Alex put down all weapons except for the katana and a PumpGun, he loaded the weapon and then looked back at the doctor.
"Stay here and wake up the old man in an emergency."
Alex slowly went back to the hallway in front of the hospital area.
He looked around and let instincts guide him, he turned to the left.As he walked, he strapped the katana onto his back and held the PumpGun loosely in his right hand with the barrel down.
After a few minutes he was standing in front of the bedroom where the others slept.
Although his instinct told him that the danger came from somewhere else, he wanted to see the others first.
He quietly opened the door and stepped into the room, reading, walking past the beds, covering some of the children completely.
He stopped at Angelina's bed, until then he always saw Angelina as something like a mother, but since the events a few hours ago he also thought about it differently.
And then this red-haired vampire ... the way she looked at him and smiled at him ... he just didn't know what to think of it.
When Angelina moved slightly in her bed, Alex decided to leave again.
When he was back in the hallway in front of the dormitory and had closed the door behind him an ice-cold shiver sent a chill down his spine. His head twitched from right to left, but there was nothing there, just empty semi-dark corridors.
He could already see the first rays of sun outside through a small window and breathed a sigh of relief.
At dawn the danger would pass for the first time, he felt his instinct signaling that there was hardly any danger left.
Alex went back to the hospital area where the doctor was still waiting.
"Is everything ok."
After putting down the sword and rifle and throwing his leather jacket on a couch, he lay down on another free couch.
The doctor came back to him.
"Is everything all right, I asked?"
Alex was lying there with his eyes closed and arms folded behind his head when he answered.
"Yes, the sun is already about to rise, for now everything is fine again."
"Until the sun goes down again and night and darkness come again," he added in his mind.

Meanwhile in the mountains on the other side of town in a dark castle.Lady Marianna of House Drake was furious; she hadn't felt such anger in years.
"That damn boy humiliated me, me, one of the noble blood of Dracul. And you didn't do anything."
Her head jerked around and she impaled her subordinates with her gaze.
The red-haired vampire dropped to one knee and looked down.
"I'm sorry mistress, but he resisted my gaze. I was completely powerless."
Marianna picked up a comb and began to comb her dark hair, then went on quietly.
"I want you to find him no matter how long it takes. I want this boy's head."
"Yes mistress, I'll find him."
The vampire withdrew quietly and discreetly.
When she had disappeared through the door, an older man in a black cape entered. He was tall, had a distinctive face and gray temples.
"Marianna, what's up."
"Father!!"
Marianna jumped up and ran into her father's arms.
"I was humiliated father."Count Johann Drake looked at his daughter with his deep red eyes.
"What happened."
He led her to bed and then sat next to her.
Marianna took a deep breath.
"I was humiliated by a boy, I paid a little
