I don't know if it was the heat or the stomach tingling caused by her touch, but suddenly the strength returned to my joints and I quickly jumped a few steps back. I had visibly startled her because her left hand was still in the air, at the level of my forehead. Slowly she let it sink down. Ashamed, she looked to the side. "Sorry ... I thought you were Kai ... I wanted to ... uh, I don't mean to offend you ... but that would have been absurd ... why should he be here ... him had told me that he won't be here for the Christmas holidays ... it was really stupid of me to hope that he would be there anyway ... "Her voice was so sad that it stung my heart.She spun around and took small steps away from me.
