Fanfic: Das Glück der Erde

Chapter: The happiness of the earth

It was a warm summer afternoon. The sun burned down from the sky and now and then a few thick clouds pushed themselves in front of the warming rays of the fireball.
The flowers in the front gardens, the fine family houses, longed for water and the first residents would soon start watering. Here in the housing estate everyone made sure that everything was clean and tidy. Some even overdid it.
The clatter of glass and the horrific sound of a door slamming interrupted the elegant atmosphere. A girl about fourteen was walking down the street with a flushed cheek and watery eyes. Some of the neighbors looked partly curious, partly amused from the windows.
"The poor girl," an older woman started, "When your parents put you under such pressure, it's terrible."
A slightly younger one said: "I can understand my parents very well. She never tidies her room and she always smells of those horrible horses! My hand would have slipped long ago."An older man joined in the conversation between the two women: "If your hand slips you can still be forgiven, but the way the mother hits the poor child? Your back must be covered with bruises. "
People continued to argue for a long time. The girl ran out of town. Across wide meadows, through a remote forest and finally reached a road littered with potholes. Here she took her first break. Panting, she sat down on a large stone and wiped her eyes dry with trembling hands. Her throat hurt terribly and there were red marks on it. Her mother had had a real seizure when she saw that her daughter had beaten up another math test.
You can ride like crazy but you are just too stupid for math and finally clean up your room, you little bitch! You're a disgusting piece of shit, her mother had said and started beating her.With a loud sigh, she got up again and followed the path. She came to a ramshackle house with a small barn, a stable and a rusted carousel. ( 1 )
The girl went out onto the veranda, which, like the rest of the house, could use a paint job and rang the bell. A high-pitched hum rang through the house and inside a dog began to bark. After a few moments the door was opened and a man of about thirty appeared. He had a tanned face, friendly gray-blue eyes, short, black hair and a cappi was on his head. The man also wore black boots, dark blue jeans and a plaid shirt.
"Aiofee! What happened?", He asked and gave way to the girl so that she could enter.
"I don't want to go home anymore," she sniffed.
The man's soft features suddenly changed and became severe. Now his sister had clearly gone too far.While he was asking his niece to make a cocoa, he went into the living room, made a phone call to set up a court date.
The trial took place the very next day. The hearing lasted about an hour and the judge had decided that Aiofee should live with her uncle from now on.

~~~ 2 years later ~~~
Spring had come again and Tyson, the Beyblade world champion, passed his time training a little with his Dragoon. After all, the three-time world champion did not want to let up.
His grandfather had been watching his grandson for a long time. Only he had this stupid game on his mind. He'd been telling him to mow the lawn for days, but Tyson just hadn't. When Dragoon then landed a violent crack in the garden wall and caused quite a lot of damage, the old man's thread burst. As fast as his feet allowed he ran into the house, leafed through the phone book and when he finally found the number he was looking for, he started dialing.After five toots, someone finally answered.
"Patch of Heaven racing stud. Dave at the apparatus. What can I do for you?"
"Hi Dave! Granger here," laughed Tyson's grandfather.
Dave was one of the best friends of his son-in-law, Tyson's father. At the other end there was also a heartfelt question about what could be done for Mr. Granger.
"It's about my grandson.", The older man grumbled, "He only has this game on his mind and I wanted Tyson to do something different for a change. I was hoping you could help me?"
"How exactly do you mean that?" Someone asked on the other end of the line.
Mr. Granger took a deep breath. "I thought you might need some help with yourself and I could drive him around quickly."
Dave thought for a moment. "Actually, a little help really wouldn't be bad. When could he come?"
"He's coming right away!" Said Mr.Granger quickly, hung up and went back outside."TYSON !!", his grandfather let go of a roar and the blue-haired man came reluctantly to him.
"What's up?" He asked bored and looked at Dragoon. Instead of getting an answer, Tyson was grabbed by the arm and dragged to the car. Though he protested violently, Tyson got in anyway and buckled up. His grandfather stared at the car and drove off. Tyson was amazed when he heard that he should help out on a horse farm from now on. But all the pleading and begging of the blue-haired man did not help. His grandfather remained stubborn and drove on. They left the city and went further and further into the country. After they passed a small forest, his grandfather turned into a finely tarred road. When they reached the stud, Tyson couldn't suppress a loud "BOAH!" That was pure luxury here. Everything seemed to be green and blooming here. A few horses grazed on the three paddocks and raised their heads in curiosity. The brown, black and red furs shimmered in the sun and you could tell that they felt very comfortable.Next to the paddocks were two carousels that looked like they had just been polished. In each of the carousels there were two horses that were not that old. To the right of it was a white house and a little further to the left was a gigantic stable complex, next to this there was also a barn, the gates of which were open and gave a view into the interior. A green tractor and three horse trailers were parked there. Tyson guessed that all the straw and hay was in the attic. He was only torn from his thoughts when his grandfather stopped the car and he jerked forward a little. Tyson unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car. At that moment there was a loud barking and two Rottweilers and two Dobermans came around the corner of the barn.
"Take it easy, boys," someone said and whistled the dogs back. A middle-aged man came out of the barn and shook hands with Tyson's grandfather.
"Tyson, this is Dave. He is a very good friend of your father and will be keeping an eye on you for the next few days.", his grandfather explained and he also shook hands with Dave. After his grandfather had disappeared again, Dave immediately told his new protégé about the next tasks:" We are now going behind the stables, to the training grounds, mine is working there Niece with a yearling mare. The best thing is to stay there, watch a little and then you can start clearing out the stables. "
Tyson obediently nodded and followed Dave to the stables. What the blue-haired man saw left him speechless. A racetrack, as he knew it from films, was laid out further back and in front of it there was a marked out space. In the middle of the square was a girl, about his age or a little younger, leaning a black horse with white legs. It looked like the mare was wearing socks. The girl was fully focused on her work. She wore faded overalls and a blue t-shirt. Her red-blonde hair fell loosely on her shoulders and the blue-gray eyes clung to the petite horse.She looked very different from the girls in his class. Not so snooty and decked out.
"That's my niece.", Dave started to explain, "Her name is Aiofee. You can call her Ai-chan or Fee." Dave and Tyson watched her for a while. "Okay, that's enough. Bring them back to the stable. But come here for a minute first."
Aiofee stopped the mare, rolled up the lunge and then patted the animal's neck in praise. Only now did she realize that her uncle wasn't alone.
"The Tyson, he'll help here in the next few days. You'd better go with her right away. Fee will show you everything. I have to go over to the Maylandrom and Sky Dancer.", Dave said goodbye and left the two of them alone .
"What is Maylandrom?" Tyson asked as he followed Fee into the stable.
"It's a trotting track, about two hours' drive from here. Can you give me the lead ropes, please?" Asked Fee. Tyson looked around. He hadn't the faintest idea what the girl wanted from him.With luck, he finally grabbed two thick strips of fabric with hooks at the ends and handed them to her. Apparently that was right, because Fee said nothing. She attached the lead ropes left and right to the halter and then to the walls. The mare couldn't get away like this.
"Do you know about horses?" Asked Fee and got a cleaning box.
"No, not at all.", She answered honestly, embarrassed.
Fee groaned inwardly. A completely inexperienced big city guy, on a stud, with valuable thoroughbreds. If that's not a disaster. Fortunately, the trotters were not bred as high as the galoppers and were therefore a lot calmer. He only had to be extremely careful with some of the stallions. And now that the mares have their foals, some of them were snappy too.
"Well, this is Cecelie L 'Amour and she's actually a real love. Come here, I'll show you how to clean a horse."
Fee explained everything to Tyson exactly and he also tried to do everything well.He groomed the mare just as she had shown him. Cecelie eyed the newcomer a little suspiciously, sensing that he was a novice in the field. It wasn't until Fee started talking to the mare that she relaxed. Tyson listened to the girl's voice. She spoke softly and reassuringly. After Tyson had properly brushed the fur and mane under Fee's scrutiny, she showed him how to scratch out hooves. Even though he was feeling a little queasy, Tyson still scratched out his hooves. Then her legs were hosed down a bit and Cecelie was put back in her box. Tyson opened his mouth in amazement as he stepped inside the stable. In here it was bright white and so clean you could have eaten off
