Kagome woke up early that morning. It didn't seem light for too long, because it was still cool, but where she was awake, she could stay awake. She ate a little more before leaving the hut. Nobody but Kagome seemed awake. She stood in front of her hut for a moment and looked up at the sky before checking on her friends. Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kirara were still sleeping in their huts. Kagome went to Inuyasha’s sleeping quarters and noticed that he was not there. "He's probably wandering around somewhere again ..." she thought to herself. She looked around and then decided to take a walk in the woods.But Kagome paid no heed to the path she was taking, and so after a few minutes ended up at the well. It was gradually getting warmer and life in the forest was slowly awakening. Kagome sat down under one of the trees when she heard a noise. Something seemed to be moving in the treetop between the leaves. She looked up and noticed something red, which also seemed to be responsible for the noise. “Inuyasha? “Kagome asked hesitantly. "Oh it's you, Kagome .." came from above and Inuyasha jumped down. "What brings you here? “Kagome wanted to know and looked at Inuyasha questioningly. She almost jumped up, but was able to catch herself at the last moment. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Immediately by Inuyasha was Kikyo. Kagome stayed in hiding for a few moments, watching them both. She couldn't understand what they were saying, but she didn't care now either. Carefully, Kagome got up and stepped out of her hiding place. She had to hold on to a tree to keep from falling. The little demon's poison seemed to be taking effect. "So that's it ..." Kagome said softly, but still loud enough for Inuyasha to hear. He looked up and saw Kagome."Kagome ..." he said slowly but surprised. Kagome looked at him. No one turned away from the other. Kikyo took a few steps back and turned to go, but Inuyasha stopped her. Now it was Kagome who turned around, took one last look at Inuyasha and Kikyo, and started walking. Slowly at first, but faster with every step. Tears ran down her face. Inuyasha looked around frantically. Now he had to make a decision for better or for worse. Kikyo, or Kagome. He didn't know what to do, the only thing he knew was that he didn't have much time to think about it. If he chose Kikyo, he would drive Kagome out of here, he knew that. She would never go back to that era. But if he chose Kagome, Kikyo would only hate him even more. No matter how he twisted it, he decided on one, he'd lost the other. Inuyasha stood indecisive and helpless.Then he turned to the side, looked at Kikyo over his shoulder, and said softly, "I'm sorry ...". With that, he turned in the direction Kagome had run and ran after him as fast as he could. Hopefully it's not too late ... I have to make it ...
