Fanfic: Eine Geschichte / Die Sprache des Auges

Subtitle: Es passiert nie mehr als einmal im Leben und lässt uns nie wieder los

Chapter: This day

A story that could or even is true, depending on what you define as truth ...

~ This is my very first story. It's also my longest story, and one that I've tried the most with. I had a lot of fun writing them and maybe brought me a little further. I hope you like it too. Have fun by LoveYami. ~

Another tip: the story is mostly told from Mariko's point of view.

This day

It was a terrible morning. Not only that I had only slept 3 hours and had to get up for school (I owe that to this stupid presentation and this old Latin text ...). I fear that my life has lost all meaning for a long time.

Because this person, who was the reason why I showed up at school every day, had left my life. Now, after everything finally came to an end, I noticed that I actually had nothing. In the end, it was all just imagination, which I had entered myself into. Anyway, now there was only the lonely, ice-cold emptiness for me.

I got up and somehow got ready for school, picked up the heavy school bag and went my way ...

When I got to the classroom, I put the result of my sleepless night on the table and waited for the teacher to talk to me about the presentation. But strangely enough, he kept talking and seemed to have forgotten me. It doesn't matter ... I wasn't in the mood for the lecture anyway and the preparation wasn't the best either. I was about to fall asleep when a strange voice rang out next to my ear:

"Sorry, is the chair still free?"

I woke up and looked around. But what did I see ?! Big eyes that looked at me kindly and confidently? In that shabby classroom! Here and now! A little absent-mindedly I replied:

"Yes of course..."

But the stranger only pulled the chair over to a neighboring single table, where his jacket and bag were already lying.A little disappointed, I saw how he quickly took the teaching materials out of his pocket.

"Another one of those new students who show up out of nowhere?" I thought.

He had large, purple eyes and blond rays.

"This strange hairstyle ... does he actually have blonde or black hair? And that reddish shimmer in between ?! I had never seen such eyes before ... strikingly large and also this color and the expressive shape ... but I have to say that everything together has its special charm ... "

"Mariko! Now I'll pass the word on to you ... please come forward!"

"... !!? ... My presentation !! Great, now it's time to face my inevitable" fate "in front of all the people ..."

I went to the board, made some sketches and started:

"... The special abilities of these plants enable them to survive even in soil with a very high salt content ..."

I looked around and met this strange look. Was the new guy grinning?Did he see through my poor preparation? No, it couldn't be, I had only just started! Just don't show any uncertainty ...

The others sat listlessly in their seats and did not even look up. But I was used to that. Maybe it was even better that way, because then my mistakes wouldn't be so obvious. But this stranger with his gaze ... he looked me straight in the eye and seemed to be able to see my thoughts ... how oppressive! Was he so interested in this topic ... Hopefully he didn't ask any more questions, because I really had no idea other than what I had written down ... the others apparently didn't notice anything anyway, so they couldn't ask either. ..

I was already at my 5th and last sheet. I tried to close my lecture as naturally as possible in order to dispel any suspicion of insufficient knowledge:

"... Thanks to these adaptation mechanisms ... this plant ... was also able to occupy this ecological niche ... which again represents an example ... of the course of a long evolutionary history ...Any more questions? "

With an exaggeratedly direct, questioning look, I looked at the group of newly awakened students and was about to take the direction of my seat when this someone, this newcomer, raised his hand.

That could be cheerful!

"Yes, please?"

"Can you please explain the part with the osmosis again? Unfortunately, I didn't get along very well."

"Em ..... osmosis ... is very important for cell function ... water balance and ....."

I could no longer perceive the rest of what I was giving of myself. The teacher looked at me sternly. As if by a miracle, the break bell rings (Why only now? But at least ...) That probably meant that I didn't have to deal with this question in more detail until the next hour on the following day.

I packed my things and looked over at the new one. Had he made me embarrassed on purpose? Did he have something against me? I wanted to get to the bottom of the matter a little more. With not exactly friendly intentions, I asked him:"Are you new here?"

"Yes. Today is my first day."

"What's your name?"

"Yami."

"What an unusual name!" I realized.

Yami just looked up with his purple eyes and said nothing.

"It's pretty weird .." I stated again.

"Are you going to the cafeteria?" I asked.

"Good," he said and followed me up the stairs.
