Fanfic: In die Dunkelheit
Chapter: Into the dark
This is just a short story. This is the result of giving people like me with a sick fantasy the task of creating a mystery short story à la E.A. Poe (God watch over him v_v) to write. I wrote it in two lessons. Everyone who read it thought it was great. Well, I'm always critical of my own works anyway. So read for yourself, clerks would be happy. lg your DestinyWarAngel
~ Into the darkness ~
I look around. As far as I can tell, we are in a huge room. The flashlight in my hand doesn't really bring any light. But I still notice that the others are also looking around. I could hear the rustle of their jackets. Then nothing. But I got a strange smell. It smelled of musty wood and stale water. No wonder! In such an old house ...
"We should go further. We won't find anything exciting here!" I heard the one standing on my right. But through the darkness I couldn't see who it was. I heard a murmur of approval, as did the others.
So we went on. Straight out, because there you could see a faint ray of light. Without anyone having to say anything, we ran in that direction.
Our steps echoed in the huge room. They could be heard long after we stood in front of the door. That made me feel uncomfortable. A voice in my head told me that it would be better to turn back. But I quickly banished them to the back of my head. What should the others think of me? That I'm a coward and that I run away at any sign of danger? No, definitely not.
I don't know how long, but we'll be standing in front of the door for a few minutes now. Everyone followed their own thoughts and no longer thought about what was around them. I can see that in everyone's faces as we stand very close together. The light of the flashlight, if only weak, lets me see the tense posture of everyone.
After a few seconds, however, a noise made us wince. It sounded like an old church bell was striking.
I dropped my flashlight in shock. As if moved by thunder, one of us opened the door and we stormed into the next room, closed the door behind us, paying attention to every further noise. But as suddenly as the ringing of the bell came, it disappeared again.
"What ... what was that?"
"I don't know. But it sounded like we weren't alone here!"
"Oh and why haven't we met anyone yet? Well, I would recommend anyone who enters my house without permission ..."
But I no longer listen to the boys' conversation. I'm stuck in my mind again. What if we really aren't alone? Why should the residents just let us run through their house like that? Why is the house so run down? Are here maybe ...
"Hey! Tell me, are you dreaming?"
"What ...? I ... Oh nonsense. We should go on!"
"Okay if you say so."
So let's move on. I think the boys are happy that someone is taking the lead.
Without looking back, we go up the stairs to the first floor. At least we wanted to. When the first one enters the stairs, she breaks in. He tries to hold on. At first it seems to work. I give him my hand to pull him up. He tries to reach for her. But at that very moment it falls into the depths.
As if stung by the tarantula, we ran away. Away from the stairs, all in a different direction ...
I have no idea how long I've been running. I turn a corner and run down the stairs that probably lead to the basement. I lean against a wall. My heart is beating incredibly fast against my chest. I hear the blood rushing in my ears. I blow my hot breath into the freezing cold air. This creeps slowly into my nose and spreads my body. Suddenly everything goes black around me. I'm falling ... into the infinite darkness ...
