Fanfic: Die Herrin der Drachen
Chapter: Dragon
She looked up at the place where this liquid came from. Above her was a black neck, the neck of a dragon that she had been watching for so long. Behind her his body, above / in front of her his head. How protective he was about her. Her gaze fell on the wound that was on his neck, which he sustained as he rescued her from the danger zone of the spell attack. Did he want to protect her? Could she be so sure about that? He growled softly, which drew her attention back to the wizard in front of her.
"There is actually someone who wants to protect her. Why don't you wake her up right away?"
Amazed, she looked at the now threatening, rumbling dragon. What did the wizard mean by that? But before she could ask the dragon suddenly spat fire and the wizard was history. Amazed, she looked at the pile of ashes. Then she heard him turn away to leave. “Wait!” She ran over and examined his wound. “Come with me!” He followed her to her home, then she gestured for him to wait in the garden.Quickly got bandages and went back to him. As soon as his blood touched her skin, it turned black there, but it did not stay with these spots, the color spread rapidly over her entire body. After her whole body was black, it turned back to her normal skin color. The dragon then went to the garden pond and drank, his injury had disappeared as if by magic. She sat down next to him, feeling unusually comfortable around him. She let herself sink into the grass, watching the creature, which was just looking at a sturgeon more closely. “My parents would definitely not think it would be great if you ate one of their favorites.” He turned his head in her direction and then trotted over to sit next to her. He watched her for a while before he put his head on her lap and let himself be petted.
When she was getting ready for work the next morning, her gaze fell on the dragon sleeping peacefully in the garden.Believe it or not, this creature actually slept in her garden. She stepped out, whereupon the black creature slowly raised its head, even more slowly the eyes opened a crack, before he lowered everything again, growling with relish, and went back to sleep. She thought it was a shame that this dragon couldn't speak, so he couldn't tell her anything that might be important. "I'm going to work, if you want you can stay here. I left a note for my parents." Before she left, she turned around again and looked at him, fascinated.
When she came back from work the dragon dozed. Not that he would sleep all day, now he was recovering from sleep. “Hey get up!” She was looked at from deep blue, sleepy eyes. “I don't know if you've already eaten dead fish, but I've brought you one anyway.” She unpacked the almost one meter long fish and held it under his nose.Immediately the black giant was wide awake, smoked fish seemed to be his favorite food. In one swallow the whole fish was devoured and the dragon looked happy, as far as you could tell. "I would like to know what your name is! But I will hardly find out from you!"
In the twilight the two ran through the streets of their town. Everything was peaceful, except for a few lowly demons who scurried across the streets, but the unequal couple largely bypassed. They approached the river and its smaller branches and lakes that served as floodplain. The fresh wind that blew from the river was a welcome cooling to the sultry air that gathered between the houses. When they reached their destination, they ran through the tall grass to the edge of a smaller lake. The dragon plunged into the cool water with childlike exuberance, two minutes later it had already devoured 10 really large fish and came out satisfied and dripping wet.Shake it once and it was almost dry again.
From her office she could see the meadow directly because her window was on the same level. The dragon sat down on it, as it did every day. For nine months he has been accompanying her everywhere. The security service at the chemical park quickly got used to the unusual guest. Mostly sleeping peacefully, the creature, which was black like the night, was classified as safe, even if it had a back height of 2.5 m and was almost four meters long. The dragon weighed over a ton and when he slept, small flames flickered out of his nostrils.
She looked at the dragon, which was a little too watchful today. She already knew her daily companion somewhat, after all, they had been fighting together for a long time, night after night. Today was a mild spring morning, although she could still feel the temperatures, they didn't bother her anymore.Since she was awakened as mistress of dragons, she had lost human weaknesses. Her mind was razor sharp, her reflexes faster than the eye or lightning. Both her magical and fighting skills had increased until shortly before her ultimate power. Demons no longer attacked the unlikely couple, they weren't that foolish.
Now she got up, filled a bucket with water and went out to her best friend. He got up slowly and trudged towards her. As always, the earth shook slightly under the dragon's feet and when he stuck his snout into the cool water, a certain amount evaporated, not much, but always something when he breathed out. "What are you so nervous about today? I can sense something, too, but I can't classify it." That seemed to calm the black creature a bit, at least she felt it too, because now he sat down next to her. She gently stroked the thorn-streaked body of the scales.Only strong magic attacks could damage its armor. She sat down, leaned against him and he laid his head on her lap. Now she scratched him between what she thought were the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen, whereupon he closed them enjoying and grumbling happily. His eyes were a brilliant deep-sea blue, light, thin, white lines ran through the blue, which could confuse these eyes with beautiful marble. She could lose herself in it every time, so she was fascinated by it. "For being so dangerous, you are pretty cuddly."
In the evening she stood on a hill with her boyfriend and looked at the landscape below. But suddenly she was tense and looked restlessly back and forth, then she raised her hands, building a protective wall. The dragon grabbed her and leaped back. The attack was over faster than it had started. They were now facing the master of the dogs. The dragon bowed its neck and head over her protectively. "Hard to believe. But that a dragon works together with the mistress!" "What do you want? Are you so foolish as to let it come down to a fight?" He shook his head slightly, barely noticeable, no, he wasn't that stupid. She had become strong and through her also the strength of her companion. He was a dog demon, but against such a mighty dragon that stood under the protective wall of the dragon mistress, he could do nothing.
"You have now been awakened, amazing!"
"You seem to have answered my questions."
"Well, yes. The dragons forbade you to wake up, they want to solve the problem without the mistress mentioned in the prophecy, they are of the opinion that they do not need this. But one of them opposed them. I sent you the sword, at least woke you up with it. But when he realized that that wasn't enough, he intervened at some point after he found out how. "
"What kind of prophecy is that? What will I have to do? "
"It will soon be so far, then you will have to fight with me. Otherwise all your dragons and my dogs will be destroyed, as well as our power. Your dragons fought a few descendants of our common enemy tonight, but won, but seriously wounded. You should stop them, because this time there were no victims to complain about. But you already know it, I can smell the wounds on your body. And every dragon that lives increases your power and strength. "
"Will you accompany us, Lord of the Dogs? The injuries to my dragons, which I also suffered as a result, make me vulnerable. If the last of the dragons dies, I am no longer either. I was able to find out that much after our last encounter. "
Thereupon he nodded, because what overtook the dragons would overtake his dogs, which he had sent out to watch the dragons. He didn't like the mistress, but still, it was predetermined for them to be able to win against the overpowering enemy only together. She felt that too, so it was clear that they would never fight against each other. She went over to the dog demon so that her companion did not notice. "I have one last question! Do you know the name of my companion?"
