Fanfic: Yuna´s Way

they thought.
It had recovered and was besetting the man who had helped us earlier.
It was time to return the favor. I raised my staff, but I didn't get far.Auron and Tidus rushed past me, guns raised, when they saw what I was up to. Instead of me they came to the aid of the Guadolord.

The opponent, a Sinspawn G'Nai, a huge, ugly cattle, which looked like the nightmarish mixture between a scorpion and a deformed scolopender, suddenly had to concentrate on three fighters. The man, whose sheer presence kept upsetting me, used this to conjure up a powerful spell. "Remiem!" we heard him call. I looked at Lulu, but this kind of magic seemed unfamiliar to her because she shook her head.

The spell was so strong it killed the Sinspawn almost on the spot. This maester's magical powers were really powerful. Tidus and Auron did the rest with a few well-aimed hits, and the Sinspawn dissolved into a shimmering light.
I was so relieved. Nothing had happened to any of the three ..

Seymour's breathing was barely noticeable when he turned to me.He still exuded the pure aura of great magical power, and I shuddered. Who was this man who paid so much attention to me, who seemed to care for my well-being. What did he mean by that?

Again my mind was distracted when two remaining AlBhed tried to break the SINS force field with a machina ray cannon. One last riot on the offensive, one last desperate attempt to turn the tide ...
But SIN was almost unimpressed. In a single flash of light, the energy beams were thrown back and the cannon exploded. The shock wave threw us to the ground.

I must have passed out for a moment because the next thing I can remember is Tidus running headless and running madly towards the cliff. He shouted incomprehensible sentences before throwing himself into the raging water to pursue SIN, Spira's scourge, who had completed their bloody work and were now heading for the open ocean.I was suddenly awake. I ran towards the cliff and saw Tidus struggle in the waves.
I called for him, but he didn't hear me.

No! Not Tidus. Not him. I didn't want to lose someone from my closest confidante as well. So much blood and pain and suffering and grief. Too much either way. I wouldn't lose him too. I called to him to hold out and raised my conjuring staff. I would save Tidus, I had to.

As I began to conjure up my Aeons, a voice suddenly penetrated my consciousness, telling me to end this madness immediately. Distraught, I turned around and looked into a pair of burning, violet eyes that looked down at me with concern and understanding, but also reproach. "Milady!" said the voice softly but firmly. "You're not strong enough to take on SIN. Not yet. You can't do anything!"

I stared at the guado, eyes wide with horror. Should I stand by and watch?I yelled at him that I had to do something, that I wouldn't let any of my friends out there die just like that. Then I turned back to the open sea and began to whisper the magical formulas. His voice interrupted me again, this time much more assertive and very loud. She broke the concentration required for the incantation. I looked over my shoulder at the man who was a mystery to me, who now looked down at me with worry and regret and gently shook his head. My mind raced, my world burst into pieces I couldn't protect my Guardian. Then my strength failed and I fell to the ground, crying and exhausted.

When I woke up, I was lying on the beach in the shadow of the cliffs. Except for Tidus, all the Guardians were with me, looking down at me with concern. Lulu brought me some water. I wanted to sit up and get up, looked around searchingly for the lovable, messy blond Zanarkandier, but Auron shook his head.Ichs shook my head, wanted to start screaming, but Auron held me back and pointed with his hand at someone who was lying in the sand a few meters away from me. TIDUS! He looked lifeless, but then I noticed the steady breaths. Relief, weakness and nausea came over me at the same time. He was alive. Thank you very much. Lulu explained to me that Auron and Wakka had pulled him out of the waves when he was knocked unconscious. He slept the deep sleep of exhaustion.

My head slowly cleared. Then Auron looked at me seriously. I knew what he meant. No further words were needed. I nodded, then got up. I knew my duties and I would get busy. I couldn't allow myself to be weak, not now, not here. Lulu handed me the staff. I stepped slowly out of the shadow of the cliff into the bright sunlight. Yes it had to be done. The spirits of the fallen had to be sent to the farplane to find their peace there. There were so many, so terribly many. I started dancing, blessing.
I danced hour after hour until early evening. I sent the spirits of the dead to the Farplane and I wished that they would find the peace there, which they longed for but did not get in their lifetime. Then it was done.
