Chapter: The encounter

It's a cool and sunny early autumn day. Tarina walks slowly and uncertainly through the forest. It is the first time that she is allowed into the forest alone. Over and over again she hears terrifying noises. Her hands slide along the trees and bushes as she floats toward a clearing. It's quiet in the clearing and the grass moves with the fine wind. Tarina lies down in the still slightly damp grass. The wind plays with the leaves of the only tree in the clearing.
Tarina sits there for a long time. Until she hears a low whisper. The whisper seems to be coming from the tree. She gets up and goes to the tree. She is slowly beginning to understand the whisper. "Help me, free me ..." the tree whispers these words over and over again. "Who should I help? And how?" Tarina is at a loss. How should she help a tree, let alone free it? "Come here at midnight today and take fairy dust with you. You're the only one who can help me ..." Tarina just nods. She'll be back home around noon. "And how was your first time alone in the forest?" As usual, her brother Veleronim is the first to ask. "Quite okay ..." that's all she has to say. In other words, she doesn't want to say more. Nobody should know that they met a tree spirit. "Did you at least bring hunger with you?" her mother, who likes to cook twice as much, always thinks about the healthy diet of her children. Tarina looks at her as if confused, “not really.” The mother looks disappointed. Without saying anything else, Tarina goes upstairs to her room. Eating something would not be right for her now.
In the evening she still doesn't eat anything. She lies down and waits for everyone to sleep. When she is quite sure, she carefully slides out of bed. She flits quietly out of the house with a bag of fairy dust. The forest is eerie and dark to her, yet she does not turn back. When she comes to the clearing, she is astonished at first. The tree lights up in blue light in the dark night. And again he whispers to Tarina, “Free me, please!” “Yes, but how? I have the fairy dust.” “Sprinkle some of the fairy dust on my bark.” She does as you know. She backs away as the tree is enveloped in a blazing blue light. A shape seems to be slipping out of the tree. When the light fades again, she sees a young elf in front of her. He comes up to her, kneels down in front of her and gives her a kiss on the hand. "Thanks to you, I was finally redeemed!", His voice is warm and soft. "But how ... what?" Tarina blushed from the kiss on the hand. "The forest witch banished me to the tree four years ago. She caught me stealing sugar flowers. But thanks to you, I'm free again! What's your name?" "I'm Tarina. And your name?" "My name is Naderin. And I would be honored if you, Tarina, would come to the water with me and live there with me. "This directness makes Tarina red like a strawberry, which Naderin, fortunately, does not see in the dark.“I'd love to.” And the two float through the night towards the water.
And they all lived happily everafter!

èja, I know, the whole thing is very kitschy and old-fashioned. But I always wanted to write something like that. I just think these stories are so beautiful! If it were just that easy in real life. * sigh * Whatever. Maybe I will process the story into a little manga. I'll still see it.

I hope for many clerks!
