Chapter: CHAPTER 2
Inuyasha woke up from his sleep panting. He was trembling all over and drenched in sweat. Completely confused, he looked around. His breathing was intermittent and irregular. His heart was pounding like crazy and he thought it was going to pop out of his chest at any moment.
When he realized he was in Kaede's hut, he calmed down a little. He looked around, saw Miroku, Sango, Kaede, Shippou and Kagome sleeping peacefully.
Briefly the images of his dream shot through his head and he thought for a brief moment that he could feel the pain in his chest, which had been caused by the arrow in his dream.
Only now did he notice that his right hand was aching. It hurt because he clenched her tightly into a fist. He opens his hand and saw ... the jewel. The jewel that had been snatched from him in his dream
He sighed and leaned his head against the wall of the house against which he was leaning. "Just one
Dream ... "he whispered almost fearfully. He was still battered. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Kagome, who lay curled up in her sleeping bag with Shippou and slept. He looked at her and thought of how she had looked in his dream. Her eyes that looked so cold and ruthless, like the freshly sharpened blade of a dagger. He thought of how she had stolen the jewel from him. He sighed again. In his dream, Kagome suddenly became Kikyou, who disappeared with the jewel and then shot the arrow at him.
His chest started aching again at the thought.
Kagome stirred. The hanyou was still looking at her.
The girl blinked and vaguely saw Inu-Yasha's face, which she was staring at in a strange way.
She yawned briefly and opened her eyes fully.
Inuyasha didn't avert his gaze. He searched in her eyes for the coldness that he had seen in her terrible illusion, but hoped fervently that it wasn't.And it was confirmed.
Kagome looked the same as always. A bit sleepy, but otherwise not unusual.
Relief crept into the boy.
"What are you Inu-Yasha?" She asked and yawned again. She straightened up so that she was sitting now.
He shook his head and turned away from her. "Nothing."
Kagome rolled his eyes. It was always the same with him. "Don't you want to let go of the jewel?" She asked, somewhat amused, when she noticed that Inu-Yasha was still holding it in his hand.
The remark made Inuyasha shudder and lose his mind.
He jumped up in a flash and now stood there taut like a spring.
Kagome raised his eyebrows and looked at him in amazement. "Tell me, did I say the wrong thing?"
Inuyasha clenched her fists. The look on his face was the one he always had when fighting a youkai for one or more Shikon shards. His fists began to tremble and he looked at Kagome with a look that ran down her spine as cold as ice.“You won't take it away from me!” His voice trembled with anger. "It belongs to me!"
Kagome got up, looked at him no longer surprised but worried. She took a step towards Inuyasha, who backed away.
"Inu-Yasha ... what should I take away from you?" She spoke in a calm voice and
hoped the hanyou would calm down again. She had never seen him so upset.
"Don't get too close to me!" He yelled and stormed out of the hut.
Kagome now stood there, completely perplexed. , she wondered and couldn't explain Inu-Yasha's behavior. She hadn't done him anything ... Why was he suddenly so angry with her?
"So what's going on?"
Kagome turned when she heard Miroku's sleepy voice. "And where is Inuyasha?"
She opened her mouth to answer him, but the words wouldn't get out. She took a deep breath, sat down on the sleeping bag next to the sleeping Shippou and tried to answer again."I ... I don't know ... he suddenly ... just stormed off ..." The girl stared at the floor. Inuyasha had actually scared her. She had the feeling that he was going to attack her any moment.
Miroku shook his head blankly. "Somebody should figure it out ..." He closed his eyes and fell asleep again.
Kagome, however, no longer thought about sleeping. There was chaos in her head. She was used to Inu-Yasha's brisk tone, but that was something completely different. The hanyou had felt threatened by her.
He had looked at her as if to tear her to pieces. As if he wanted to break it apart with his claws. He had looked at her ... like an enemy ...
This question circled in her head, did not let her calm down.
Hours later, she hadn't forgotten Inu-Yasha's expression. He was so present to her as if the hanyou were still standing in front of her.At first she had considered running after him, but immediately rejected this idea because she had heard clearly that he found her company to be a thorn in his side at the moment. After all, he had fled from her. Running after him wouldn't have helped.
Her eyes were slowly becoming heavy. The tiredness returned and reminded her how tired she actually was. "What about you ..." she mumbled and then surrendered to sleep.
A shadow raced through the forest. His shape was barely noticeable at this speed. The cold wind lashed his face as if to force him to stop.
It was dark in this forest. The darkness had swallowed the trees, bushes and other plants and would only clear them again at dawn.
He ran on, on and on, without any goal that he wanted to achieve. Just get away from this village, away from the hut ... away from YOU.
His lungs ached from the exertion and his legs became heavy. He had no idea how long he had been walking through this forest and where he was at all, but he didn't care anyway. The Shikon no Tama was with him and that was the most important thing at the moment.
Inuyasha had to brake sharply and came to a precipice. He almost fell down.
His feet burned like fire and his lungs screamed with every breath. He didn't even notice his pain and stared out into the darkness. On the horizon he could see a narrow, glowing red glow. It almost looked like someone had split the sky in two with his sword.
He sat down and felt the cold, wet earth beneath him. "It was just a
Dream, "he said, shaking his head as if to bring clarity to his thoughts, which were again dancing around wildly and confusedly in his head."I ... I ran away ..."
His mind gradually returned. Only now did he understand what had actually happened.
"I was afraid that she would take it away from me ..." Again he looked at the jewel that he was still holding securely in his hand.
He had actually fled from her. He was actually ... scared.
