2. Times change

After about 5 minutes she came to. "Mom what's going on?" She asked confused when she recognized her mother. But then she remembered the letter and the price and she almost flipped over again. "Maya! You don't have to do that but I thought you were happy!", Her mother apologized and bowed her head. "Mom, of course, made me happy, but you know it's 2 years that I'll be gone! Wouldn't you miss me?", She asked and looked questioningly into her eyes. "Sure! But you could fulfill the dream of your life! You get an apprenticeship and you can still finish school! That's great and even if it is at the end of the world we will send you a letter every day! Do you want it she asked. "Of course I want that! This is the chance for me! And in the letter it said that you document the whole thing then I'll send you the videos!", She said and smiled again."You don't need that child!" Said her mother and stroked her hair. "Why not?" She asked curiously back. "Well, because the whole thing is shown on TV!", She said and smiled. "WHAT ????", horrified it escaped from her and all the classmates. "And what is actually being talked about here all the time?" Asked Maya's best friend Anna. Now the director interfered again and stood in front. "Now listen to me everybody!", He said a bit loudly because a loud whisper had triggered in the whole class. All students turned around now. "Thank you! Since you haven't noticed yet, I'll explain it to you now! Your classmate Maya got quite a surprise from her mother! And Maya will be leaving us for 2 years from next year and going to Japan!" Man. Now the students looked even more shocked. "What? But why? And why Japan?" They all asked confusedly. "Quiet!"shouted the director and suddenly everything was quiet." So and now on! Maya won a drawing competition and the prize is an apprenticeship as a comic book artist in Japan! And as you have already heard, the whole thing should be shown on TV! So we can always see what she's doing! Was that really Maya now? "he asked." Well, except for the comic artist! That's called Mangaka! ", she said meekly. Everyone turned around to look at her and now they confronted their friends." So you're into that sort of thing! And I thought you were grown up to some extent! "Said Mona disappointed. She was the one of her friends who was particularly keen to be seen as adults." Hey, that's not fair Mona! Mona stood there with a bright red head. She was afraid of her reputation again because she had acted like a bitch in front of the whole class. While she still had a crush on Ben, she now thought that she had finally lost all chances with him. She bowed her head and looked at the floor in shame. "Maya, I'm sorry! I should have shown more understanding for your interests! Sorry!", She apologized. Maya smiled. Mona was a bit bitchy at times, but she always saw her mistakes. "It's already forgotten!", She said happily and gave her a warm hug. "So! Since you won this competition, we all want to see something of your skills!", her art teacher relented. Everyone agreed and waited eagerly to see what would come of it." Uh, do you really mean that this is necessary? "she asked shyly." Of course! Now come! I'm sure you didn't just win this competition! Breathing heavily, she leaned against the door that was just closed and took a deep breath. In her mind she scanned the day. A lot had happened in one day.Not only that one of her wishes was finally fulfilled, no she also got a 2 year stay in Japan. She let herself slide down the door of her room. "You really can't believe how my life could change so quickly! And I wouldn't have thought that everyone would stand by it like that!", She said as she thought about it. She sat up again and started her music. She could always relax best and always draw well. With the headphones on, she sat down at her desk and began to paint. Today she really wanted to do it and it went really well. She was already looking forward to her stay in Japan. But she was also curious about all the people who should stand by her side. What she did not notice, however, was that her older brother stepped into her room and watched her. It was pretty funny for him as she sang along with some parts of the song. But he was in her room for a reason, so he tapped her on the shoulder.Maya immediately jumped up like a startled chicken. "Man Micha! Do you always have to do that?" She asked angrily. "Oh, cool off! I just wanted to congratulate you on your triumph!" He said and held out his hand to her. With suspicious looks she accepted her. But he pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly. "Man, I'll miss you a lot! I don't have a sister to annoy anymore!", He said while he was still hugging her. "Oh well, don't turn it into such a drama! I'm not out of the world and besides, you still have Emily!", She said. "Oh, she's only 3 years old!" He said like a little boy. Maya just smiled. Even if she and her brother often quarreled, one noticed that both of them cannot do without each other.

Many months later ……………
Maya became quite well known at her school in the period after that. Everyone knew about it, but amazingly no one had anything wrong with it.Almost everyone at the school knew her. She didn't like it that much, but what the heck, she always thought to herself. That week was the meeting with the team and Maya was very excited. After all, she would spend 2 years of her life with these people and it would not be great if people were there .....
