Chapter: Beginning of the game: Round one

Today was a special day because today was almost sacred for many students. It was the last day of school before the summer vacation. And when it finally rang for the last time for a long time, the students of the Domino University immediately left the school grounds so as not to lose a second of their precious vacation time. However, there were also a few students who were in no hurry to leave school. One of them was Bakura, who was just leaving the college building with his friend Ryou. As always with an evil look, but this time with a slight smile, Bakura Ryou listened as he told him something beaming with joy. However, Bakura paid less attention to Ryou than to the other students who kept staring at Ryou and him. Among them was Yugi and his friends who still couldn't believe that he and Ryou were so good friends. Especially since he and Ryou were actually like night and day.At some point, however, Bakura went against the grain of this stare, damn it the others didn't have to stare at him. As if from a reflection, Bakura`s throat gave a dangerous growl.

Ryou looked at his friend Bakura in amazement and wondered why he growled so suddenly. Had he said or done something wrong again? When Bakura didn't react to his gaze, however, Ryou sighed briefly before nudging the man of the same age in the side with a smile on his lips to get his attention back. "Hey Bakura is something?"
Bakura, however, did not react at all and seemed completely absent. Even more astonished, Ryou nudged him again in the side, but this time more forcefully so that Bakura also heard his following question: "Are you even listening to me?"

Bakura winced immediately, he hadn't listened to what Ryou had said. Slowly he looked down at Ryou and tried to give him an apologetic look."Gomen ... what did you just say?"
Bakura could see exactly into Ryou`s eyes, but they slowly closed. Finally Ryou averted his eyes completely and Bakura could hear a loud sigh from the smaller one.

A little sad, but still happy that he got Bakura`s attention, Ryou said: "Not bad ...", before he put on a smile and told his friend the good news again: "Well: My father takes this Week's time for me, tomorrow his plane will arrive and then it's just him and me. No excavations ... No research ... Nothing. I'll have him all to myself. Then we can go to the movies or go fishing or what I know. The main thing is that I have my father all to myself. "Ryou briefly looked at Bakura with a hurt and sad look when he said:" Hopefully something won't come up again. "But shortly afterwards Ryou shook his head and beamed at his friend again as always. For a while Bakura just looked at his smaller friend, thinking that he wanted to say something else. But when nothing of the kind could be heard, Bakura walked towards the large school gate with the words: "Oh well, have fun". However, he made sure that his smaller likeness also followed him. Bakura was sure that he wanted to say something to Ryou, but he didn't care. It was on the tip of his tongue but he couldn't think of it. >> I wanted to tell him something else, but what was that ... << he asked himself, but didn't notice Ryou's short, sad look or the questioning look that followed.

Ryou had only been a little sad when Bakura had left this, for him fantastic, news so cold. Shortly afterwards, however, Ryou had noticed that Bakura's thoughts were elsewhere. Still with a questioning look, Ryou stroked Bakura`s arm when he finally asked: "What do you have, Bakura?" He tried to ignore the disgusted looks of some of his classmates which he more or less succeeded.>> What is so bad if I stroke Bakura on the arm ... << he asked himself before he sighed again and received a questioning look from Bakura.

Bakura looked at the smaller one for a long time, he suspected what Ryou had back but did not dare to ask. Ryou looked at him questioningly again and didn't seem to know why his larger likeness was staring at him. After a few minutes of eye contact, Bakura closed his eyes and took a deep breath in and out before opening his eyes again. However, Ryou still had the same look in his eyes as before. Bakura immediately tried to smile a little when he said goodbye: "Well, I wish you a lot of fun with your father, I have to go home, see you sometime." Only then did Bakura walk out of the school gate, but looked up all the time Ryou. Before he finally disappeared behind a corner of the wall, he waved to his smaller counterpart again and then disappeared from his field of vision.Ryou looked a little puzzled after his friend Bakura and wondered whether he had imagined Bakura`s short sad look or not. When Bakura disappeared from his field of vision, however, he shook his head briefly before he thought slightly sadly: >> No .. Bakura is more happy that he's got rid of me and I can't get on his nerves. <<
With a final sigh, Ryou made his way home.

When Ryou finally got home he put his school supplies on his desk and sighed loudly before shouting into the room: "Finally free". But in his mind Ryou was still with Bakura. His funny look just wouldn't let go of him. >> It looked like he wanted to tell me something or ... Oh, I don't know, either << thought Ryou and tried to concentrate on something else first. Just in time for this, Ryou's cell phone rang. This startled immediately and immediately rummaged out said item. When he finally got it, he answered the call with a smile: "Hello here, Ryou.""Hello Ryou, it's me," said a friendly male voice which Ryou immediately assigned to his father. “I really wanted to tell you something.” With the last sentence Ryou clearly heard a sad undertone from his father. In addition, Ryou's father spoke quickly and looked extremely impatient. Immediately Ryou's heart contracted, he felt that something was wrong even if he didn't know where from. Already suspecting bad things, Ryou asked: "What is it ... has something happened?"

Ryou swallowed quietly and tried to ignore this strange feeling in his stomach, but Ryou's fears became true. "Yes ... we have a few problems with some excavations. And now I have to ... well ..." From then on, Ryou`s father stopped speaking and was silent. Ryou already suspected what his father wanted to say but he wanted to hear it from his mouth: "What? Please say it."

But his father remained silent, from now on Ryou knew that his father would put him back.He would cancel the meeting again and would have to take care of his work. Injured Ryou clenched his free hand into a fist and tried desperately to hold back his tears, which he succeeded more badly than right: "I ... You have to go back to work, right? ... The joint meeting won't work, will you?" Ryou asked and finally his father continued, but what he said didn't cheer Ryou up: "Yes, unfortunately ... Gomen Ryou ... I didn't want to, but if I leave now it will throw us back months." In the background Ryou even heard his father's work colleagues complaining about the conversation. If they knew that they were hurting Ryou even more, he didn't know he was just sad. But before he could answer his father continued: "Ryou, I have to break up. Gomen nasai my son. Ciao."

And already his father hung up, without waiting for Ryou's answer, without thinking that he was making his son even more sad. Ryou only heard the steady humming of his cell phone and couldn't hold back his tears.Still crying, Ryou mumbled, "It doesn't matter ... I understand ..." as he pushed the call away and finally slumped down and began to sob loudly.

>> Why ... why always me? Why can't I spend a week with my father? That's so unfair << Ryou thought as he hugged the cell phone tightly. He just couldn't hold back and just cried to himself. However, after a few minutes his tears dried up and turned into mere sobs and after a while turned into sniffing. Ryou didn't know what to do now. He had been looking forward to this week so much that he now had no idea what to do.

With a deeply sad look Ryou looked at himself in the mirror. >> Oh my god, I look like I'm going to cry right again << was his first thought when he looked into his completely weeping face.

Bakura had just remembered what else he wanted to say to Ryou.He still had Ryou's homework that had been given up for today. Since Bakura hadn't done it, however, he had copied from Ryou and forgot to give Ryou the copy. It didn't really matter, but before Bakura forgets to give Ryou the copy again, he decided to call Ryou to let him know that he'll come back and bring his notebook back to him. He quickly grabbed the phone, dialed the number of his smaller counterpart and waited for him to answer the phone.

Ryou jumped immediately when the cell phone rang again. At first he didn't want to answer it, with his luck there was still "good" news like that from his father. But what if it mattered? With a last sniff, Ryou took the call and answered with a sad voice: "Hello ...?"

"Hey Ryou, it's Bakura. What's wrong, why do you sound so sad?" Bakura answered immediately. The whole thing seemed totally strange to me. Not long ago Ryou had shone with the sun and now Ryou sounded like someone had died.Bakura waited in vain for an answer because Ryou said nothing more. So slightly worried, he chopped on: "Ryou, tell me what's going on?" Bakura hoped that he would get an answer this time.

Ryou was very surprised that Bakura called him, but was also a little relieved. To prevent his friend from worrying unnecessarily, he mumbled an indistinct "Everything is okay, it's nothing" into the receiver. However, regretted this as soon as he said it: >> Why should I lie to him? I don't want him to be mad at me ... He'll notice if I lie to him anyway. << So he quickly reported to himself: "Well ... my father has ... he moved me again." However, this fact made Ryou cry again, and he sobbed softly into the phone after he had finished talking.

"Oh.", Was Bakura's only answer that occurred to him.
