Fanfic: Coming Alive

Chapter: A dream becomes true

Coming Alive

A few words to start with. I started writing this FanFic no less than 2 years ago. Unfortunately, the time in which I wanted to complete this work was broken for a very long time by a phase in which I simply couldn't get around to writing on.
A very long phase. But now I find the peace again to continue working and to fulfill a little dream.
I don't want to say this fanfic gets any better than others, but I have hope that maybe some people will call it unique once the last point is made. I don't want to write a simple story. I want to give the people out there, lonely people, melancholy people, funny and sad people, the opportunity to immerse themselves in a world that will make them forget everyday life.
A world, be it fictional, gives people the chance to live a dream that they have only dreamed so far. We all have dreams. Some can be fulfilled, some not. Some people may still dream of living with the DBZ characters. This story is directed primarily to these people.
I want to take advantage of the boundlessness of the imagination to bring people closer to a world that they may never discover.
So I would like to ask you: if you read this story, enjoy it. Immerse yourself in it as if it were your own life. Let yourself fall into your dreams and let the power of the imagination seize your heart.

A dream comes true

It was a clear winter night. As so often, I sat on the balcony with my laptop and was reading some new fan fics. It was getting pretty cold, after all, it was already 2:00 in the morning. I decided to have one last cigarette and then go to bed. As I sat there and looked at the clear, starry sky (the stars shone unusually bright that night), it occurred to me how great it would be if the DragonballZ characters really existed. How great it would be to be friends with them, fight with them ... to be one of them.
Suddenly a flash of light in the sky tore me from my dreams. A shooting star. `Well, what do I have to lose ?! `, I thought, closed my eyes and wished for exactly this vision.
I opened my eyes and saw the unusually bright twinkling stars again. I finished smoking my cigarette and was about to close my laptop when I saw a message on the screen.
“Do you believe in miracles ?!” It said. A dragon ball was shown underneath. It was a link.
'No, it can't be. I breathed. I had read a lot of fan fics like this, where people were transported into another dimension by their computer. But no, that couldn't be possible ... or could it ?!
I moved the mouse over the Dragon Ball, thought for a moment and clicked the link.
This was followed by a blazing light into which I seemed to sink completely.A violent jolt of my body was the last I could remember about that night.

To be continued ...

A little afterword. As I said, I started this story 2 years ago.
During this time my writing style has changed a lot and I hope for the better.
I have already published the opening part, but I am rewriting it so that the flow of reading is not affected.
The beginning may therefore sound familiar to some.
