The little ladybug

Ante Scriptum (AS): I apologize for the line skips that make the whole thing a bit illegible, but I can't help it or not. I want to give you a simple tip here. With the lyrics everything is okay and with the poems, four lines each make up a stanza. In the event of deviations, a note is given beforehand.

I wrote the following story out of boredom and under the influence of Tine. I hope you enjoy it as much as you do. I present with the kind support of Tine:

The little ladybug

Once upon a time there was a tiny, very tiny ladybug.

He was so small that even the ladybird children laughed at him for being taller, but he was much older and more experienced. But the little beetles made fun of him every day and so one day he decided to move out and show what he really could do.

He crawled and crawled until he had left his meadow, only then did he swing himself up into the air because he didn't want anyone to notice how he was walking.Because he wanted to surprise everyone and nobody missed him.

After many days he finally reached the forest, where he was looking for adventures that he could endure, to show his courage and to prove that strength and size are not everything.

First he asked the crickets and cicadas if they knew anything he could do. They said their wings were itchy and that it would be a great deed to help them. And so the little ladybird scratched behind its wings with all its might until it fell, exhausted, from the last cricket - or was it a cicada? - and stayed on the floor. Then the big insects flew away and laughed at him and his good faith. And the little bug was very sad.

Then a very small dragonfly flew by, crying, which, although it was tiny for dragonflies, looked to the beetle like a big airplane for you, my little one, and the beetle flew after her as fast as it could and caught up with her when she did rested on a branch. And he asked them, too, if there was anything good he could do, because the beetle firmly believed that not everyone had to be like the evil crickets and cicadas.

And then the dragonfly said, shedding tear after tear, that her little dragonfly man was hanging in a spider web. Fortunately, the spider was out, but it could only be a few moments before it came back. The beetle said, helpful as a little ladybug can be, he would do everything in his power to free the dragonfly man and he asked where the dragonfly was coming from. But the dragonfly didn't seem to be listening to him anymore, because it was already flying on again, looking for help that was bigger and stronger.

The beetle became even sadder, but then he said to himself: "If she doesn't want my help either, I'll help anyway. Why should I let her down?" and so he flew in the dragonfly's trail to find the man, and really, after a short while he saw something in the distance between the trees flashing in the sunlight."The net," he called and flew even faster, hoping that the dragonfly man was still there. And indeed, when he reached the net, he saw the dragonfly man hanging in the net and the dragonfly hovering next to him. And then he recognized a large rhinoceros beetle that was about to cut the net, but unfortunately it was already stuck in it. Without hesitation, the beetle flew to the forest floor, toward a group of ferns. There he found what he was looking for: aphids!

He knew how sticky the juice the ants milk from them was, but he also knew how delicious they tasted, but now he wanted something completely different. He landed briefly and lifted one or two of them into the air. Before they knew it, they were already hanging in the net and rowing and wobbling and screaming and falling off. Its juice had made the spider's web completely smooth and soft and no longer sticky and stringy. The dragonflies and the beetle saw that too, and the dragonfly woman eagerly helped to fly up aphids and carry them into the web, because the spider was already approaching.Only a few more meters, then she would have reached the net. She was nearsighted, but she could feel every movement of the threads. Just a few more inches. The spider was in the web and now it noticed the uninvited visitor and immediately understood what was going on. As fast as she could and the smooth threads allowed, she crawled with her 8 skinny, black legs under the thick, fat, disgusting body to the middle of the net. She would soon have our little ladybug within reach of her claws.

A few more steps. Grab it !!! ... the spider had the remains of its web in its claws ... our friend escaped in time and fled together with the two dragonflies ... the beetle crawled quickly back into its cave and was ashamed that he literally fell for the spider.

After an eternity of flight, the three sat down on a branch to take a breather and only now did the two dragonflies notice the ladybug again. They looked at him in amazement, he smiled back satisfied.

Then the two flew away without saying a word and the beetle was once again sitting there alone. Now he started to cry and he must have cried for an eternity and would have cried a second eternity if he hadn't heard a loud noise.

Under its branch lay a small bird, a titmouse, writhing in pain. Our little friend flew down to her, convinced that the insects would not appreciate his help, but the big ones, who otherwise never cared much for the little ones, and he sat on the tit's beak, brave as he was, and asked her what she had.

She replied that she had a terrible itch and that she could no longer fly. He quickly found out that the tit had small fleas and just as quickly he had the saving idea: an anthill. The ants would spray the titmouse with their acid and the fleas would leap away, coughing and panting. He suggested it to the tit, and since she had no other advice, she agreed and dragged herself with difficulty to the nearest anthill. The beetle, always flying next to her, asked the ants to help him and promised to tell them where the aphids were. They quickly agreed and sprayed their acid on the bird, which despite the warning from the beetle had not closed its eyes and flew away with watering eyes and coughing and panting, cursing the ladybug. But the fleas also hopped away and soon found a new animal. But our beetle, sad that no one valued him and no one expressed his gratitude, flew away after telling the ants the place and sat on a tree and slept ... and slept ... and slept for a long, long time.

When he woke up, awakened by a tremendous noise, it seemed to him that he had slept for thousands and thousands of years. All around him there was great turmoil and chaos.Dragonflies, beetles, cicadas, crickets, birds, foxes, deer, roe deer, hares, all of them flew, crawled, ran in one direction as if they wanted to flee from something. Now our friend also saw what from: a large wall of fire could be seen through the gap between the trees, the forest was burning, and all life was trying to save itself.

Suddenly, as if commanded by an invisible voice, the column stopped. The beetle turned around and saw this reason too. Another wall of fire came from the other end of the forest. The animals quickly realized that they were trapped. The beetle, however, knew the way out and took off without paying any attention to anyone. He made up his mind not to help anyone unasked and flew, meter by meter. Suddenly the dragonfly recognized him and flew after him at top speed. She shouted "Hey, you little ladybug, wait! Do you know where there is a way out? Please, help us, we'll do everything for you." Inside a lovely ladybug and he called out: "Tell all your friends that they should follow you and also tell them to say this to all their other friends and now follow me!"And without waiting any further, he took off, knowing that there was little time left. Behind him a long line of different animals moved in one direction, no one knew where, who they were following or why. Only the dragonfly knew it.

After a while they finally came across the large meadow over which a broad stream ran. The beetles and non-swimmers and fliers clung to the fur of the large ones and each animal reached the other bank unscathed, where everyone, happy about the rescue, rested and asked each other who had saved them. The deer asked the hare, the hare the tit, the tit the spider and these in turn the beetle, everyone asked everyone, and in the end the answer was: it was the dragonfly. And already she wanted to bask in fame when she saw in the distance how a small red-black point with hanging legs and antennae flew away and she called: "No, wait, it wasn't me, it was the little ladybug, just look , there he flies. He saved my husband too! “And behind her it rang,“ And he cleaned our wings, we could finally fly again! ”And a chirping voice next to the dragonfly said:“ And he freed me from the flea plague! ”Growled the angry wolf:“ And she incited me! "and everyone laughed at the bad wolf. The ladybug had disappeared, but with its head up and wings bursting with strength, because it had heard very well what the others said, how they praised it and at home it didn't tell anyone anything . Because nobody would have believed him. He wanted to keep the beautiful thought in his memory forever. Today the little ladybugs still laugh at our tiny friend and he smiles good-naturedly and thinks: "You will never accomplish such great deeds as the one about him you laugh. Because you have no reason to. But I do! "
