Escape from the cave

The people talked. Their voices came from all directions. Was there a way out?
Suddenly it heard steps behind it-
of people.
Now the unicorn had no choice, it had to storm out of the cave.
Lyra reared and dashed out of the cave at full speed, just behind a thin tree.
People didn't seem to notice. They gossiped and did what they did before.
Lyra decided to look around this unfamiliar area, because sooner or later she would be discovered behind the thin tree anyway. She walked past what she thought was a white deer. That was fine with the unicorn. So it could be observed but calmly go its way.
After walking for a while, it could see houses that were an unusual shape.They had been built in a different style than Lyra knew about them. That made the unicorn curious. It went near the gigantic house and had to realize that there were only more people. But they were very interested in the unicorn because they did not look at it as curiously or indifferently as the other people.
Rather, they saw it as a hunter saw its prey. They were also dressed in grass green and carried rifles. Did they want the unicorn's fur? Were they really hunters or were they cowboys? Or were they even a mixture of the two? The unicorn couldn't answer this question. Then to make matters worse, people had such sharp looks.
"As if looks could kill," thought Lyra, looked at the other people for a moment and then wanted to look at the hunters again, who had suddenly disappeared all of a sudden.
Did these people mean something bad to her?
