Chapter: Lord of the forest
The warm wind blows gently
Caressing my crown
Bending fragile necks
Of the tender little plants,
who found shelter at my feet,
and many a sheet
he takes with him on his long journey.
There he comes from
the king of the forest
a silver crown rests in his hair
shimmering and sparkling
like a thousand diamonds
his eyes too,
who look at me plaintively.
He lives here forever
his silver hooves don't even touch the grass,
on which he walks.
No stalk is bent
no animal injured
when he is like a shimmering dream
gallops through the woods.
No one has ever seen him
he is hiding
in front of man's eyes
and only many an elf
was allowed to touch his white neck once
and feel his gentle closeness
to look deep into the soul.
It's been a long time
since he stood there in front of me
his horn shimmered like silver in the night,
a note that led those who had gone astray back home,
he was the only one who spoke to meunderstood my whisper
but he is no longer.
Much has changed
And even the old man of the forest had to eventually
Bowing one's head to the inexorable wheels of time.
It's got lonely and quiet
the elves have gone
to where they could still live unnoticed,
even the little fairies died and left me.
I couldn't leave
my leaves still rustle softly in the wind,
as they once did
a long long time ago,
and i'm the only one
who is left and remembers
to the old days when mankind left us in peace.
Our time is over now
they all left
and i will fall soon too.
Maybe then I'll see him again
the past, the extinguished
the protector of the forest - for all eternity.
