Chapter 4 - Toki

It was a little cat that looked almost like Kiara. Only that she wasn't light orange like Kiara but a blue-gray tone with blue eyes. It too had a mark on its forehead, but hers looked more like a shell. I saw it was wounded and wanted to pick it up. But it hissed at me. "Shut up, I just want to help you. Let me see your wounds so I can take care of them. Trust me," I spoke to her. Inuyasha had come up behind me by now.
"She's a demon cat, like Kiara," he told me. "If it is right, it looks similar to you, only it has different colors," I added. She also seemed to trust me a little now, or she was just too exhausted, because she stopped her growling and let me poke her.
When I touched her fur, suddenly many pictures flashed through my head, they almost seemed like memories, but I couldn't remember them.
I saw a little girl with blue hair and blue eyes sitting in a meadow playing with this demon cat.The girl should not be older than 2 years. Suddenly a little boy with silver hair and red eyes came out of one of the bushes and laughed at them both. The girl smiled back.
Suddenly the situation changed. The girl was standing in front of a cradle and in it was a little baby. She had some silver curls and just as bright blue eyes as the girl herself and two dark blue stripes on each cheek.
Then the pictures faded again and I was startled. I had already taken the cat in my arms and now it snuggled up against me and purred.
Inuyasha had noticed my brief startle and spoke to me about it.
"Hey what's the matter? What about that cat?" He asked me.
I looked at him and could hardly believe what I had just seen. Then a thought occurred to me.
"Inuyasha? You said I smelled weird, so not like a person. What exactly do I smell like?"I wanted to know from him.
He looked at me a little puzzled but sniffed me again exactly.
"I can't say for sure. You don't smell like a person or a person, but you are not a half-demon either. But I can tell you that I definitely smell water on you, not like when you wash, but it's in you inside. Why do you ask, "he said to me. "Thanks, no, I just wanted to know," I said and sat down with the demon cat by the still small fire.
'So water is my element, I should have guessed that too, I've always been a real water rat, and that certainly has something to do with it. But what were those pictures, or rather memories, that I saw when I touched this cat? 'I wondered in my mind. But since I was still pretty tired, I fell asleep in my mind.

The next morning I would be woken up by something damp that kept touching my cheek."Leave mom, put the washcloth away, I'm already awake," I grumbled and opened my eyes, slightly sleepy. I look into big blue eyes that look at me curiously.
Startled, I sit up. But I fasted again and now nudged her again amicably on the nose, whereupon she jumped right away.
"Hey, not so stormy," I managed between two fits of laughter. The little cat was nimble and nudged me with her little nose again and again somewhere, unfortunately it always hit the places where I am a little more sensitive and so I had to laugh again and again.
Because of my laughter, the others slowly woke up too, if they were not yet, like Inuyasha, awake.
"Tell me what's going on that you can't stop laughing?" Shippo asked me sleepily. At that moment the little cat jumped on my head.
"Hey Toki, I've already told you a hundred times that you shouldn't jump on my head!" I said to her, playfully angry, and then I jumped off my head again. Now nobody said anything anymore, since everyone was either looking at Toki or at me.
"Where does the demon cat come from and how do you know its name?", Sango asked me in astonishment.
"I can easily answer where she comes from, I found her injured in the bushes and looked after her during the night and the name only just came to my mind," I explained to the others. I was surprised too, not only that I had come up with a name for her and that she also seemed to listen to me.
"So she's cute!", Said Kagome after a while. But Toki was not so trusting and moved behind me and now peeked out a little shyly. "Oh, I should have told you that she is still a bit shy and doesn't trust everyone," I said about her behavior.
As if in confirmation, she perked up and it almost sounded like the waves of a wide ocean. I closed my eyes and with the help of her meow I could imagine the vast ocean with its hidden treasures, dangers and joys. But I didn't have much time to indulge in thought, as the others were now having a lively conversation. Now Toki snuggled back into my lap.
Somehow she seemed so familiar to me and I automatically cuddled her neck at a certain point and she began to purr loudly.
In the middle of my movement I stopped again because I saw images before my eyes again.
This time I was sitting in a meadow with the boy, but there was another girl with me. She had her long, curly brown hair tied in a braid and her ears, which were just as brown, peeked out and the grass wiggled near her, on closer inspection you could see that it was her tail that moved through the grass and chased the Toki . We all laughed a lot and I could really feel the joy.
Dan changed the place again and this time we were in a cave and from a feeling I knew that it was night.A girl with short white hair and deep gray eyes that shone with the cold and turned this boy with the silver hair and red eyes on me. The girl with the blue hair and eyes, whom I suspected when I was younger, shouted something to him, but he didn't listen to her and kept coming up to her. The white-haired girl just laughed and her eyes got a slight red tinge. Just as he reached me I was shaken awake and opened my eyes in shock.
Kagome and Sango shook me slightly and I woke up again. This time I must have passed out and the others noticed. "Raiko, what's that? Say something!", Kagome kept saying to me. I looked at her in amazement and smiled weakly. "What should they be with me? I just got a little dizzy, that's all. That happens to me sometimes, it's nothing bad, honestly. I'm fine again," I tried to calm her down and got up again.I could see in their faces that they didn't quite believe me, but since I turned away and didn't allow any further questions, they had to believe me for better or for worse.
With sure steps I went to a nearby bush and lured Toki out again, I didn't know how I knew where she was or why I brought her back to me at all, I just knew that something connected me to her. But I just didn't know what.
