Fight with a dragon
Fight with a dragon
The sun was high in the sky, but still the great forest that lay next to the Dragon Valley was pitch black. It was rumored that this forest was cursed and would never let rays of the midday sun through again. At the edge of this forest, in front of a large clearing, was a huge cave. She was also in the dark and from her came roaring noises from time to time, as if a giant monster lived in her. The cave was pitch black, but despite this darkness, there was a young woman in it. She stood there and looked around. Her long purple hair fell elegantly over her shoulder and although she had tied it in a braid, it came down almost to her knees. Her violet eyes were narrowed to slits, thanks to them she could see in absolute darkness as well as in broad daylight. Under her right eye, she had a long, thin, black stripe that ran down her entire cheek. As you could easily see, she was a demon, or rather a dragon-demon, her name was Maru. She wasn't here for nothing, she was chasing something, but now she was trapped, her heart was beating like mad and she could have sworn that the beating of her heart could be heard in the whole cave. The cave was so huge that he could be lurking for it anywhere. She heard a noise very close by and turned around. Slowly she let her gaze wander, but couldn't see anything. Maru had followed the corridor to the end and was now standing in front of a rock wall, she had come to a dead end. She had no choice but to face him and fight, but she hated the fight so much. She turned and stared in the direction she had just come from. The demon narrowed her eyes and waited. Her ears searched for every sound, no matter how small. But nothing moved, she could only hear the dripping of water that dripped from the wet ceiling at regular intervals.
Maru had hoped he had finally given up, but suddenly something bright came flying towards her.Maru dodged the large fireball with ease and got ready for battle. She drew her sword, Raikiji, from its scabbard and held it protectively in front of her, taking a few steps forward. Her eyes fixed on the dark tunnel entrance. Now she could hear footsteps, loud, thunderous footsteps that grew louder and louder. A huge black dragon emerged from the shadows that barely fit through the tunnel. The long, bat-like black wings were drawn close to the body. His fiery red eyes were fixed on the young demoness who looked like a dwarf next to him. He walked slowly towards her with bared teeth, his long blue tongue hung greedily out of his mouth, with threads of saliva flowing from his left teeth. The gigantic dragon took another step towards her, its long, curved black claws digging lightly into the rocky ground.
The dragon opened its mouth wide and spewed another ball of fire in their direction. But Maru was also able to avoid this with another jump and immediately went over to the counterattack.
With her sword raised she ran up to him and struck him, the sharp blade right between the eyes. But the dragon had such a thick and flaky skin that the sword simply ricocheted off her. Maru was now hanging in the air in front of him, which caused him to snap at her. But she didn't want to end up as a dragon snack and stuck the point of her sword into his throat. He roared in pain and closed his huge mouth. In order not to get between his long yellow teeth, she had to let go of the sword that was still stuck in his throat.
Maru fell to the ground and landed safely on her hind legs and immediately had to dodge again, because at that very moment he reached out for her with his long, spiked tail and only narrowly missed her. It hit the wall behind her and knocked thick boulders out of her, which crashed to the ground. Some fragments of rock caught Maru and stretched her to the ground. Since she no longer had a weapon, she had to defend herself with her claws. She made a high leap in the air, cracking her fingers as she did so, drew back once and let her claws slide down on him. Maru caught him on the shoulder, where she had hit him, four long deep welts formed from which ruby red blood oozed. The dragon screamed and, blind with anger, began to thrash about. He tore down the rock walls and set everything on fire with his hot fiery breath. Huge boulders fell from the ceiling and crashed to the ground with a rumble of thunder. Maru dodged them and tried to sneak past the raging dragon unnoticed, but he still blocked the tunnel entrance. She had to lure him away from the hole in order to get out of the cul-de-sac, because gradually the smoke robbed her of her sight and made her breathe difficult. Just didn't know how to do it.She looked around for help. Then her gaze fell on some stones lying around that had fallen a few seconds ago. She crept over to them, picked up some of them, and threw them at him, one at a time. The dragon, now completely forgotten about her, turned its large, scaly head to face her and bared its huge yellow teeth. She threw a large stone on his head, whereupon he turned completely to her and brushed the rock face next to him with his wings. Now the opening was exposed and she moved carefully towards it. But through this action, she had attracted the kite's attention again. Now she had to think of something how to get past him. She looked around and saw behind him a rickety stone pillar that was about to collapse. She bent down to grab a stone near her, but never let the kite out of her sight. The dragon began to growl as he watched her pick up a stone and swung his paw out once.Maru had evaded quickly enough, but he still brushed her cheek.
Almost at the same moment, she had thrown the stone in the direction of the column and hit it exactly in the middle. The column collapsed with a deafening crack and buried the unsuspecting dragon under itself. He gave a loud, high-pitched screech and then fell silent. Maru watched as his fiery red eyes slowly closed and his head fell gently to one side. She looked at him pityingly because although he was her opponent, she had felt sorry for him. That's why she hated fighting, but he hadn't given her any choice.
She took a few steps towards him and made sure that he was really dead. When she was sure, she opened his mouth and tried to pull her sword out of his throat. She grabbed it by the handle and pulled it out with a strong jerk. She wrinkled her nose when she saw all the drool dripping from the blade, and it had a murderous bad breath. The mouth shut again when she let go of her upper jaw and the snap echoed throughout the cave, but was then drowned out by loud thunder. Now the rest of the cave began to make itself independent and huge boulders fell to the ground everywhere, which in turn tore down the side walls. The smoke that had formed from the fire spread throughout the cave, so that she could hardly see anything and made her cough. She had to hurry so as not to suffer the same fate as the dragon. She zigzagged through the cave and looked for the exit. She ran all the way back and had to remind herself where the exit had actually been, since the dragon had driven her further and further into it. She tried to find her way out based on a smell. She concentrated, but couldn't see anything but smoke. She gave up and just relied on her gut feeling and kept walking. After a few minutes she could feel a draft that got stronger and stronger and it wasn't long before she saw bright light in front of her. She had made it, but it shouldn't be that easy, stones fell towards her and threatened to block the entrance. She jumped through a thin crack and landed a short time later on the hard forest floor.
Panting, she rose and swayed to her feet. She took a deep breath and then, exhausted from the fight, sat down in the shade of a large tree. When she turned back to the cave, she could still see how the cave collapsed completely. She was really lucky, if she had been in it even a few minutes longer, it would now be flatter than a pancake.
She felt something liquid dripping down her cheek. She wiped the blood away and sighed. The wound wasn't bleeding too much, but it stung and hurt as hell.
After a short rest, Maru got up and crossed the clearing until she finally disappeared into the nearby forest, between the bushes.------------------------------------
So much for the first chapter. I deleted the entire fanfic in order to revise it again, to upload it. Chapter 7 will follow soon, but that could take a while ...
