Leben ist schon schwer genug
Decisions that YOU make
Every day you make decisions - consciously and unconsciously. It starts early in the morning. When the alarm clock rings. The question arises: should I get up?
If you choose it, you choose life. But what happens if you decide against it? When you don't want to get up anymore? If you don't want to LIVE anymore ?!
For everyone there has been - or there will be a moment - when they simply cannot go any further. But then you have to make a decision again: Do I ask someone for help? - Yes or no?
Such a decision is perhaps one of the hardest to make in your life. Why asking for help isn't that easy?
It could be because you're ashamed of not being able to do it on your own. You might think it'll be over soon anyway. Maybe it's because you can't formulate your problem properly. Or you are afraid that the person you are caring for with your problem will laugh at you.But maybe it is also the case that you don't know a person to whom you can trust your weak side.
So make up your mind - which of the reasons just mentioned applies to you? Or is it even someone else? Still, YOU decide why you do NOT ask someone for help.
But imagine that you choose the other variant. The one where you have to jump over your own shadow and trust someone other than you. What if nothing happens that you expected? What if she doesn't laugh at you? What if she understands you, no matter how stupid you talk about. What if you just dare? What will happen then?
Some of you are now probably thinking: what is so difficult about asking for help? I do that almost every day!
True, in a way you are right. People often ask for help without really realizing it. It's such an empty phrase: Can you give me a hand, please?
One could also say: could you please take this away from me?Or: Would you please continue to dry off, I have to go!
Such things are also part of calling for help. You notice that you are overwhelmed for this alone.
But that's not really what I mean by "asking for help". Whether you see it that way is your decision.
For me, calls for help are prayers that no one hears. That aren't even really prayers! When you first realize that you need help when others bump into it. When you lie in bed at night and suddenly you know: I need help. Someone to listen to me. Someone to tell me what to do.
Sometimes you even need someone to tell you what you WILL do. But it's your decision - will you let someone tell you? If so - do you listen to it? And if not - what else do you do?
You see, no matter what you decide, events always follow where you have to make new decisions.
Sometimes they will be right, but more often than not they are wrong. But don't worry: after all, you learn from mistakes! And it is up to you to decide whether you will do better next time or not.
So: Either you get up in the morning or you lie down.
Make a decision!
