Mâri Engel des Schicksals
Chapter1 / 1
Hi everyone !!!
Although I have another FF in the works (one wish comes true), I decided to start another one.
So and here comes the first part, the first chapter.
Chapter1 / 1
With eyes weeping red, she seems to be gazing into the unimaginably far distance. She sits there with her knees drawn to her narrow body. A fine scar can be seen on her right, tear-smeared cheek. Her auburn, neck-length, once shiny hair is dull and slightly matted. Only a red-colored, braided strand with a speckled duck feather still reminds of the beautiful days of her life. She stands up swaying and looks at herself again in the dusty mirror. Her eyes, tired and dull, have lost their beautiful green glow. It can't go on like this!
She still stood there in silence, with a determination on her face that had been unknown for a long time. Slowly she turned around, swaying slightly, and looked at the room in which she was standing. It was small and round and had no windows. There was no furniture except for the dusty wall mirror, which stood exactly opposite a heavy wooden door. The floor was made of old marble and the walls and ceiling were made of old stone.
The heavy wooden door creaked open and a thin boy with broad shoulders stepped hesitantly. "Mâri," he whispered in a low voice. The young woman named Mâri turned slowly to face him. When she saw the boy, her eyes seemed indifferent and empty. "Leave me alone," she said flatly. A shudder ran down her spine at the sound of her voice. Was that really her voice? Her voice, once soft and warm, was now rough, like two millstones rubbing against each other. "Mâri," the boy whispered again, "please, listen to me." There was something pleading in his voice, but Mâri shook his head slightly but firmly. A slight dizziness began to spread inside her. The young woman propped herself up against the mirror with one hand.,, Mâri, what about you? "Again she shook her head slightly. The dizziness grew stronger. Her face took on a slightly pained expression as she tried to concentrate," Mâri, let me help you, "said the boy with growing concern in his voice. Mari shook her head slightly again. The dizziness got worse and worse. Everything was spinning in her head. Her eyes were slowly disappearing. Her knees began to shake and it became more and more difficult to stand on her feet. Slowly she slipped down on her knees at the mirror and a comforting darkness fell around her.
She fell. The wind tore at her clothes and her hair. It seemed to fall for an eternity when it hit unexpectedly. The impact was soft, but all of her bones hurt. Reluctantly, she opened her eyes. She couldn't see except an impenetrable darkness. Carefully she tried to get up, but no sooner was she upright than she sank back to her knees. The dizziness came back. She screwed up her eyes and held her head, hoping it would get better. Then she heard a voice. The voice was nothing more than a whisper and yet it reached her ear clearly. In a melody unknown to her, she sang: "The shadows return from the dark,
Can't the light fight back long.
Just the crystal sword
Make the shadows fall.
Three who find it
Only one can lead it.
Six go, find the black, nameless stone,
Five return and one leaves everyone. "
When the voice had faded, Mari realized that she had been holding her breath. She took a deep breath and tried to get a clear thought. Her mind seemed to be submerged in an infinite mist. She wanted to get up and run after that strange voice, but she immediately sank back to her knees. A wave of pain spread inexorably within her. She closed her eyes and didn't want to feel anything, see anything anymore.Mari opened her eyes hesitantly. Her eyes were blurred and she could barely see anything. When her gaze gradually began to clear, she could see that she was still in the small, round room. She turned her head slightly and saw the boy kneeling beside her. The expression on his face was relieved when he realized that Mari had come to. She slowly turned her head on the other side. She didn't want to see him. He should leave her alone. Sheer hatred broke out in her when she thought that it was his fault, that she had no one left to love her. The boy said something, but she couldn't hear him, didn't want to hear him. It took a while for her to realize that he had left. Mari shivered when she realized that she was still lying on the old marble floor. Slowly she tried to get up, which she succeeded after a few tries. She stood there for a moment, her knees weak. It had taken a lot of strength to get up.When she wanted to go towards the door, swaying slightly, he happened to look at the mirror. She stared at her reflection in the mirror, unable to move. What she saw in the mirror wasn't really her at all. The person who saw her had slightly pointed ears and a black tattoo under the left eye. She stared at herself in the mirror, bewildered. What had happened to her? She grabbed her ears with trembling hands. She felt the peaks. She couldn't believe it. Her senses began to sharpen, but the exhaustion remained. Shaking slightly, she tore herself away from her reflection and headed for the door. It squeaked open. In front of her was a long coridor, dimly lit by a few almost burned out torches. She walked slowly through the corridors, being careful not to make any noise. She stopped at a bend. She heard faint footsteps not far away. She quickly looked around for a hiding place, and saw a door at the other end of the hall that she had not noticed before. As quietly and quickly as possible, she crept to the door and slipped inside. Inside she looked around. It was in a large library. She looked around with interest. She couldn't read or write, but she didn't care. She wandered back and forth between the shelves until she noticed a very old book bound in red leather. She took it out carefully and looked at the book cover. There were two crossed, gold-plated roses on it. One was withered and withered, but the other was blooming in all its glory. The book was pretty heavy. She was about to open it when she heard the door open.
