Chapter 1 - Moving - A New Beginning?

"Fiona! Hurry up, we want to go! The moving van is ready," called a very familiar voice.
"I'll be right there, Mom!" I called back. "I just have to do something quickly!"
I ran to the door and looked around my former room again. Only then did I notice the rotten boards in the corner where my closet used to be.
I walked slowly towards it, knelt in front of it and broke out a piece.
Behind it was a cavity and in the dark I saw an oval shape.I took the "thing" out and was amazed.
It was an egg! A pokemon egg!
I looked quickly at the door, then took my bag from my back and stowed the egg there. My mom would never allow me to own a Pokemon just like that if she wasn't sure I could really manage on my own.
I couldn't leave the egg here, so I took it with me without further ado.
"Fiona!"
My mother was getting impatient and I had completely forgotten that I still had something to do.
"Right now, mom!"
I quickly put my backpack back on and ran down the stairs.
"I'll be right back!" She told her before I ran to the next house.
I rang the bell hastily and waited for someone to open the door for me.
"Oh ... Fiona ..." I was greeted enthusiastically.
"Hi, Kevin," I replied at least as enthusiastically.
I dug a poke doll - a Hydropi doll - out of my pocket and tossed it in Kevin's face."You can have them back!" Were my last words before I turned on my heel and sprinted back to our car.
I left Kevin standing completely perplexed.

"There you are finally! What have you been doing for so long, Fiona?" Asked my mother, a little angry.
"Sorry, but I wanted to sort it out with Kevin," I replied. Though I hadn't really cleared it up.
"Are you sad?"
"Rather angry"
"It'll go away quickly, don't worry," my mother tried to cheer me up. Surprisingly, it also worked.
"Get in, we'll drive off then"
"Okay," I replied and got into the car.
Off to Wurzelheim.

"Fiona, we're here," my mother woke me from my twilight sleep and I glanced out the window. A small, idyllic village.
My mother had dreamed of it for a long time.
I got out and together we went into the house.
Muntier were at work everywhere. They cleaned, tidied things up and helped with carrying them."Isn't it nice here? You can certainly live nice here. The air is so fresh and it's so nice and quiet. Fiona, take a look at your room, I think the Pokemon have already given it up," my mother finally suggested .
"Fine," I said, and went up the stairs.
There were only two more doors in the upstairs hallway. I chose the right one and it was even right.
My bed, my closet, my chest of drawers, my mirror, my desk with the PC, the television with the console, everything was there.
I sat on my bed and fished the egg out of my backpack.
"What is going to slip out of you ...?" I whispered in my mind.
"Fiona! Your watch stopped before the move! Change the batteries!", My mother called to me.
I put the egg safely back in my backpack and set the clock to two.
Then I went back down the stairs and into my mother's living room.
"Oh! Fiona, quick! The blossom castle arena! They show your father!"
I sprinted the last bit, but when I arrived the news anchor announced the next topics."Too bad ... I thought you'd be happy to at least see your father on TV. He's so busy. But you can visit him better now, he lives in the next town. You just have to go through the forest and you're done you there ", my mother explained the way to me.
"Yes ... I'll go to the neighbors and introduce myself. Everyone here knows everyone anyway, right?" I said and smiled.
"Yes, just go. Oh yes, this village has a Pokemon laboratory. You can visit that too, if you want"
I nodded and left the house. As far as I could see there were only four other houses in this village anyway. One of them was the laboratory.
It wasn't a village. It was a lot less than that.
I decided to go to the neighboring house first and then visit the laboratory.
I rang the bell and waited.
A pretty young woman with wavy brown hair opened the door for me.
"Hello, my name is Fiona. I only moved into the house next to this today and wanted to get to know the neighbors," I explained."Hello, nice to meet you. You can call me Sissy. Come on in! You can go upstairs. You will find my son Brix in the room on the right. I am sure you will get along well!", Sissy said and asked me in.
I said thank you and went inside.
So here the children's rooms were always laid out on the right.
I went into the room, but it was empty. Brix wasn't there. But there was a pokeball on the floor.
I went to pick it up and put it on the table when suddenly someone shouted "Stop".
Startled, I spun around and looked straight into a pair of brown eyes.
This made me even more frightened and fell over.
The boy in front of me looked at me angrily, but then he became friendlier again.
"Who are you? And what are you doing here?" He asked.
"Uh, II am Fiona! I just wanted to come over and get acquainted with the neighbors," I explained.
"So you're our new neighbor? You moved in next to us, right? Well, I actually thought you were a boy.I heard the kid was moving here from an arena leader, hence the guess. Anyway, do you already have a Pokemon? "he finally asked.
Very nice, me and a boy.
"No, unfortunately not," I replied.
"Shall I catch you one? Oh ... Sorry, but I just remembered that I still have to help my father with the research. He's the professor and he owns the laboratory," said Brix.
"I'll go then," I said and turned around.
"Come over again tomorrow! Then I'll catch you one, definitely," said Brix.
"Thanks, see you later," I said goodbye and then went to the laboratory.
Halfway through I heard a scream.
I turned to the side and saw a little girl who was trembling and staring into the woods.
Without thinking I ran to her and asked what was going on.
"There ... there is a terrible Pokemon! I'm scared! The professor has gone into the forest!"
"I'll have a look," I said and ran on.It wasn't long before I saw the professor. He was being chased by a zigzach.
"HELP! HELP! HEY, YOU THERE! CAN YOU TAKE A BALL OUT OF YOUR BAG AND HELP ME?", He called to me and I just did what he said.
There were three balls in my pocket. I just took the best one and tossed it.
The result was a hydropi. That would normally have spoiled my mood, but I had to help someone here, so I ignored my own feelings and just did what I had to do.
"Come on Hydropi! Help the professor! Tackle!"
To my astonishment, it obeyed me and the Zigzach stomped and fled, frightened.
"Oh ... Thank you very much! I was studying in the tall grass and was suddenly attacked. Thank you for helping me! Wait ... You are Fiona! But, this is not the right place for a conversation, let's go to the lab, "he suggested and I followed him.
We explained to the girl at the edge of the forest what had happened and when she went home calmly, we continued our way to the laboratory."So you are Fiona. Your father has already told me a lot about you! I also found out that you don't have a Pokemon yet. But the way you just fought ... You were so relaxed!

"Why not? You don't have a Pokemon yet ..."
He looked so sad that I just couldn't have the heart to say no.
"Okay I take it"
Immediately he beamed again and I felt like an idiot.
"Have you already met Brix? Wouldn't it be great if you went to him now? He could teach you a lot about Pokemon! You can find him in the forest, he's near the lake""Okay, thanks," I said, and made my way.
