Chapter 3: Why?

~~~ Sasuke's Prov ~~~
The first rays of the sun fought their way through the black clouds and illuminated everything around them with warm light. I opened my eyes sleepily. I was gone a long time last night. The conversation with Itachi, if you could call it that, just wouldn't go away from my mind. We didn't really talk much. And yet his few words gave me food for thought.
There are people who are really worried about you. That's what he said to me. My mother was such a person. She often worried about me. And with her I knew that her feelings towards me were not played. You and grandmother are the only ones who make me feel loved.
I have often toyed with the idea of disappearing forever.But what would I do to my mother with that? It would break. I know I am all she has My dad never smiles for her. Only when other people are around does he show his great love for her. But I have been looking behind this facade for a long time. My parent just played all of this. Either the people around us had to be pretty stupid or he was just a good actor. Whereby I would rather go for the first one. After all, when I was eight I noticed what kind of game he was playing.
A little later I was standing in the bathroom getting ready for workout. Training from morning to evening. No day off during the week. So I was used to it. I just wondered what my father was trying to do with it. He never bragged that I was making great strides or anything. In general, he never spoke of me in the presence of others.
So I wondered why he was so determined to make a strong ninja out of me.Well, I would probably never find out.
I ran down the stairs dressed. When I got to the tea room, I saw my father sitting at the table with a newspaper. My mother was serving breakfast. With an easy morning I sat down at the table. Takemoto put the newspaper aside and took a sip of his tea.
My gaze slid to a picture. In the photo there were only people my age. These people passed the Chuunin exam. How I would like to be in a photo like this one day. I don't mean that I want to be in the newspaper, but simply with people my age.
I, too, had already passed the Chuunin exam. But a special measure was arranged for me. I didn't know myself how Father had arranged this with the Hokage.
I bowed my head and turned to the food that my mother was giving me. I ate the rice listlessly. As every morning there was silence at the table. After a few minutes, I and my parents were finished.I brought my dishes into the kitchen and was about to put my shoes on when my mother stood behind me.
"Please be careful," she whispered, stroking my hair. This touch. So small and yet it gave so much price. This touch shows me that she really loved me, but was also terribly worried about me.
I managed a small smile. Something I only did around her. I gave my mother a nod in response and had already disappeared out the door. With quick jumps I reached the edge of the forest and ran along the path that was supposed to take me to Grandfather.
This was already waiting for me. He shot at me with his piercing eyes.
“You're late.” That was the only thing he said before he got up heavily and walked with me into a large meadow.
He barely squinted my task for today. Something like survival training. In 4 hours I had to go through the whole forest and defuse the hidden traps.I just nodded and was gone after that.
There was hardly any daylight through the dense foliage. Again and again I heard animals crawling through the undergrowth. The leaves rustled slightly in the wind. After a while I found the first traps and defused them with ease. But my thoughts wandered back to a certain person. Or rather, what that person said.
Since I was so lost in thought, I did not notice where I was going. And as it had to come, my foot suddenly got stuck. I looked at the floor in amazement. My foot was stuck in a kind of hole. This "hole" contracted the more I moved.
"Kuso! Why did this have to happen to me." I called out loud.
"Maybe that's because you were so in your thoughts." Suddenly a familiar voice rang out and I turned my head quickly in that direction.
~~~ Itachis Prov ~~~
I didn't know why my steps pulled me into this dark forest of all places.But I just needed some rest from my father. As has so often been the case recently, we argued. Because of a little thing. Mother just stood by in silence. As is so often the case, her hands would be folded in her lap and her shoulders slightly hunched. Again that typical posture when she was uncomfortable.
How I would have loved to spare her this quarrel. But unfortunately it didn't work.
It was strange. There was hardly any light in this forest and yet the plants grew as if they were standing in the sun.
My steps carried me further and further. Until suddenly I saw a shadow disappear in a bush. Having become curious, I followed something. The distance got closer and closer and finally I could see that the "something" was a person. What was a person doing so deep in such a gloomy forest.
I could see that this person was defusing hidden traps. Could be part of a training session.
After a few minutes, however, the person suddenly stopped and I could hear the person cursing.A small ray of sunlight penetrated the small clearing and I could see the person who was trapped.
There was a boy there, cursing, with black hair and equally black eyes. Sasuke Uchiha.
“Maybe that's because your thoughts were like that.” His head snapped in my direction and his eyes widened. A smile crept on my face. So that's how they saw each other again.
"What are you doing here?", Sasuke asked.
"I could ask you the same thing." I only replied. Sasuke looked at me slightly confused. He bends down on his leg and tried to free it.
“I'm here for training.” At first I thought he wouldn't answer, but when he did, I was already wounded.
Somehow I could hear bitterness in his voice. Was he not satisfied with himself? I couldn't know because his head was bowed and I couldn't look him in the eye. I jumped from the tree on which I was just standing and walked over to him.When I got there, I bend down, pulled through a jutsu and gently pulled his leg out. I motioned for him to sit down. Confused, he sat down and I could feel his leg twitch slightly. The right lower leg was swollen and bleeding in some places. It would have been better if he hadn't tried to break free. So he had made things worse.
Without a word, I tore off a piece of cloth from my arm and used it to clean the small bleeding wounds. Then I gently bandaged his leg. From ankle to knee. Then I got up, pulled him up and supported him as he ran.
I don't know myself why I did this. I usually didn't care what happened to other people. But for some reason it was different with him. I noticed Sasuke's questioning look on me and shortly thereafter he asked his question.
“Why are you helping me?” I laughed at that. Yeah, I figured he was going to ask that question."You know what. I don't know myself."

And another cape finished. Sorry it might not be very long. But if I had written more, then I would have slipped into the next chapter. And then I didn't want that.
I would be very happy about commies of any kind. ^^
