Der einsame Kopfgeldjäger
she suddenly woke up so early. To her own confusion, she had dreamed of Kai, maybe that's why she couldn't sleep that long.Thiela had just finished breakfast and was about to go to the front door when her mother leaned backwards out of the bathroom and looked at her daughter in dismay. Thiela's mother wore a red headband so that her hair could not fall on her face and she looked a bit disheveled. "Tell me, where do you want to go so early? Maybe back to the park?", She asked provocatively. Thiela just smiled teasingly at her mother and left the house.
She was in a better mood than usual and was looking forward to the park. After about ten minutes she arrived at the park and it was still as beautiful as the day before. Thiela sat down on a bench, she came here earlier than yesterday and so the park was almost deserted. It almost seemed ghostly to her, but that way you could see the many flowers better. Why did Thiela come back here? She couldn't think clearly any more with every free minute. She inevitably had to think of Kai and therefore came back to this place, she had hoped to meet him here again, but there was no one to be seen.Thiela waited a while and during that time the park was filling up. What she particularly noticed this time, almost everyone who walked through or in the park had a newspaper with them and was busy reading. An elderly man, who was sitting on a bench next to Thiela, had left his newspaper lying around. She ran to the current newspaper and immediately sat down on this bench. A huge headline was emblazoned on the front page: "Man found dead, was it a cold-blooded murder?" Under this heading was a photo of a man lying on the floor covered in blood. Just as eagerly as the other people who had read this headline, Thiela opened the newspaper on the corresponding page and was shocked when she saw the picture of the murdered man. It was the man she had seen in the park yesterday! The article said that a black coat was found next to the body. This was also shown on a photo, didn't she know it from somewhere?Hadn't Kai worn a coat like that? But that couldn't be so, why should Kai do something like that? These and many more questions got in Thiela's way. She couldn't quite believe this newspaper article and so she went looking for Kai. According to the article, the dead man was found in the side street of Main Street, so Thiela made her way there.
On the way there, she kept asking passers-by if they had seen this boy before. But what exactly does Kai look like: Well, he's tall and slim. He's really handsome with his black hair. Back then he had lank, tousled, gelled hair and a black coat, a casually unbuttoned blue shirt and cool spotted army trousers. He should be found that way, but there was no better way to describe him, after all, she had only seen him once. Despite this vague description, no one was found who wanted to see Kai even once. After a few unsuccessful attempts to find Kai, she went down the side street anyway.
So this was where this man had been killed and the crime scene was still cordoned off. Thiela couldn't be stopped and just crawled under the barrier. Now she was standing where the dead man had been. There was still blood to be seen, but that wasn't what frightened Thiela so much. She was petrified, she had a feeling that someone was standing behind her. She could literally feel the breath of the person behind her, but didn't dare to look behind her. But suddenly she touched this person on the shoulder. She was about to scream when she saw that Kai was that person and with a finger in front of her lips a "shh!" suggested. He put his arms around her and pulled her into an alcove. Thiela was already thinking of the worst, but when Kai peered out of the niche and loosened his embrace, Thiela knew that his touch meant something else.Suddenly Thiela was torn from her dream world, because Kai whirled around frightened, was totally blown by the wind and held her mouth shut. What was going on, why was Kai acting so strange? But all of a sudden Kai pressed his lips to hers. Thiela got hot and cold at the same time, what did that mean? She turned bright red and clung to Kai. Then, out of nowhere, two policemen appeared and were amazed at the sight. "Hey, you two lovebirds, I would really ask you to do this somewhere else," said the policeman while scratching his nose in embarrassment. Kai gave the policeman a cool look, grabbed Thiela by the wrist and pulled her out of the niche, past the two surprised policemen, in the direction of Main Street.
He pulled her through the streets to the park, Thiela had no way of even defending herself against this grip. She was still in seventh heaven. She had just been kissed by the boy she had dreamed of for a long time! Arrived in the park, Kai stand in front of a tree, take a deep breath and let go of Thiela's wrist. It was still red and stood there as ordered and not picked up. She didn't dare to look at Kai, somehow it made her uncomfortable. Thiela looked embarrassed at her watch and saw that it was quite late. "It's almost noon and I have to go now, otherwise my mother will be worried," said Thiela sadly. She would have loved to stay here, but unfortunately that was not possible.
Thiela was already in the middle of walking when Kai held her and turned around. He looked at her with such an indescribably haunting look from his chestnut brown eyes that Thiela was spellbound. He didn't say a word, just looked at her and did nothing else. "What did you want in the side street? Did you read that trash in the newspaper too?" Kai asked suddenly, rather gruffly. The way he had said these words, his gaze suddenly changed to a cool, dismissive look. Kai suddenly didn't look so good-looking any more, just scary. "Yes, I read this article and went to see it," said Thiela defiantly - "and what was that supposed to mean in front of the police?" Thiela was amazed how confidently she could ask him that. Still, she didn't dare tell him that she had only gone there for the coat. Thiela looked at Kai because she was still expecting an answer, but he just looked at the newspaper in shock. Only now did Kai notice that his coat could be seen in the photo. Thiela followed his gaze and the thought shot through her head that the murderer is definitely a felon who has broken out, because only such people are capable of such cruel deeds. Kai's face reappeared in the newspaper and didn't look happy. He just dropped the newspaper and slowly walked towards Thiela. She was shocked by his cold and indifferent look and she took a few steps backwards until she felt the tree in her back. Kai came closer and closer, only stopped a few centimeters in front of her. Slowly he raised his hand, but only to support himself on the tree. First he looked at the floor and said in a calm voice: "So, so. Now I know why you came to this side street", and he suddenly looked at Thiela with an all-penetrating look. He came even closer to Thiela's face and said: "So you saw the picture of the coat in the newspaper and you suspect me now, don't you?" It was creepy how relaxed and cool he stayed with it. Thiela didn't dare to say anything, she was suddenly so afraid of Kai. She gave him a startled look and clutched the tree in desperation. Kai took a few steps back and seemed to relieve the tension between them, but Thiela took heart and went to Kai."No, I don't think you did that. When I recognized the coat, I was just worried about you. Can't I even look for you?" She asked in an uncertain voice. She looked pleadingly at Kai and went a little closer to him. Kai was surprised and stumbled back a little bit hard hit by Thiela's words and looked at her in astonishment. "Why did she say that now? And is she really serious?" Kai asked himself urgently. He just couldn't believe that she had said something like that to him. Otherwise nobody cared if he was sick or in trouble. So why Thiela? "You can trust me, I'm not lying!" Thiela said seriously. Kai touched his forehead, "Didn't you want to go?" He turned around, went to a bench and sat down, always with his back to Thiela. She followed him and sat down next to him, but sensed that something was wrong."Now believe me. It's true what I'm saying," she told him in a calm voice. Kai didn't look at her yet, but slowly he was beginning to trust her. Thiela took him on the shoulder and slowly turned him around. Kai looked unhappy and looked at Thiela for help. Thiela hesitated a bit, but then she hugged him spontaneously. Kai looked startled and quickly wriggled out of her embrace. He moved to the end of the bench and drew his arms protectively in front of him. He stuttered: "Wa... Wa... What was that supposed to mean ?!" he asked, very horrified. Nobody had done something like that with him before and so Kai didn't even know what to do.
"Well, at least you ... kissed me earlier. And I just wanted to cheer you up," she said, a little uncertain. But she was right, he wasn't ashamed of just kissing her in front of people. Kai was visibly shocked. It was not even clear to him that Thiela had taken this kiss so seriously. For him, the kiss was just a means to an end, nothing more. But what now? Kai sat in his seat and looked rather confused at the floor. Thiela unexpectedly slipped closer to him and asked him in a serious voice: "What have you been doing in this side street? The coat is definitely not a coincidence, otherwise you would have it on today." Kai did not look up and remained silent. In Thiela the suspicion arose that Kai might have killed this man. But why should he have done such a hideous thing? That is exactly why she did not give up. Kai suddenly held his hand in front of her face so that she would be silent. "I ... I just couldn't help myself," he said dejectedly. "You know, I ... am a bounty hunter, can you imagine anything by that?" Thiela looked at Kai, confused, did she just get that right? “Approximately, yes.” Thiela
