Chapter 1.Green
He was sitting between all the students in the great hall. The students patted around and laughter echoed across the room. Every now and then the door to the hall would be opened and small groups of students would enter, as they had recently been busy elsewhere. But now, in the evening, hunger lured her here. The Hufflepuff Quidditch players were one of the last to join because they had recently been training.Freshly showered and broken, they sat down in their seats. The teachers sat at their table and talked. Every now and then their eyes wandered around the hall to check that everything was really in order. Everything seemed to be the same as usual. But it wasn't like that.
Harry looked at his plate. He did not feel hungry, which has often been the case lately. He wanted, no, he couldn't eat. Not here, not at this moment. It just didn't work. If Hermione had seen this, I bet she would have preached the importance of eating. That the body needs energy to be able to do work and that it drew useful nutrients from the food and converted them into energy. He would probably have blinked helplessly at Ron so that he could do something about it. He would have made a comment that would most likely have pissed her off. Maybe it would have turned into an argument. Maybe. He did not know. Because Hermione wasn't here with him. Neither does Ron. He was utterly alone.
He didn't know anyone at his house table. Most seemed to ignore him. They didn't care that Harry Potter was sitting at their table. And they did it of their own accord. He hadn't used a spell for that that made him look different. You could also see his scar under his messy hair on his forehead. They noticed him, knew that he was there, but paid no heed to him.
And otherwise there were no secret glances at him either. No fingers pointing at him. And no whispering in which his name appeared. In fact, he could have enjoyed not attracting any attention. Where he had wished that quite often. Just to be normal. Not to be seen as a hero who had managed to weaken the worst black magician of his time as a baby and to have faced him several times and still barely escaped death. But he couldn't.
He raised his gaze and let it wander through the crowd. It got stuck on a badge of a student in his house. He took a closer look. It was a green one. No red that radiated warmth. It was a cold green. And it seemed to suck any heat out. It stood for ambush and cunning, not for courage and strength. Slytherin, not Gryffindor.
He put the fork, which he had carelessly held in his hand, down on the table. He never thought that something like this could happen. That he was put on the election again. More or less.

Flashback
Now for the second time in his life, he was sitting in the chair with the talking hat on his head. This time, however, his head wasn't completely engulfed in hat. It suited him a lot better than the last time. Today, however, the hat did not allow long to be put off. He heard the squeaky voice in his head again.
"Oh, I think you fit in very well ... SLYTHERIN!", shouting the last word out into the hall. He sat there shocked and petrified. He was assigned to Slytherin? That was surely a mistake! How could that be?"
Mc Gonagall stepped up to take his hat off. When she was standing next to him, he awoke from his stupor. When she took his hat off, she pointed to the Slytherin table. He rose lazily. The Slytherins clap, as was the custom when a new student is classified as a Slytherin. He hardly noticed it. It seemed surreal to him. But he wasn't the only one who was shocked. As he walked to his table, their eyes met for a brief moment. Astonishment was reflected in the eyes of the other person. ...
