Sighing, Kagome ran down the path, followed closely by her friends. The group had been heading north since they had caught this tremendously strong wind three days ago. According to Miroku, there should be a village that was famous for its summer temperatures.
The village called Shiiadou.
But Kagome didn't exactly think it was 'summery'. Wherever she looked the plants withered and every ten minutes this cold wind, which had caught her three days ago, swept over her.
"Oh man, why did you just let yourself be beaten up by her!" Inuyasha grumbled reproachfully. "We have been on the road for days but we still haven't found anything. It's just a waste of time!"
"Just because we haven't found anything yet doesn't mean we won't find anything.", Sango said coolly.
"Stop whining, Inuyasha. We'll be there soon. I can already see some fields.", Miroku said with a smile.
Kagome also discovered the fields on which some farmers were standing. She gave a short giggle and then said: "Come on, let's go over to you and talk to you."
Sango nodded and added: "Yes, maybe you know something that might interest us!"
The group approached the three farmers. You could already hear them arguing wildly.
"... and when I checked the next morning, all my crops were iced over. This harvest is the worst that has ever been here. And then always this wind! That is more than scary to me ..."
"Not only you, I also feel uneasy about all this. I asked Miko Chiriko, but she doesn't know what to do either."
"What ?! If even the honorable Chiriko doesn't know what to do, we are lost!"
"Um ... sorry ..."
The peasants interrupted their intense conversation and turned their heads to the girl's voice they had just heard.Kagome smiled apologetically and asked gently: "I'm sorry if I disturb the conversation, but I wanted to ask you if you know anything about this cold wind. We are traveling and wanted to investigate."
The farmer on the far right had a beard and a wrinkled face. He fixed Kagome with his small eyes and nodded sadly. "Yes, girl, unfortunately. This wind has haunted us for a long time. It destroys our crops and freezes us."
"And you don't know why it's suddenly so cold here?" Miroku asked. "You must have a suspicion."
A somewhat younger farmer with messy brown hair spoke up. "Oh yes, we have a suspicion!" He growled angrily. "I'm sure the snow demons in the mountains are to blame for this disaster!"
He pointed to some mountains that towered behind the village. They were all covered in snow.
"Ever since these beasts were there, snow has been falling in the area. It's their fault, there's no doubt about that!"“Huh, demons!?!” Inuyasha grinned arrogantly. "They'll soon be history when I've taken care of them!"
"Oh, would you do that?" Asked a small, old man leaning on a crutch hopefully. "May I know your names, oh brave heroes?"
Inuyasha's grin widened.
"I'm Inuyasha!" He said aloud.

"I'm Kagome.", She said at the end.
The men's eyes widened. The boy exclaimed: "Are you the Miko Kagome ?!"
Kagome smiled puzzled.
"Maybe.", She mumbled shyly.
“Oh, honorable Miko Kagome!” The little old man beamed with joy. "You absolutely have to get to know Miko Chiriko!"
"Chiriko?" Asked Sango. "Where does she live?"
The man who stood on the right pointed to a house made of wood. A light layer of ice was already forming on the roof and there was no door, just an opening through which one could enter.
"This is the house of our honorable Miko.Go visit them. She will surely be able to help you more than we poor farmers. "
"Thank you for your help!" Said Kagome gratefully and bowed appropriately. Then she and her friends walked towards the house.
"I've never heard of a Miko named Chiriko," Sango said quietly.
"Me neither.", Miroku replied. "But most likely she will be an old, wrinkled woman, like old Kaede."
"If you think so," said Kagome, smiling and Sango rolled his eyes.

Kagome led the group to the "door" of the house, but suddenly they stopped.
"What's going on?" Inu asked annoyed.
"We can't just go in there like that ..." Kagome mumbled. "That would be a break-in."
Sango stepped forward. She poked her head through the doorway.
"Hello is someone there?"
The demon hunter looked around to the right and left until her gaze suddenly fell on a young Fau who came rushing. She stopped in the frame of the entrance and looked at the five friends in confusion."What are you doing here?" She asked anxiously.
The stranger had blond, wavy and short hair, which she tried to tame with an orange hair band. She also had an "x" shaped scarf wrapped around her chest and a green scarf with white trimmings served as a skirt.
She was dressed quite freely, Kagome thought.
The black-haired woman wanted to say something, but Miroku got ahead of her. He grabbed the girl's hands and asked with a serious tone in his voice: "Oh strange beauty, do you want to bear me a child?"
The girl blushed with shame and Sango hit Miroku hard on the back of the head. "What are you thinking, you lusty pig?", She snapped and pulled him backwards so that Kagome could step forward again.
"Excuse me very much!", She mumbled, embarrassed, and looked at the floor.
The blonde girl smiled a bit confused at first, but then asked: "Won't you tell me why you are here?"
Kagome nodded.
"Yes," she replied."Do you know where will old Miko find Chiriko?"
The girl looked at the friends in surprise, but then started giggling.
The giggles quickly turned into laughter.
After the stranger had calmed down, Shippou, who was sitting on Kagome's shoulder, asked, "What's so funny?"
The girl tucked a strand of hair behind her ears and said with a friendly tone in her voice: "Well, she's not exactly old. Miko Chiriko is actually quite pretty. And young. And you have already met her."
Inuyasha stumbled back a few steps in surprise. "W-what ?! You, woman ...?"
The girl smiled and proudly put her hands on her hips.
"Yes!" She announced. "Iam Miko Chiriko. Nice to meet you!"
