The walls loomed black from the night sky, no more than a dark outline in the distance and yet so close that the child shuddered.
The attack was over and the girl was just crawling out of her hiding place.
Everything was burned.
She started down in disbelief and waited for the pain that never came. She did not understand it, everyone was dead. Her parents, friends, relatives simply all of them, burned along with the city.
Sometimes the wind drove thick clouds of smoke over to the child and brought with it the incredible heat of the fire and its smells.
The girl was freezing as it stood and heading for the city, although it was still hot. It must have been hours after it crept out of its hiding place, first screaming, then only sobbing softly to itself. The evening had been young when it made its way home from playing.
But the dead was faster.
She watched as the dead fly away and destroyed everything on his way, she heard the frightened residents screaming for their lives and looking in vain for a way out.And then it got quiet.
Since then it has been standing here, a dark-haired girl, only ten summers old. What didn’t realize that she became a wise man in one night and not just that. She was completely alone. Everyone she knew was burned.
So she stood here, undecided to do something, just staring at the city. She didn't know how long she stood there until she heard footsteps and turned around. She ran quickly down the hill towards the strange figure, but stopped halfway and looked at it in amazement. It was a tall, middle-aged woman. She wasn't someone the girl had ever seen before. The woman had long, snow-white hair tied in a braid and skin as dark as Eben Holz and her eyes seemed to shine in a light red tone in the dark of the night. She shrank back a little. Because her clothes were also something strange - black leather, shimmering in the color-eating dark of the night, that lay close to her body and a long black coat that reached down to the floor and had a very long hood. Her peculiar clothing indicated that she was slim, but sporty that betrayed great strength and even greater agility. The stranger clearly didn't come from here and something about her calm demeanor made the child ponder. And even though she had no obvious weapons, the child's inner voice told the girl that she still had to be careful.
They stood facing each other for a long time, then the stranger broke the silence. "Is that you?
Sole survivor? "The girl nodded." And now you are sad? "And the child nodded again. The woman kicked one of them and screamed at her and crouched down, motioned the child to sit down and then looked up at the stars." Would you like me to tell you a story? "The woman asked, looking at the child. It hesitated a moment, but then curiosity won out and she agreed.
