Chapter 4: Everything New?

The high-pitched sound of the alarm clock woke the blue-haired girl. She checked her watch and, in her opinion, it was way too early. She just slept too little. But she could wish as much as she wanted to be able to sleep, it didn't change her situation.
So she decided not to waste her time, but to quickly cook something for her so-called family.
After that was done, she showered and got ready for school. When she looked in the hall mirror, fully dressed, bag in hand, she saw only a shadow of herself. Outwardly she looked the same as always. But if you looked deep into her eyes, you discovered nothing but an inner emptiness. Her gaze was dull, no emotion seemed to be found there.
Except fear. Fear of people. Afraid of getting hurt again. Fear of being left alone.

As she made her way to school, she realized what a vicious circle she was in. When she got to know someone, she didn't open up to him so that he wouldn't hurt her. But that way she would always be alone!

When he got to school, Hinata went to the notice board where the substitution plan was posted. It showed whether an hour was canceled, substituted, or postponed. Usually she never stood on it, but today was different. Her first two hours were canceled.
"Great, what do I do now? I'm definitely not going home!", She said to herself and decided to go into town.
Without really thinking about it, she ran through the streets, guided like a puppet. And suddenly she found herself in front of an ice cream parlor. But not in front of anybody, but in front of the one she had sat in with this boy!Why did she come here of all places?
Without worrying about it, she went in and sat down. The blue-haired girl ordered a cappuccino and stared straight ahead for a good hour.

"Hey!" Someone said to Hinata. However, she didn't expect anyone to speak to her, so she didn't turn around. She thought it was someone else who was being addressed. But when the person just sat down in the seat across from her, she noticed that the boy was talking to her. "Oh, hey. Sorry, I didn't think anyone would talk to me."
It was that blonde boy named Naruto again. How often had they seen each other in the last few days, although they didn't know each other?
"No problem," he smiled. “But what do you do in an ice cream parlor early in the morning? Shouldn't you be in school?” She cocked her head. "My first two lessons are canceled. And you? You have school too, don't you?" He nodded. “Yes, but not until later.” Then silence fell over her. But it wasn't an awkward silence like it usually was when you ran out of things to talk about. She was quite pleasant and sometimes it seemed to Hinata as if the blond boy understood her without words.
Once again it was he who broke the silence. "Say, don't we want to do something together?" She looked up from her cappuccino, completely confused. Had this nice, handsome boy asked the most insignificant, unpopular girl in all of Queens if they wanted to meet ?! As if he had read her mind, he laughed. "Yes, I asked you! Don't worry, this shouldn't be a date or anything. I thought you never have enough friends and you could get to know each other?"
Hinata looked into his face. He seemed to mean it honestly. Actually she wanted to say no, but before she even knew what she was saying, she said: "Sure." Surprised by herself, she looked back into her cup.She didn't want to let anyone get near her. But there was something so trusting about this boy. Something that made her kind of like him. She wasn't in love with him or anything, but she liked him. She was extremely sympathetic to him.
"Well, then just give me a call when you have the time, okay? I would do that, but I don't have your number. Besides, I have to now, my lessons are about to start." And before the blue-haired woman could say anything can, he was gone.
With a look at the clock she realized that her class was about to start too, so she set off.

The first hours went as usual. She did the lessons and the rest of the class hardly cared about the teacher.
Suddenly, however, there was a knock on the door and the school secretary entered. Apparently there was a new announcement to be made. And so it was. Because not only she entered the classroom, but also another person.
It was a girl, probably her age. Tall, pink-haired, green-eyed and very pretty. And of course, it immediately caught the attention of every boy in the classroom. "Hey, is the cutie coming into our class?" One of the students asked, turning to the secretary.
She stabbed him with a sour look because of his choice of words before she nodded. "Yes, exactly. You will have a new classmate. Does anyone volunteer to show Miss Haruno the school and help her get along?"
As expected, a few answered, mostly boys. The pink-haired girl, however, seemed to be giving Hinata an intense look. "Can I choose someone?" She asked. "Of course". And to everyone's surprise, she chose "the blue-haired girl in the front row".
The secretary nodded in satisfaction and walked away. The new girl sat next to Hinata and smiled at her. "Hey, I'm Sakura."" Hinata ", the person addressed only answered and was surprised that her new classmate also seemed to have a Japanese name.

In the next free period, Hinata showed the girl much of the school and seemed to enjoy it. You could see it in her face.
In general, it seemed as if she was showing her emotions openly, which the blue-haired woman envied a little. As well as their beauty. In this one free period Sakura had already been given a few phone numbers, which she put in her pocket, completely disinterested.
"They're all pretty boys here, but I'm not looking for a boyfriend at the moment," she said to her companion, although she hadn't asked for it at all.
Then the pink-haired man was shown the rest of the school and various things were clarified. But she couldn't remember very much, so she asked Hinata to continue to accompany her through the school for the following days and since it was helpful and had no reason not to, she agreed.

Back home, Hinata made dinner and immediately went to her room without having lunch. However, her father and sister did not seem to miss her.
The young girl started her homework, but after a while it was finished. "Did we get so little homework?" She asked herself.
Shrugging, she went to get other school supplies and tried to study, but despite her hard work, she just didn't feel like doing it.
In addition, the weather was very nice and she thought about leaving the house. Should she call the blond boy?
She would like to spend some time with him because he seemed to understand her in a way that not even Neji could. But wouldn't it look like she's chasing him? After all, he had only asked her this morning. On the other hand: Nothing could go wrong. She hoped.
So she picked up the phone, before she changed her mind, and resolutely dialed the number on the green napkin. It rang a few times before a slightly sleepy voice answered. “Naruto Uzumaki here.” At first she didn't dare to say anything, but after a few seconds she jerked herself: “Hey, this is Hinata.” Short silence, in which Naruto was probably awake. “Oh, hey!” Again she could visualize his grin. "I assume you have time?" First the blue-haired nodded when she realized that he didn't see her. "Yes. And I thought ... well ... we could maybe do something together?" "Gladly, we can meet you in half an hour at the ice cream parlor this morning?" "Okay." "Great," he said enthusiastic, "see you soon!"
Hinata hung up and looked at the receiver in her hand. Had she actually called a boy, talked more or less to him, and then arranged a meeting? "Well, let's go then," she mumbled, grabbed a small bag, told her father she was going to the library and then went to the ice cream parlor.
