Der Strudel der Zeiten

prolog

"Kagome, please stop or I'll take you back by force. You can bet on that," Inuyasha shouted these words after her and looked anything but happy. And if it had to be, yes if it had to be, then he would make his threat and just throw her over his shoulder and drag her along so that she had no chance to defend herself. But as always, he missed this tiny little detail that he would like to banish from his memory. But before he could do anything, it came.

"Sit", Kagome's voice echoed through the forest and forced Inu Yasha to smooch the floor and lie in the dust with an angry expression. This girl just knew how to use her power over the Hanyou. She wasn't sorry to hurl this hated word at him so that he was out of action for a few seconds, not in the least. No, it was more of a malicious joy for her. Basically she liked him, but he could be a huge puke every now and then, and that wasn't just her opinion."It's your own fault that she's going now," Sango intervened and looked down at the Hanyou with a "I-told-you-so" look, but made no move to help him up. She had finally warned him against throwing such things at Kagome, but if you didn't want to hear, you had to feel. And Inuyasha was definitely the type of guy who only saw when he got one on the lid. And even then he was stubborn as ever and played the poor insulted liver sausage. It didn't occur to him that he had made a mistake.

Kagome went on steadfast, not even thinking of turning around and going back to the others. They couldn't help it, but they just needed some rest before the stressful Middle Ages. In her mind, she longed for a hot and relaxing bath in the bathtub at home, followed by a TV evening with the family. Her grandfather would turn things on her again and besiege her with stories she didn't want to hear, but that was all better than enduring Inu Yasha's bad mood.

The calls of the others could be heard from further and further away and at some point disappeared completely. The young girl had walked a long way and would soon reach her destination, the bone-eating well. This would bring her back to her time when she had peace and quiet from all these problems. She had enough there too, but they were nothing compared to these here. In modern times, at least no one tried to kill her and rob her of her soul. However, there she had to deal with her teenage problems, and with ... Houjou.

The boy had been after her for a while and used every opportunity to shower Kagome with presents and ask her on a date. Most of the time she declined with thanks, but often enough she accepted so as not to offend him.The evenings were always funny, despite Houjou's advances, which Kagome had meanwhile cleverly avoided. He was a nice guy, but not exactly her type. She had someone else in mind, but she was still very far from telling that person. He just wouldn't understand, not yet ...

Suddenly she felt something fly past her ear and suddenly pulled her out of her thoughts. She turned around with a jerk and saw, her face took on a surprised expression, Shippo. The little fox demon sat with pleading face on the edge of the well and Kagome could only too well imagine why he was here. She should come back. But she certainly wouldn't do him that favor.

"No, I won't come back, you can remove your make-up right away, my dear", she put her hands on her hips in a stern voice, "This time nobody can get me back. The measure is full and I need mine again Quiet."Shippo nodded in understanding: "I know, but it's always so boring when you're not there."
A small smile formed on the girl's lips and she knew once again why she was so fond of Shippo. He could just show his feelings and stand by what he thought and felt.

"Shippo, I just don't feel like it anymore, you understand? I need my rest and Inu Yasha should kindly accept that, otherwise he can look for someone else to look for the jewel splinters with him", Kagome didn't really mean it, and she thought in life not to stop with the search, but at that moment such a great anger rose in her high that she would have liked to hit something. Sometimes her temper just ran away with her.

Sadly, Shippo pulled away and saw that there was no point in talking to Kagome now. She would just block anyway and insist on her point of view. Although she was actually right about her action, Inuyasha really had gone too far again. But he only seemed to notice that afterwards. And then not even an apology could be heard from his mouth. Kagome shouted "I'll be back soon" in reparation and then jumped into the well to get her time.

It was now noon there and Kagome's mother was preparing the meal. Souta and her grandfather were just sorting out some old odds and ends, which Kagome's little brother didn't really seem to be enthusiastic about. That didn't surprise Kagome in the least, because she had never really enjoyed it when she had to help her grandfather with something like that. This just annoyed until you finally consented and he got his way again.

While you eventually helped him, he bored you with horror stories and all sorts of occult things. The latter had become interesting for Kagome since she knew old Japan and lived in it more or less, and she also listened now and then when he was telling these stories. Her sudden interest had pleased him very much and their relationship to each other had gotten a lot better than it already was.

With a "I'm back" she stepped inside the cozy apartment building and, as always, took off her shoes and put them aside. At that moment, her mother hurried up to her from the kitchen and immediately hugged her daughter. It was always a relief for her when she returned safe and sound.
"Nice that you are back", she pulled away from her and took a step back to look at her. Kagome looked strangely pale this time and looked somehow sad. Different than usual when she came back.

Usually she was either angry because Inuyasha's words had gone too far with his words; or else she was cheerful and happy and her good mood was palpable. But this time it was different. It was more of a sadness emanating from Kagome. Sure, she'd been sad many times, but this time it was kind of strange.Did it have something to do with Inuyasha? Because he had been the cause of her sadness more than once, if not the way it is now.

"I'll go up to my room then," said Kagome and she walked past her mother up the stairs. The whole argument with Inuyasha had affected her more than she had initially thought. Why did he always have to talk about YOU? It was always just:
Kikyo, Kikyo, Kikyo. Didn't he even notice how much he hurt her with it? Didn't he notice that she hated to talk about this mean beast that had not only stolen a part of her soul, but something much ... more valuable?

With gloomy thoughts, the girl continued up the stairs and then first made her way to her room. She needed rest now and didn't want to see anyone at the moment. Kagome let himself fall on the bed and began to stretch there with relish. She had missed that again, a soft and comfortable bed where she didn't have to complain of back pain the next morning. But she couldn't sleep now because she still had a few important things to do. She still had to shower and eat a little. Because she hadn't done the latter since yesterday noon, which is why her stomach began to growl loudly now.

She came downstairs to her family an hour later, freshly showered. The shower had obviously done her good and she looked much more refreshed than before. Now she was in a pretty decent mood again and part of her sadness had disappeared from her face. When she was very hungry, she finally began to eat and was eyed skeptically by her family. Kagome's mother had already told them that they should be careful what they said because something seemed to be wrong with their daughter. But none of the three had been able to summon up to now to ask.

As she ate, Kagome thought. Her thoughts went on a roller coaster and she couldn't decide whether to curse Inuyasha or to forgive him.She did not miss the skeptical and worried looks of her family. Even they noticed that she was not doing well. In contrast to Inuyasha. After his Kikyo talk he had asked her boldly why she looked so funny. As a result, the girl's collar had burst and she had thrown wild things at his head, which she could no longer remember.

It all ended with the falling out and Kagome stomping off in anger, leaving the others behind. But in a few days the world would look different again. Then their minds had calmed down and they could deal with each other like normal people again. More or less...
The rest of the meal was quiet, to her delight, because she couldn't bear to answer any annoying questions, even though she knew that her family only meant well when they cared about Kagome.

"The food was good," said Kagome as cheerfully as possible and put on a mock smile. She no longer wanted to see the worried looks.
But no one seemed to take the sudden change in mood seriously, because they only nodded and said nothing more. The worried looks stayed.
Slowly she got up, put her dishes in the sink and said goodbye: "I am tired and would like to sleep now. I hope you don't take it amiss", with these words she politely bowed to her family again and left then back up.

She was indeed very tired and was looking forward to lying in her warm, comfortable bed and forgetting everything for a few hours.
Yawning, she curled up like a cat and soon fell asleep. All problems were far away from her at that moment and she was able to drift off into a peaceful sleep.
And she was right, tomorrow the world would be different ...
