Chapter: Merry Christmas with a difference

Merry Chrismas differently

Information:
Characters appearing: Kitty (16 years), Pyro (17 years), Logan (but only for a short time)
Location: Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters
Time: At Christmas

This one-shot does not play before, after or during the films, it is freely detached and theoretically all characters are still alive (even if only three occur anyway ^ .-)
John just lives in the institute and actually has nothing to do with Magneto, only his arrogant character has remained (I love the XD)

Personal picking:
Yeah, I know it's not Christmas XDD but I just felt like writing a story that takes place on that day, ka why
John's past is fictitious (in the film you don't know exactly how he got into the X-Men) so it may well be that he has a very different past in another one-shot.
Well, now I've drooled your ears full enough (oops, almost more than the whole FF)Merry Chrismas with a difference

It was snowing - again the white flakes floated gracefully from the sky and covered the landscape, which was already covered over and over with snow, even more with the cool blanket. Everyone was looking forward to the holidays, the evening and all the presents, having fun in the snow and hoping to meet the right person under one of the numerous mistletoe branches.

John Allerdyce - also known as Pyro - was probably the only person in Xavier's institute who more than disliked this condition. Well, the vacation was great, but John hated snow. He hated winter in general, and most of all the young fire mutant hated Christmas.

It had to do with the fact that John's skills had shown themselves for the first time at Christmas - he had accidentally set the Christmas tree on fire. That same night he landed on the street. They'd abandoned him in the middle of New York. In the middle of an icy cold New York full of the snow that has hated since then.John sat alone in the common room. A warm fire crackled in the fireplace. The others were either busy decorating the huge Christmas tree in the entrance hall or trying unsuccessfully to beat Bobby in a snowball fight. The young fire mutant did none of these things, instead he made fun of changing the shape of the fire so that it portrayed the X-Men as caricatures.

John decided to get something to drink from the kitchen and then hide deep in his room for the rest of the miserable evening so as not to hear about Christmas. He got up and took a quick look out the window. The sun was already halfway behind the horizon. He was pleased to see that almost all of the X-Men had a snowball fight against Bobby. The chances were high he wouldn't find any of them.

The brown-blond-haired boy knew that if he wanted to go into the kitchen, he couldn't avoid crossing the entrance hall.He strode through the corridors - his hands buried deep in his trouser pockets - and hoped to find as few X-Men as possible in the hall.

Today must be my lucky day. John thought delighted when he entered the hall and none of the others could be seen. Only the fully decorated Christmas tree guarded the entrance of the institute. John's features became a little less grim. And he continued on his way a little faster

But the joy was short-lived. "Bobby, is that you? Please help me quickly!" John bit his lip when he recognized the voice and thought annoyed:[k]Everyone, just not YOU![/k]

Before John had a chance to flee, a girl stuck her head of brown hair out from behind the Christmas tree. When she saw the fire devil instead of Bobby, her voice was nowhere near as friendly as before. "Oh .. it's you."

"Mind, Kitty-Cat?" John replied harshly, wishing he was back in the common room in front of the nice warm fire. The young fire mutant started to move on.

Kitty rolled her eyes and forced a smile, before she asked in a pleading voice, “Can you please help me hang up the last Christmas tree balls?” You could tell how much it had cost her to ask John to do it .

The fire devil of course savored this moment to the full and of course wanted to prevent it from being over so quickly. "I could help you if I was nice - but what do I get for it?" John winked at Kitty with a grin.

“Are you going to help me now or not ?!” Kitty hissed annoyed and pretended that she hadn't heard the question he had asked earlier.

John just kept grinning and finally nodded before following her to an erected ladder. Kitty was really surprised by Pyro's decision and quietly mumbled: "Thank you" But the fire devil had just come up with a good idea how Christmas could be interesting. As soon as Kitty reached the top of the ladder, John handed her a few balls. While Kitty was now busy hanging up, John gave the ladder a gentle push, which was enough to throw Kitty - together with the ladder - off balance. Kitty cried out in shock as she and the ladder fell onto the huge Christmas tree.

John couldn't help but comment when Kitty pulled the Christmas tree to the ground with her: “That's what they call the domino effect.” He laughed, while the room was filled with the clink of hundreds of glass balls.

If looks could kill, then the young fire mutant would have died very painfully on Kittys Blich. The brown-haired woman just didn't get any serious injuries because she phased herself in time.

"John Allerdyce you are ...!" John did not find out what he thought Kitty was, because the brunette paused when she noticed that John's expression changed from gleeful to expressionless to fearful.Kitty frowned and raised an eyebrow questioningly, it really wasn't funny to her anymore. "What is it now, you idiot?" She hissed at him.

John still made no sound - which was strange in itself, since otherwise he could always make an appropriate comment immediately - and Kitty noticed that he was slowly walking backwards. His gaze was no longer on the brown-haired woman, who only now understood: "Somebody's behind me, right?"

“Full marks!” Kitty closed her eyes. She didn't even have to look at the owner of that voice to know who it belonged to. It was unmistakably Logan's husky, growled voice. "You were the last I would have expected that from." Logan just shook his head in disbelief and then snapped at John: "And you! Don't imagine you can just disappear! Follow me, both of you!"

Slowly the sun had completely disappeared behind the horizon, so that it was already getting dark. The institute was already brightly lit and everyone was taking part in at least tidying up the entrance hall.

With the exception of two people. Kitty and John stood side by side, both armed with snow shovels. Logan hadn't given them time to change into something warmer. All he had to do was hand them the snow shovels, instruct them what to do, and then slam the door. It was freezing cold and the breath of the two formed little clouds. Actually, it would have been child's play for Pyro to make it a little warmer and the snow that had to be swept aside could have melted in a flash. But Logan had made the plausible argument that whoever made use of his abilities - in spite of the ban on them - would not survive the day after Christmas. And you could never be sure with Logan that he wasn't serious.

John stared sullenly at the huge driveway full of snow that had to be cleaned. That would take them - even if they hurried - hours and by then they would be frozen to death long ago. "You really are the biggest idiot I've ever met !!!" Kitty snorted angrily. The brown-haired woman already had half-frozen fingers when she began to sweep the snow aside.

"You don't have a joke, do you, Kitten ?! It was just a joke! Key?" John snapped back and never dreamed of helping Kitty. “At least you have a Christmas that isn't as crappy as everyone else!” He added, and was surprised that Kitty didn't get the expected backlash.

John got sick of it after the first ten minutes - he hadn't lifted a finger. "We won't be finished with this crap here in a hundred years and then you can set us up as ice sculptures." He said and kicked a pile of snow and then dropped his shovel into the snow. Then he shoved his already clammy hands deep into his trouser pockets and stepped out into the night.John lay down in the snow. The starry sky was clearly visible, although it had meanwhile started to snow again. Slowly John even got used to the cold, even if he had to reckon with a bad cold.
Suddenly the crunch of shoes could be heard in the snow and John perked up. If Logan came now, there would be even more trouble - not that the fire devil cared much. He raised his head and the surprise was evident when Kitty stood in front of him. Before he could let go of a stupid saying, she had already sat down next to him ...

John was expecting the brown-haired girl to start reproaching him about the Christmas tree and wished she had a pack of ear plugs with her. But Kitty was silent and looked at the starry sky.

Finally, after a while, Shadowcat raised her voice: "The stars today are beautiful .." It wasn't the usual rough undertone that always resonated in her voice when she talked to John. This time her voice was gentle, if not friendly. John noticed that the young mutant was trembling.

The fire devil's gaze wandered from Kitty to the sky and ... back again. John didn't know why, but he just couldn't take his eyes off Kitty, even if he could only see her blurred in the dark. "Mmhjah ..." he finally mumbled - John hadn't really looked at the stars, his eyes still rested on Kitty.

A few minutes passed in which the silence prevailed, but it was not icy silence but something completely different.

As if he had needed several minutes to come up with these words, John only now continued: “Are you cold?” He closed his eyes, why was he suddenly speaking normally and without stupid remarks to Kitty. The brown-blond-haired boy felt compelled to add something else: "Kitten
