Fanfic: Max in Love

about the accident ... I hope you weren't injured!" She looked at him worriedly. // Are you worried about me? // Max shook his head in dismay. "I'm fine. I didn't even have a scratch ... thanks to you ..." He looked sadly at the floor. "Thank God!I made it in time. Otherwise something could have happened to you! "She closed her eyes again with relief and enjoyed the sun on her skin." To be honest, I would have preferred it if nothing had happened to you ... it ... was all my fault. "Whispered Max now. The brown-haired woman opened her eyes wide: "You shouldn't think that at all! It was not your fault! And not that much happened to me either. And at least it had a good one ... you were with me every day ... "She had whispered the last words so softly that he would not have understood if he had not looked at her.
Max smiled at her. // She has always been concerned about the welfare of those around her. But she also has to think about her own safety! // "That was dangerous Leena! You must never do something like this again, promise me that!" He looked at her seriously. Leena replied embarrassed: "Only if you promise me not to run away again ..." She looked at him with her bright green eyes and his breath caught. // What should I answer that now? Oh man, she really turns my head ... I can't tell her that I was jealous ... // Max was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even notice a girl joining them and grinned broadly at him. Leena looked at him in disbelief and then examined the strange girl. She had orange hair and wore round glasses. Her clothes resembled those of a tennis player.
The strange girl got impatient and shook Max out of his thoughts by falling around his neck: "Max, we haven't seen each other in ages! How are you? Why didn't you write to me anymore? Judy is annoyed because of it ! "She had huddled between the two of them on the bench. // Great, what's the point now ?! Didn't she see that we wanted to talk? // Jealousy rose in Leena and she decided to get up and leave. Just as she had pulled herself up, a tall, blond boy in a baseball cap came up to her. "Good day." he smiled at her apologetically. "I'm sorry, she's not usually that rude. I'm Michael and this is Emily. We belong to the PPB All Starz," he explained.
Leena remembered that Max was once on this team and smiled at Michael. "Hi Michael, I'm Leena. The newest member of the Bladebreaker team." They shook hands and turned to Max and Emily.
"Have you finished talking now?" Michael wanted to know now and looked at Emily with a raised eyebrow. "Not really." gave this back. But Michael didn't seem to care and he said to Max: "Your newcomer is really nice. Any problem if I go up against you?" he winked at Max, who looked horrified at Leena. // When did she get up? I really didn't notice anything about Emily // "Uh, no, you have to ask her yourself if she wants to blade against you. She's actually in the hospital. I don't even know if she can blade ..."

Michael now turned to Leena. "Oh princess, what happened to you? If I had been there I would have protected you!" With these words he had gently pulled her close and took her hand. He had actually only come with me because he hoped to be able to compete against Max, but he had nothing against a little flirt with such a pretty blader. He especially enjoyed it because he noticed that Max was annoyed when he held Leena in his arms like that.
"Sorry, I'd rather skip the fight today. I haven't been able to get up again since yesterday and I'm still quite shaky on my feet." said Leena apologetically. She was uncomfortable with his presence, but she didn't have the strength to free herself from his arms anyway. So she didn't even try.
// I guess I can't hope for Max anymore. He's busy with Emily now ... // She thought and then said: "Excuse me, please. I'm tired. It would be better if I go back to my room and lie down. Thank you for visiting Max. "She waved to him and was about to leave when Michael took her hand again and said:" Wait, princess, I who ... "But then he was interrupted by Max, who pushed past him and Leena in his arms Hospital and shouted to him: "I'll do that! We'll fight another time, I promise!" // Kindly don't touch Leena! He doesn't even need to pretend that he can dig her up with his stupid princess gibberish // His jealousy had seized him and he didn't even know what he was doing. But he couldn't and didn't want to watch Michael get on his Leena. His courage surprised himself.
Then, confident of victory, he went to the hospital with Leena in her arms, who was holding on to him.

She had reflexively put her arms around his neck when he picked her up. It all happened so quickly, she couldn't believe what had just happened. //What! What is he doing there? Am I dreaming? Am I in a coma and all this is just a wishful dream? If so, I don't want to wake up. // Leena snuggled up against him and closed her eyes with a blissful smile. Right now she was happier than ever. Her Max carried her in his arms. It couldn't be nicer. The feelings of happiness flooded her body and Max did not hide her joy either. // Apparently I did everything right this time. // He remembered Ray encouraging him yesterday by saying he had to take every chance. "How right he was." he said, not realizing that he had said it out loud. Leena looked up at her beaming knight. "Who was right?" she wanted to know now. But Max just shook his head and laughed at her. His eyes shone.
When Leena no longer heard the other two complain, she whispered to Max: "Actually, I don't want to go back yet. I just didn't want to bother you and your friends any further."
The whispered thought briefly and then asked: "Where do you want to go now? I don't feel like seeing them either."

After a few minutes they were on the roof of the hospital. From here you could see the whole city. Max carefully put his team colleague down, but she made no move to break away from him. Which was fine with him. So he could enjoy her company for a while. She looked him in the eye. "You wanted to promise me something else." she grinned at him. He didn't know what she meant and it took a few minutes to answer her: "Ok, I won't run away again.
Satisfied with that, Leena dared to ask him why he was running away. But Max was silent. // I just can't tell her. 'I was jealous of your brother' how stupid that may sound. //
Something seemed to be wrong with Max. The girl took a step back so as not to press him any further. She turned away and looked at the city. In a few days she had to go home to her strict mother and father, who was actually never at home. She was already dreading her mother's grumbling. But she didn't want to think about that now. "What's wrong with you?" she asked Max to get him to talk again. However, he was still not ready to talk to her and remained silent. “God Max now finally speak!” Impatiently she added: “If you have a problem with me then tell me and don't keep silent."// What should I do now? I don't want to tell her // He felt cornered by her words and screamed at her in panic:" Yes, I have a problem with you! But I don't want to talk about it! "
Her eyes widened. Did he just really say he had a problem with her? // Great Leena, there you have your answer! It was clear that he doesn't love you. But on the contrary. You probably bug him all the time and he just didn't mean to be rude. It's good that you didn't confess your feelings to him! // she thought as she silently made her way to her room.
Max stood there petrified. It took ten minutes for him to realize what he had done. "Shit! Leena wait, that's not what I meant!" // What have I done again // But Leena was long gone. He looked for her all over the hospital and when he got to her room and wanted to open the door a nurse pulled him away from the door and snapped at him. "Young man you are not allowed in there! The patient does not want a visit! I have to ask her to go now!" Max yelled for his team colleague but the nurse had already pulled him far enough away.
He decided not to give up and to come back tomorrow after school.

On the way to her room a nurse met her: "Miss Floyd, are you all right? You look so pale." she asked Leena. She nodded her head and asked not to let any visitors to her. She wanted to be alone now. Once in her room, she immediately lay down in her bed and stared at the ceiling. She lay there until late at night, she hadn't responded to the nurses or the professor. And she hadn't said another word. Her thoughts slowly got going and shortly before they rolled over, Leena pulled herself up and wrote another text message. Then she crouched and started crying. Until she fell asleep lonely.
