Chapter: Play with friendship
"Before we start our breakfast, I would like to announce some sad news to all of you. Stanley Stevenson, Gryffindor student, tragically died in an accident last night." Dumbledore lowered his voice as the whispering began. Suddenly Maike jumped up from the Ravenclaw table and ran out sobbing. “What was that supposed to mean?” Alice, who had made herself comfortable next to Nojiko, looked after her confused. "She hardly knew him!" James, Sirius and Nojiko gave each other embarrassed looks, apparently Stan had reached his goal after all ...
By lunchtime there were a hundred rumors about the manner of Stanley's death, some out of thin air and others very close to the truth. "No, he was found in the Forbidden Forest ..." Malia whispered to a boy as the two of them passed the Marauders. Remus looked unhappy and sighed deeply before hiding behind his book again. “Moony, what's wrong with you?” James pushed the reading down enough that they could meet their boyfriend's eyes. "It's Maike ..." He apparently didn't want to say more and started reading again. “Well, if you don't want to tell us!” Padfoot shook his head and James shrugged. "Well, I was with her earlier and she said, hold on tight: she thinks Stanley was the love of her life. Until this morning she didn't even know he existed!" He was really angry, something that rarely seen at Moony. “Just forget about her, man! She's just a girl!” Peter miraculously managed to say the wrong thing and earned only angry looks for it.
"We're having a man's night today! Sirius, what do you think?" James grinned all over his face and tried to pull his friends away. “Did Lily say no again?” Of course they saw right through the scam, so Krone just nodded and then said: “Come on, old boy!Just the four of us! Sorry Nojiko ... "She waved it off, she was used to it too. Typical Marauder!" Well ... "Sirius wasn't enthusiastic, but he gave up because he knew that his friend would annoy him forever otherwise." Fine! "Remus closed the book and sighed. These men's evenings were anathema to him, but it was meant nicely. Now everyone's eyes fell on Peter, who blushed and began to stutter." I can't ... Sorry people but ... I have ... do you have plans already?! "He blushed even more so that he looked like a Christmas apple and stared at his feet." Wormtail has a girlfriend! "James jumped up and began to sing loudly." Wormtail has a girlfriend, Wormtail ... "He laughed and disappeared from the common room, the echo of his singing still echoing in the hallways!
“We should go too!” Nojiko didn't want to have any more trouble than already. She would be detained again today and then go to the dormitory so as not to get in the way of the boys. Although, she would like to play mouse on one of those evenings that they just spent among themselves. They stumbled into spells just in time and caught a reproachful look from Flitwick for it. To her horror, Nojiko sat next to Snape, who was extremely bad at this subject and needed your help. He stared at her the whole hour, which she ignored as much as possible. “You are really good for a pureblood!” A compliment from his mouth? Yuck!
There were few people Sunny found as unsympathetic as Severus, but she wanted to give him a chance. Maybe he could be nice after all! “You have to do it differently, like this!” She demonstrated the movement with the magic wand and smiled cheerfully at him, “I don't need any instruction in front of you!” The little boy with the oversized nose growled angrily and Sunny decided it was just fine to let go and continue to ignore him.
It was evening, after an exhausting hour of detention, she went up to the dormitory. There was a book there: Quidditch Through the Ages. Who gave it to her? She flipped through the pages excitedly but found no clue. There were an infinite number of images of players, brooms and tactics but no news. Most knew they were passionate about the game, so it could come from anyone. Strange ... Still, she was really happy about it and decided to ask Lily if she had seen anyone who had put the book up here. The red-haired favorite student of all teachers sat alone by the fireplace and read one of her innumerable books. As always, when she did that, she didn't notice anything of her surroundings. She was completely lost in history!
"Hey, am I bothering you?" Lily winced when she felt Nojiko's hand on her shoulder. "Don't always scare me like that! No, of course you don't bother me." She looked sad, probably because of Stanley. Everyone was taken with it, especially the mood in Gryffindor was gloomy. It was as if a dark shadow had fallen over the students. “I once had a question: did you see someone today who put this fantastic book on my bed?” She held it up and waited for a reaction. "No, not that I knew. When I was upstairs a few minutes ago, there was nothing there!" That was strange again ... Nojiko got goose bumps, something was wrong! Had she searched everything thoroughly? She flipped through each page one more time and there it was ...
Quidditch - I know it's not a lot, but it's also one of your great passions!
I love you more than anyone has ever loved you and every day without you is torture! Watching you has become my favorite hobby, but I wish I could do more ...
In love,
your admirer
PS: Come to the Whomping Willow - now!
Oh God! She shivered, turned pale, and dropped the book on the floor. Why hadn't she just seen it?She was holding this page in her hand, had looked at the pictures, but only now had the writing appeared! Lily read the dedication and then swallowed. "What now? You don't really want to go, do you?" But she knew her friend too well, she would look into it. "Yes, this has to stop. I'm sure it's just a bad joke! If I catch that ... Hey, don't worry! I have my wand and you know I'm damn good!" She just wished she were half as confident how it sounded! With an encouraging smile, she got up and gave her friend a hug. "You don't mean it, do you? I don't want anything to happen to you!" Lily was panicked, she was afraid for her friend and overly cautious after the last few events. But Nojiko wasn't going to be dissuaded, she just had to go.
Heart pounding, she went into the dormitory, then into the bathroom, and locked the door behind her. The window in here was small, but still big enough for a bird! Before landing next to the pasture, she carefully observed the area. Nobody was to be seen, the entire area was dark and deserted in front of her. Even in Hagrid's hut there were no lights left! It seemed safe ... As a hawk, her eyes were good enough to see a mouse in the tall grass, not to mention any threats! She just had to find a place to secretly transform back. And that she did, behind a bush she became a person again and looked around anxiously. Her hands were sweating, she was shaking, and her teeth were chattering but no one was there.
Suddenly she heard something that made her breath catch! The rustling, the same thing Remus had heard. It was like a wave of darkness and despair sloshing through the forest, over the grounds and the castle! Remus hadn't noticed it in his werewolf form, but the whole area seemed bleak and deserted. The birds had stopped singing, everything was dead quiet except for this rustling! Hadn't she heard it softly on the Quidditch field back then? She'd dismissed it as a hallucination, but now! Whatever it was, it was getting closer! It would happen to her like Monlos, she would die! But why them? Panic filled her, tears gathering in her eyes and blurring her vision. But then something inside of her shook off the stupor and told her to run away.
Her legs obeyed and she ran through the grass as fast as she could. She felt a sharp pain in her ribs, her lungs burned, but she knew she couldn't stop. She had finally reached Hogwarts, she ran into the entrance hall and was just about to go up the stairs when she saw a figure come downstairs. She jumped into one of Filch's broom closets and held her breath. Snape? Yes, it was him, no doubt and next to him was Peter! They walked quietly side by side and yet, you couldn't feel the slightest hostility! What did that mean? Before they could think again, the two disappeared again and she stepped exhausted from the closet. Quietly and unnoticed, she flew out through a window and straight into the dormitory, she had to be alone. Lily was already asleep and she too fell into a restless sleep as soon as she touched the bed.
Sleep was out of the question anywhere else, Peter ran quietly next to Snape and wondered what to say. "I don't want anything to do with you! Your threats don't matter to me at all! You don't hurt my parents!" Yes, he should say that, but he couldn't. He was betraying his friends here, but he had no choice. Snape was on his side, he would help him. The two had become friends that year, just as Peter got along with Regulus Black and Narcissa. They weren't as bad as everyone said and most of all they hated Nojiko Strife as much as he did!Though, he wasn't sure about Snape. Sometimes when he talked about her, his gaze wandered into the distance and a dreamy expression appeared on his face. Peter regretted him the day he talked to Lucius and listened to his ideas. But now it was too late, his parents almost died because of it and he couldn't let that happen. Snape would help him - he had to! And Regulus was so much better than his arrogant brother, the crush!
Peter didn't know when he first felt hatred for his ex-boyfriend, but he did. No, he actually, if he was honest, he remembered the break with the Marauders well. When Black broke his nose for picking a girl off her broom! The Marauders never wanted to argue about women and he was even beaten up because of that arrogant Strife goose. Just because a spell had gone wrong, she was still alive after all! But Sirius had been angry, very angry.
