Chapter: The book

Voldemort turned in surprise, his eyes widening in horror when he saw who was standing in the doorway. He took a step back and bumped into the desk. On which the now burned book lay. Dumbledore's spell had scorched the pages, only a few small scraps left scattered on the floor! "Cru ..." Voldemort raised his wand and pointed at the old wizard, but he just smiled wearily. “You don't want to attack me, Tom!” He called him by his old name, nobody else dared! Anyone who addressed him by the name of his hated Muggle father had to expect his anger and it was hard to bear! But Dumbledore wasn't afraid of him and when he did he hid them cleverly.

"What's that Tom? Why are you here?" Dumbledore, who was also holding a wand in his hand, came closer and closer. Voldemort felt cornered, he had to do something! Only what? The source was lost, he hadn't been able to carry out his plan! All he had left was retreat! But he wasn't going to give up anytime soon, he was the dreaded Lord Voldemort after all! “Fancy a duel?” He wanted to provoke so that his old director made a mistake, but he stayed calm and smiled tiredly. "You probably won't give me any other choice ... Immobilus!"

James, who until then had still fought with the snake for his friend's life, looked surprised at the two wizards. Dumbledore had frozen Nagini just a few meters from Krone. He got to his feet and cast one last suspicious look at the snake before bending down to his friend. "Moony, that will be back! Can you hear me? Just don't pass out! You have to tell me something - anything!" He knew that Remus would die if he passed out now! James knelt next to him, bedding his friend's head in his lap and holding his sweaty hand as tightly as he could.“Tell me about May!” A blissful smile appeared on Remus 'face, he sighed softly and then looked directly into James' eyes. "She wants to go out with me ..." His voice was rough, almost hoarse, and hesitant but at least he spoke! Tears of joy came to Krone's eyes.

“Avada Kedavra!” Voldemort hissed at the other end of the room and a flash of green illuminated the area before he missed his target and hit one of the walls. “I will not use any of the unforgivable curses!” Dumbledore's stubbornness enraged Voldemort, he wanted to teach this old would-be wizard a lesson he would not soon forget! “Do you think you can intimidate me with your fire tricks?” He couldn't believe it! He, the most feared wizard in the world challenged Dumbledore to a duel and all he brought were sayings that every first grader could master! “Stupor!” Voldemort dodged at the last second, a scratch forming on his cheek. Dark blood ran down his face, he wiped it away angrily. His eyes were now almost bright red with hatred! He had been too slow, he hadn't seen it, but it wouldn't happen to him next time! “Serpensortia!” A snake was hurled to the ground in front of Dumbledore and hissed upright.

"You have to hold on, it'll be over soon! Please, Moony!" Remus just nodded weakly, he was cold and his leg hurt like hell! James, who was sitting next to him, tried to keep him awake but the urge to close his eyes was irresistible. No, he had to fight! He was not allowed to fall asleep, otherwise he would never wake up again! The snake's poison worked, he felt it. "My leg is slowly going numb ... I can no longer feel my foot crown!" He was panic, what if it could no longer be healed? "What happens there?" he asked as he caught the lights out of the corner of his eye. "Dumbledore is fighting Voldemort and he's winning!"A curse struck right next to Nojiko's face, from the sudden warmth and the splintering stones she woke up and looked around! There was Dumbledore, fighting Voldemort ... Sirius! She had to go to him, just how? She could do it! Nojiko crawled carefully on all fours to her friend, she was afraid that Voldemort would notice her, but he was too busy with Dumbledore. Finally she was with him, she felt his pulse with a pounding heart. A wave of relief flooded her when she found a sign of life on paw. She slapped his cheek gently and whispered his name and sure enough, he woke up. "Nojiko? What ... are you okay?" The worry in his eyes was too much for her, she couldn't hold back her tears and buried her face in her hands.

Two strong arms held her tight, Sirius hugged her and mumbled, "Shh, it's fine. Everything's going to be fine, it's over!" He looked around and found James and Remus at the far end of the room. He really hoped they were fine too! "It's my fault, I never would have ..." He cut her off by lifting her chin a little with his fingers. "It's not your fault, everything will be fine. All right?" He looked at her intently, she nodded. Then the two ran to their friends in a crouched position. "James, what about him?" Sirius knelt next to Krone while Nojiko took Remus' pulse.

"He's passed out, he's weak but he's still alive! Your wand, quick!" Sunny took the wand from James, who looked at her questioningly and pleadingly at the same time. How did this saying work? She had read it in one of her books yesterday! Come on think! Finally she remembered, leaning over Moony and mumbling a few quiet words. The unconscious gasped and grimaced. "Severe pain? The spell prevents the poison from getting into the bloodstream, but it also removes its numbing effect!"Voldemort no longer paid any attention to the youth behind him, only Dumbledore mattered to him! He had to defeat him! In his immeasurable anger, he became completely immersed in his hatred of the director of Hogwarts, so that he was no longer aware of his surroundings. The old wizard had parried each of his attacks with ease and that drove him insane! He wanted to see Dumbledore on the floor, begging for mercy! In his mind's eye, the image of a broken man without a magic wand, begging him, the mighty Lord Voldemort, to spare him. This brief moment of inattention had consequences. “Expelliamus!” Without knowing what was happening to him, he was suddenly thrown backwards, his wand flew in a high arc across the room and landed at Dumbledore's feet.

He had lost! How was that possible? He was Lord Voldemort, the most powerful of all wizards! “You will pay for that.” He hissed dangerously before disappearing with a wave of his hand. Nagini, the snake vanished with him and his wand also disappeared. Dumbledore hurried to his students, who were all seated around Remus and encouraged him. “I'm taking him to Madam Pomfrey, come!” The boy had to go to the hospital wing immediately! He picked up Remus and led the way, followed closely by the three silent marauders. They ran through the Forbidden Forest, across the grounds and finally through the castle until they finally got to the nurse!

"Snake venom! Quick, Poppy!" Dumbledore called before Madam Pomfrey could say anything. She nodded and got a large bottle with a greenish potion while Dumbledore laid the boy on an empty bed. "Drink this and you'll soon be better." The nurse poured Remus a few spoons of the medicine and watched with satisfaction as the patient lay back and fell asleep. “Will he get through?” It was Nojiko, her voice was trembling and she was pale as a sheet."Yes, it was close, but he'll make it! And now out, he needs rest!" When the three teenagers and their director disappeared, Poppy smeared Moony's leg with a paste to heal the wound, but he didn't get any of it nothing with.

Dumbledore led the three to his office where Lily was still waiting. “Didn't I say you should go to bed?” But Lily didn't hear him at all, she fell sobbing into the arms of the Marauders and hugged them very tightly. When they broke apart, Nojiko stepped forward and looked Dumbledore straight in the eye. Not many could do that, especially not at this age ... "It's my fault, sir! I understand if you don't want to see me at Hogwarts anymore!" James, Sirius and Lily wanted to protest but the headmaster held them back with a wave of his hand. "Ms. Strife, you can't help it at all. Do me a favor, take it into your own hands!"

He handed her a piece of paper, a scrap from the source of wisdom, and she took it with trembling hands. Suddenly she winced, thousands of voices spoke in her head at once and screamed at one another! Startled, she let go and stared at the director in horror. "As I thought ... You see, the source of wisdom attracts those who can read it. Yes, I know what you are thinking now: It was just blank pages, but there is more to it. In an old text it says it, only he who speaks the language of hearts and minds can read the book. This means the language of thought, because the thoughts are exactly that: the gateway to our soul, to our heart and to our mind. Voldemort knew that, that's why it attracted them and the attraction of the book did the rest. You hear some of the lyrics in your head, Nojiko! Well, there is no reason for you to leave school, quite the opposite! "

James and Sirius nodded affirmatively while Lily fell on her friend's neck again."You have all done Hogwarts and the world of magic a great service! For he who knows the secrets would be infinitely powerful!" Dumbledore smiled encouragingly at them. "Now in the common room with you ..." Everyone turned to leave, they were tired after the night and felt every nerve in their body. “But how did he get the book?” This time it was James who looked curiously at Dumbledore. "Professor Monlos has only signed up as a teacher here to look for the book, I knew that. I also knew that he found it, but he used a memory-clearing spell. Voldemort must have broken it, who knows how ... Nobody besides him knows where the book was hidden! "With that they were satisfied, they went silently into the common room and sank into the armchairs. McGonagall was no longer there, she must have already been informed. "What a night ..." Lily sighed softly as she snuggled up against Nojiko.
