Chapter: Secret admirer

The owl mail came the next day. James, in a somewhat good mood by now, received a letter from his mother inviting him to the Christmas party. “You should come too, Paw!” Sirius nodded and looked seriously at his best friend. "I don't know, I actually wanted to stay at Hogwarts ..." Nojiko never went home for the holidays and the Marauders mostly spent their free two weeks pranking. This time, however, the worried parents of Remus and Peter had asked them both home and Sirius didn't want to leave his girlfriend all alone. James, who had already suspected something like that, announced: “Don't worry, Sunny is also invited!” Padfoot grinned and then said: “Well, if that's the case, then of course I'll be happy to come!"

Nojiko was already looking forward to Christmas with the Potters, that was much better than sitting depressed and lonely at Hogwarts. But it was still a while before this festival and until then they had to spend a lot of school hours. She still had to buy presents for her friends and didn't know when to find time for them! “So what is it, Sunny, are you coming?” James tore her from her thoughts, she nodded and smiled. Christmas with James and Sirius, actually only Lily was missing and everything would be perfect.

The friends left at their first hour and were watched everywhere by suspicious-looking ghosts and paintings. That didn't get any better all day, you weren't alone or undisturbed anywhere, something that really bothered the Marauders. They wanted to try to catch up on their party after Christmas and couldn't think of a plan anywhere. "We have to plan our meeting during the holidays and then let the others know!" James said with a wink to his friends as they climbed through the entrance to the common room. Behind them came Alice Minnigham and Kingsley Shacklebolt, who had recently been a couple. Frank Longbottom didn’t leave their side, his jealousy could not be overlooked but he didn’t want to admit it.McGonagall was waiting for her students in Gryffindor Tower, counting each one until she gave Flitwick permission to retire.

Lily was sitting next to one of the tables, a big grin on her face. She waved to her friend, whereupon Nojiko said goodbye to the Marauders and sat down next to the girl with the beautiful red hair. “What's so funny?” Was the first question Sunny asked as soon as she was comfortable in the armchair. Lily gave her a small package and grinned even wider. “What am I supposed to do with that?” Nojiko didn't know what her friend was getting at and looked at her a little annoyed. "Well, I was just in the dormitory and it was on your bed!" Sunny looked at the package suspiciously, who was going to send her something? It couldn't have been brought in by a boy because they couldn't go into the girls' dormitory! But it hadn't been searched either, and mail was excluded. "Just open it, who knows, maybe it says who it is from inside!"

Nojiko sighed and carefully opened the package. She almost expected it to go wild, but nothing happened! Inside was a box of chocolates wrapped in tissue paper. “Wow, that's cute!” Lily was blown away, but Nojiko didn't like the whole thing. She put the package on the table in front of her and decided to ignore it. “What is that?” That too, Malia stood next to her and eyed the chocolate. “Nojiko has an admirer who sends her sweets!” How did Lily want to know that these chocolates came from a boy?

“May I try?” Nojiko nodded and Malia fished out an admittedly delicious-looking, heart-shaped praline. She put it in her mouth immediately and grinned. Suddenly her eyes widened in horror, grabbed her neck and made choking noises! “Oh no, what about you?” Nojiko jumped up and grabbed the girl by the shoulders so that she wouldn't pass out.Nobody seemed to have noticed the scene, McGonagall was talking to Remus and the others were doing books and homework. Malia rolled her eyes so that the white of her eyeballs could be seen and crashed forward. Nojiko couldn't hold her and just managed to navigate both of them towards the sofa before she lost her balance and fell onto the couch. Lily clapped her hands over her mouth, unable to do anything, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Nojiko was almost crushed by the weight, she wanted to call McGonagall when Malia suddenly jumped up. "Now I got you guys! I was really convincing, wasn't it?" Nojiko couldn't believe it, she felt a hot anger rise within her. "What are you thinking of? Do you know what a scare you gave us?" Malia just shrugged her shoulders. "I was just kidding ..." That was enough, Nojiko got up, reached out and gave her a slap in the face! The two stood breathing heavily and stared at each other with hatred. The red handprint of Nojiko was visible on Malia's cheek, who now clenched her fists and, as everyone could clearly see, was about to explode. Lily sensed that the situation was about to get terribly out of hand, so she got up too and stood between the two. Sure, she was angry with Malia too, but she thought freaking out was a little exaggerated! She had to get the two girls apart very quickly.

She looked around for help, but still no one had noticed. A few first graders were playing catch loudly, claiming everyone's attention. "Calm down first! I'm sure Malia is sorry and Nojiko didn't want to rub you either!" She tried to sound as diplomatic as possible and to take no sides. She had known the two of them long enough to know both the heated temperament of one and the thoughtlessness of the other and was not necessarily surprised by the recent events."I'm going to bed. Lily, good night!" Nojiko turned around and left the room with her head held high. You had to give her one thing, she had a flair for dramatic appearances and exits! “What is this bitch doing?” Malia rubbed her still reddened cheek and stared angrily after Sunny.

"Why are you doing something like that? You know exactly how sensitive she is to such jokes!" Lily looked reproachfully at her friend. "It was a joke ... But I'll pay her back!" Malia's pride was offended, she couldn't stand Strife anyway and secretly swore revenge. But how? She really had to meet her rival, she wanted to see her cry! An excellent idea occurred to her, she smiled to herself and then said: "I'll go to Dilia! See you later!" Lily stayed behind, shaking her head, sometimes she really couldn't understand her friends. The fateful chocolates were still on the table, but now you could see a little white note where the chocolate heart had been before. Lily carefully pulled out all of the candy and then pulled out the paper. It was the finest parchment, written on with great difficulty ... She got up and ran up to the dormitory.

Upstairs, Nojiko was lying on her bed with her eyes closed and her hands clawed into her pillow. She was seething with anger, she would have loved to hit something or someone! She didn't like Malia, she hadn't liked this girl since her first day, but since her fourth year it was over for good! Back then, on the first Hogsmeade weekend, Nojiko had been out with James because they both needed a Christmas present for Sirius. But Krone saw Lily in a shop and of course ran there immediately. Whereupon Sunny continued to search alone and behind one of the shelves in the honey pot she heard Malia telling dear Dilia that she absolutely couldn't stand Nojiko. After the two had blasphemed happily, Sunny stepped in front of the two, who immediately stammered excuses and tried to make everything fun.

Since then, Nojiko had spoken to the two of them as little as possible, she avoided their company as much as possible and only talked to Lily when she was alone. But that today was clearly too much! Everyone knew that Sunny Strife was very sensitive to death scenarios of any kind, perhaps because her aunt had died early. Suddenly she opened her eyes, she had heard a noise ... Someone came running up the stairs. The door opened and Lily ran across the room. She recognized her friend immediately by the small, tripping steps and straightened up. "I'm sorry, sometimes she's just ..." The pretty red-haired girl searched for a suitable word. "Stupid?"

"Actually, I wanted to say thoughtlessly, but good. Look, I found that in the box, it was under the chocolates!" Lily Evans handed her best friend the note, which she had crumpled up slightly on the way up. "I don't want to have anything to do with it anymore, eat the chocolate or give it away, I don't care!" Nojiko laid the fine paper carelessly on her bedspread and crossed her legs, her elbows on her knees. "Then I'll read it to you." Before Nojiko could react, Lily had already grabbed the letter, cleared her throat and read the few lines in a mocking voice.

"I hope you enjoyed the chocolate, my dearest!

I couldn't find a gift that lived up to your charm, but these chocolates are similar to the color of your wonderful hair.

If you want to thank me, come alone to the Quidditch field a week after the next full moon at midnight.

Your eternally loving admirer who prefers to stay in the dark "

Nojiko grimaced, Lily began to laugh out loud."You really turned someone's head ..." They looked at each other and snorted. Sunny reread the letter stunned before handing it back to Evans. "Do me a favor, burn this note in the fireplace! Oh, and the chocolate is yours!" Lily was still laughing when she went back into the common room, but Nojiko was not in the least scary. How did this letter get in and who was able to write it? With the best will in the world, she couldn't think of anyone who was crazy enough for something like that. Should she tell her friends about it? Better not, she didn't want a jealous Sirius watching her every step ... She dropped back on her covers and soon fell asleep.
