Die Vergangenheit kommt wieder

Joined the organization

That's exactly how it was back then, that day when I met her, Akemi Miyano, that girl whose smile was so wonderful that the sun had to start shining.
I often had to think of her, over and over again, but I didn't really know why. How did I feel then? Could that be love? I couldn't answer that question, I didn't know what it was like to be in love. I didn't have to think about it for a long time. I had to do my job, and after I finally got out of the hospital, I got ready to do it.
As I did before, I went to the firing range and looked around. I did not discover anyone from the organization, it amazed me because I thought that they would be there to look for new members. Apparently I was wrong, but I didn't want to give up. I had to try, come what may. In retrospect, I'm glad I kept trying, this behavior was the only right thing I could do. As an FBI agent, I couldn't give up, no matter what it looked like. In addition, I was also a sniper, I was trimmed so that I had to wait a long time before something had developed out of a situation and I was then able to assess the new situation and take concrete action.
I slowly went into the hall, identified myself as Dai Moroboshi and was given my first weapon under that name. I did some target practice in silence. Of course I always hit the target, I couldn't do otherwise and I didn't want to hide my abilities either. The organization was purposely supposed to see how good I was, that was the only thing that mattered here. I didn't show anything, but actually I was just waiting for them to speak to me or for them to make themselves known in some way. My gaze wandered a little from time to time and then I saw her again. The young woman who hit me. What was she doing here? I didn’t understand any of this, it didn’t suit her at all to be in a place like this.
"Why don't you wear black? You know very well that we all wear black or have you already forgotten that?", Akemi was asked by another man. Only on closer inspection did I recognize a somewhat older man in a black suit. Maybe he was part of the organization. After all, I couldn't be sure that I would meet the same men here again as I had then. It was a shame that I wouldn't run into the other two men again, but maybe it was just better that way.
"I thought we should look for new members here, it doesn't matter what I'm wearing," replied Akemi. She didn't seem happy, but she still went on with her 'job'.
"It doesn't matter now. Come on, let's take a closer look at the riflemen," ordered the older man.
"As far as I'm concerned, Pisco," she nodded and looked around. Akemi discovered me as the first person in the room. I don't know if she was interested or if she was just doing it because of the accident.
"Who is that? Do you know him?", The man next to her wanted to know.
"Partly ..." the young woman muttered. I think Akemi wanted to keep me out of contact with the organization at all costs, but of course it didn't work out.
"Hey boy, do you have a minute?" Pisco called to me. I didn't have to be told twice, I immediately went to the two of them and looked at them.
"What do you want from me?" I wanted to know. I tried to be polite, but not too hard either, after all, the organization shouldn't believe I was a nice guy.
"Are you good at shooting?"
"Shall I prove it?" I asked the counter-question. I took the gun out of my pocket, found a target in the room, and started firing. This was better than telling him how good I could shoot, so Pisco could see everything for himself."What's your name, my boy?" He asked me.
"I'm not your boy and secondly I'm called Dai Moroboshi," I said.
"I think the world will have a lot more plans for you. Are you not interested in coming with us. We offer you everything you want and you can turn your hobby into a career," the man grinned. He thought he was the superior of the two of us, but he wasn't, but I let him feel.
"That doesn't sound bad. I think I would like to take part, but only if I can really turn my hobby into a job," I grinned. I finally had her where I wanted her, but one thing gave me a headache. Akemi had apparently also been a member of the organization and I couldn't imagine what reasons she had for that.
"Then come with us. We'll show you the place where your dreams will come true," said Pisco and looked at Akemi. The whole time she was silent, but her gaze was on me. “I'll get the car, wait a bit and then come out.” With the words Pisco made his way outside and I stayed in the room with Akemi.
"You should go, far from here. Don't let yourself be drawn into this," Akemi suddenly began to speak. It seemed important to her that I not join the organization, but I couldn't tell her that it was exactly what I had to do, either. Nobody was allowed to know who I actually was and that this had been planned for a long time.
"I can take care of myself quite well," I replied a little harshly. It wasn't supposed to sound like that, but it was the only way to keep her from sticking to her point.
"Dai, please take care. This is not a game and I mean it pretty seriously. I know what I'm talking about ..." Akemi muttered to me. How much I believed her, it hadn't been a game for me either."I know ... we should go outside," I said and just walked past her. It was just better that way, if she had talked to me any longer, I don't know what would have happened then. Maybe I would have given in, but maybe I would have reacted angrily and turned them against me. In my situation I couldn't allow myself to do that. After spotting the Pisco car, I got in. I had been nice and sat in the back seat, where I wanted to imprint myself with the organization all the way. When Akemi finally got in, it started. Pisco wasn't a fast driver, he was already so slow that sometimes I had the feeling that even a snail was overtaking us. I didn't say anything, it was better that way, because it made it easier for me to remember the route, even if I had to keep repeating inside myself where I was.
"And how is it all going now?" I asked.
"We'll drive you to our headquarters for the first time, then you'll see", the man grinned and drove on. I didn't know what was in store for me, but I could guess, after all, I had heard quite a bit about the organization.
When we arrived at headquarters, the three of us got out of the car for the first time. Pisco went first and Akemi and I just followed. Actually, she shouldn't have been there, but she still wanted to, maybe because she wanted to make sure nothing happened to me or because she just wanted to see how newbies are received.
"Hey, what is he doing here, Pisco," a man called. He had long blond hair and macabre features. I recognized him immediately, he was the one who had already approached me back then about the organization.
"A good shooter, we can use someone like that here. Take care of him, I'll call the boss and tell him everything," said the elder. It seemed like he had more to say here than the other man whose name was Gin.Pisco immediately made his way upstairs, from where he called the boss of the organization.
"The guy looks familiar to me from somewhere," said Vodka, looking at Gin.
"What's your name?" Gin wanted to know from me and I answered.
"I don't know, but no wonder, I'm not really into the names and you can be glad that you weren't one of my victims," grinned Gin. His arrogant grin pissed me off, but I had to keep quiet.
"Now let him go," Akemi hissed.
"Oh ho, what are you doing here, Akemi? Didn't you get a job from the boss or do you want to visit little Shiho again?" Gin asked ironically. He liked to annoy the young woman a little, especially because he knew her weak point. And he took full advantage of this to have some fun himself.
"Leave me alone," Akemi replied. She wasn’t told anything about gin, she had better things to do than argue with him. She just walked past Gin and looked for the way into the labs, as I only found out later. After the woman left, however, Pisco came back to us. He had a funny grin, apparently his sign when he was in a good mood.
"The boss has nothing against it, but we should still test him and wait for his first orders, only then he can become a real member here and if he doesn't manage it, he will be eliminated," said the old man, looking at me. His words sounded very harsh, but I didn't mind. No matter what assignments they gave me, I would do them all and establish myself in the organization.
"Don't worry, I'm not about to screw up any of the assignments," I grinned confidently.
"You can then prove that," said Gin. I felt like I could read his mind, knowing full well that he was speculating that I would give up. I could tell that he liked me, but maybe it was also because my hair was similar to his and would soon be better. He was afraid, afraid that I would take his place in the organization, I told myself at the time.
However, after I had done my first job to the satisfaction of the boss, I became a full member of the organization, even if many other members did not like it and gave me funny looks. I couldn't get off here now, I had to pull it through to the end and wait for us to blow the organization up, but until that came about it was still a long and hard road full of work and assignments that I was responsible for the organization had to do. Fortunately, most of them had been discussed with the FBI and all the innocent people I should have killed were placed in the witness protection program and their deaths investigated with the help of trained FBI agents. Apart from such activities, I had no longer had any contact with the FBI ...
