Duell der Detektive
invitation
My dear detective,
it is not without reason that this letter lies before you. I invite you to Yokohama. Come alone and bring no knowledge or your skills as a detective with you. You will find that the days will be unforgettable. I took the liberty of sending you a car for tomorrow morning, it will pick you up and bring you to the residence. Be prepared ... it won't be fun.
Q. Dorar
"Hmmm ..." Shinichi muttered to himself. He had received letters like this many times before, but every time he got ready it turned out to be a joke, or pubescent teenagers tried to meet him like that. At this thought a slight grin spread across his lips, but immediately it was torn from his dreams.
"Shinichi ... hey Shinichi", Ran called out to him. Shinichi had only been back to normal a few days and just showed up in front of her father's office. Nobody knew how it happened and where he was, but Ran was happy. She didn't ask any questions, at least not yet, he should first relax and regain his strength before she wanted to know everything about him. That morning, she went to see him to see if he was really back, but since he didn't open the door, she managed to get into the house. A little nervous, she went looking for her boyfriend, he shouldn't just disappear again. She breathed a sigh of relief when she found him half reading and half grinning in the library.
"Oh, it's you," Shinichi dismissed her. He was really happy that he was here again and now that Shinichi could be with her, but he soon got back into the old pattern and treated her that way.
"What do you mean, 'It's you'? We had an appointment and I was waiting for you outside. Don't tell me that you forgot that again. Shinichi, you are incorrigible," Ran sighed, slightly angry."Oh that ... I haven't forgotten that," Shinichi grinned and tried to use his charm to explain everything.
"Don't tell me now that you have to leave again," Ran said, slightly sad. She was not at all pleased when he left now. First Shinichi was gone, next Conan and now Shinichi might go again. It broke Ran's heart, she didn't want to lose another person who had meant so much to her.
Ran remembered two things, first of all, that day in Tropical Land where Shinichi disappeared to work on a case and the second was saying goodbye to Conan. The little one had turned up at the detective agency with his parents, he was supposed to come back home and Ran couldn't do anything about that, even if she would have liked to have a friend with her, but she could understand when parents got their son back with them wanted to have. Lost in thought, the girl no longer paid any attention to what Conan was
"No, no, I'm only here for you today," said the boy. "Come on, let's do something together, we haven't done that for a long time," he added as he walked and had to watch with a smile that Ran barely heard him. Maybe he should have been angry now, but on the other hand, he wanted to give her a little time to deal with the whole story. He too made his thoughts that way, they circled all the previous experiences in his life.
He didn't worry about the funny letter anymore, though, everything would be cleared up within the next few days, or tomorrow at the latest. Today he just wanted to enjoy the day with Ran and that as Shinichi Kudo.
