Duell der Detektive

Unexpected visit

After Shinichi entered the villa, as soon as he looked at the floor, he found a pair of pants and a shirt. Dorar had long noticed that the detective was walking around in his pajamas and he found it very inappropriate to be dressed like that. So he had the boy brought something to wear, even if it wasn't what Shinichi liked to wear. The boy couldn't complain because he didn't like it either to save Ran and Kazuha in his pajamas and to solve a few cases or puzzles at the same time. The boy could change his clothes in peace, although he had been expecting Dorar the whole time to contact him to tell him about the next task, but that was not the case.
The stranger did not contact Heiji or Saguru either, which surprised all three. They had no idea what would happen next and so they set out to explore the villa and the entrance a little. As always, Saguru took his notes while Heiji and Shinichi carefully watched the path. Their path inevitably led the three detectives into the large hallway, where guests are usually received by the host or by the servants. All three arrived with a slight delay, but they faced each other nonetheless. Was that what you wanted?
"Hey Kudo, you must have successfully solved your first case," said Heiji. He was really happy for his friend, even if he knew that he would still be his enemy in the course of the game, but he didn't let him feel that and as long as they didn't have to work against each other, they could deal with each other normally.
"As I can see, that also applies to you. I am pleased," replied Shinichi. The two were quite friendly to each other and had spoken to each other normally, but there was a tension in the air that you could literally feel.
"Did you have a difficult puzzle?" Asked the detective from Osaka. He just didn't want to let it be seen that the two now, apparently, had nothing to talk to each other and then carried on simple conversation.
"It actually worked. At least I solved it in the allotted time. A man threw himself off the train after waking up in a tunnel. I should find out why the smoking compartment would have saved his life," the boy explained a brief summary of his case. "What did you have to solve?"
"For me there was a mass death at a party because everyone had drunk the punch, only one survived and I should find out why it was like that," said Heiji, slightly hesitant.
"Let me guess, there was cyanide in the punch, well more in the ice cubes, and one of them survived because he drank faster than the others," said Shinichi. Just like Heiji, the case struck him as quite familiar and that's why he came up with the solution so quickly this time too.
"That's exactly how it was," grinned the Western detective. Then he looked at Saguru and noticed that he was still there. But he would have loved to ignore him, but as long as Shinichi was there, it just didn't work.
"And how was your case?", Heiji asked sporadically. On the other hand, however, he was interested and wanted to know what Saguru had to solve.
"With me, the people were locked in a small room, two of whom died from gunshot wounds and one of them suffocated. I was just supposed to find out that the men were in a submarine that was at the bottom of the sea and that the chances of survival were zero Furthermore, of course, why only two of the men had the gunshot wounds and the third suffocated, but considering that they only had two bullets, the puzzle could be solved quickly, "replied Hakuba.
"Do you always have to worship like that?" Interjected Heiji. Actually, Saguru just wanted to say what he had to do and immediately built in the solution before Shinichi asked about it, but Heiji saw this as showing off and had to make himself known right away."Even if you may have missed it, I'm neither showing off here, nor rolling around. I just said what happened to my riddle and immediately addressed its solution," Saguru threw in immediately afterwards.
Not again, Shinichi told himself at that moment. Although the two had not seen each other and then met again, their different views could trigger another argument.
"Just the way you talk is totally chubby. How can you speak so high-pitched?", Heiji mumbled, shaking his head.
"It was important to my father that I had a good upbringing from an early age. I was taught that even more during my time in England, but as you can see, I'm here in Japan. I long for my homeland, even if I don't look like that, "said Hakuba, while the detective from Osaka just rolled his eyes.
"Please stop, we have much more important things to do here than your argument," Kudo intervened. He had been tired of his friend starting to fight over and over again and failing to see that there was no point except wasting time.
"Kudo is right, I shouldn't get involved in the arguments, I have something more important to do and just so you know, Saguru Hakuba, I'm not going to let anything happen to Kazuha, I'll get her out of there," said Heiji . Saguru could easily know what the western debt detective was up to and why he was so doggedly about the whole thing.
"Should you not make it, then I assure you that I will also do my best to save the two beautiful ladies, just as I will not let something happen to them," Hakuba promised and pulled himself off this only adds to the wrath of Heiji.
Pretty ladies? Kazuha is not a pretty lady for him, this one .... Heiji said to himself, but before he could react, Shinichi pulled him to the side a little so that he could calm down."You should keep a cool head," suggested the boy. And Heiji also realized that it would be best for everyone involved, but also for himself. This time only a nod came from Heiji, he needed his strength and wanted to save it for later.
"Eh ...? What are you doing here?" A voice called out. It came from the direction that led to the southern entrance, in this case the exit of the villa.
While Shinichi rubbed his eyes to see if that was really true, Heiji looked there twice. A man of the older generation came out of the exit, as some like to call him that. But to others he was known as the sleeping Kogoro Mori.
"Uncle Kogoro," Shinichi groaned. Perhaps it hadn't been good that he had spoken to Kogoro as Uncle, as he did then, and knowing the old man it would soon rain in the head. "I mean, Kogoro, you here?" Shinichi corrected himself.
"Snot boy," Kogoro grumbled after noticing Shinichi. He went up to the high school student and grabbed his collar. "What about Ran? Where is she, what did you do to her?" The questions only sprouted out of him, while it almost looked as if he was going to choke Shinich.
It was only through the courageous intervention of Heiji that Kogoro finally let go of the high school student. Kogoro had been angry, very angry, and again it was confirmed. Whenever something in Shinichi's life didn't go as it was normal for a high school student, Ran was in danger too.
"What about Ran now?", The older one wanted to know.
"This Dorar has it, together with Kazuha," sighed Kudo and straightened his shirt after it was so disheveled by Kogoro.
"Waaaaaaaaas ....?"
"How did you get here anyway?" Asked Saguru.
"I got a letter, if I want to know what happened to my daughter, I should come over and help solve a case. There wasn't even a down payment for solving something here, but I would for my mouse leg do everything. And now that I see you, it is high time I was here. If one relies on you ... young detectives ... ", Kogoro mumbled a bit annoyed.
"And what was your riddle about?", Heiji wanted to know.
"What puzzle? I just walked in through the door," grumbled Kogoro. He was just about to make his own way through the large villa when he was held back by Shinichi. He finally explained to him very briefly what this was about, as well as all the details that Dorar gave them.
Kogoro just nodded understanding and gave the high school student a stern look. Understanding would be of no use here, this was about his daughter and she was more important than anything else in the world.
"Now that you know what it's all about, you are more than welcome to help us. It will be a piece of cake together," said Saguru. Even if he said that Kogoro might be a bit too old for this adventure, he didn't want to exclude him right away.
"Definitely not. You don't really think that I need your help to save my daughter. No, no, I'll do that on my own. I'm not a private investigator for nothing and the sleeping Kogoro," Mori grumbled. He didn't want any help with it.
"This is about Ran and Kazuha, we shouldn't rely on going it alone, even if Dorar wants us to," Shinichi sighed. He was sure that he needed the help of the others for the rescue attempt and that Kogoro was wrong with his vanity and his behavior.
"We'll only do this once, for Ran," Shinichi added.
"For Ran," Kogoro agreed. He'd also felt like there was no other choice. "Then we storm the rooms and look for that bastard who has my daughter in his hands."
"We probably won't be able to do that," began Saguru, but was interrupted by Kogoro.
"And if we can. I'll show you," he interjected, looked at a door and ran into it.It had been locked and not even with Kogoro's power when starting up could he break it open.
"That's exactly what I was about to tell you. Even the front door was locked at first, I think it was opened after we were at the other doors and waited until we got the riddles. Maybe these doors are not just locked now, but also locked with a cupboard or a chest of drawers. Running against it, might help, but we would use up our strength very quickly. I would not advise that. We will probably have to wait until Dorar contacts us again and we know how it goes on ", Saguru interjected and looked at Mori.
"Little know-it-all," muttered Kogoro. He wasn't used to someone like Saguru telling him that, usually it had always been Conan, but he suddenly disappeared overnight.
"Saguru is right. We'll still
