Duell der Detektive

Meet the detectives

Shinichi spent his day with Ran quite normally, he no longer thought about which letter he had found in the mail. He didn't care about such post anymore, although he was a detective and his instincts were awakened, but it wasn't the same. As Conan, he had experienced so much, seen so much and realized what was important in his life. The whole time he had to lie to a person and play his 'role'. Over and over again. It really wasn't the same anymore. And it was precisely these thoughts that made it simply impossible for him to spend the afternoon relaxing with Ran, but he did his best, which the girl also noticed. She stayed calm and didn't say that he was changing and that it all seemed too cramped to her. Ran was just glad that she had Shinichi and that he would never leave again.
On the way the two met Sonoko, who then wanted to go to Tropical Land with Ran, Shinichi and Makoto, but with this idea she hit the point of the wound, although she could have guessed it. That's how Sonoko was, she spoke everything from her gut, without thinking about the actions and seeing their consequences. However, she had been lucky and neither of the two took it wrong, much more they started to laugh a little bit at first and when their memories came up, they had been quiet again. Makoto, having noticed this, finally moved Sonoko on, leaving Ran and Shinichi to spend the day alone.
In the evening Kudo brought his girlfriend home, right to the door, where Kogoro was waiting angrily. The sleeping master detective, who hadn't been able to solve a case since Conan, became bitter and drank even more than before. When he saw Ran with Shinichi, he started talking to the boy and cursing him and after Ran was finally in the apartment, he had a rather embarrassing father-daughter conversation with her about boys who just disappeared and then just reappeared. In the meantime Shinichi made his way home, the letter had already been forgotten and when he finally had entry to the villa, he remembered the letter, which he read again.
"Maybe ... no ...", he shook his head. He didn't want to get involved in something so crazy again. This time he wasn't going to make the same mistake he'd made before. Now he put the letter aside on the chest of drawers in the hallway and went to the library, where he devoured the latest crime novel.

The next morning Shinichi woke up sleepily. The doorbell rang and it was far too early for his standards. The holidays had just started and that was a good thing because he still had to get used to his correct shape again.
"Quiet," he muttered softly as he sat up. Now he was halfway awake, even if he would go back to sleep with the next silence that would ensue, but since the doorbell kept ringing, he had to get up after all. In his pajamas he went out of his room and followed the stairs down until he came to the front door. Without worrying about how he looked now, he just opened it and looked at a strange man in a black suit.
"Shinichi Kudo?" Asked the man.
"Yes," nodded Kudo, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. Apparently he would have a new customer today and should take on another case. For a long time he hadn’t accepted such cases personally or clarified personally, but this time it would be different, in his mind, Shinichi was already rubbing his hands. "What can I do for you, what case is it about? Oh come on in," Shinichi fell with the door into the house. He didn't care at all whether the man was really there for a case or wanted something else.
"No, that's not why I'm here," his counterpart answered the question.Shinichi could only be glad that he was no longer little Conan, otherwise he would have had his problems looking up and avoiding the strict eyes of the man in the suit.
"I'm supposed to pick you up. My boss is already expecting you, you got his letter," the man explained. He was the driver of the limousine that was standing outside and was now waiting for Shinichi. This limo was supposed to take Kudo to the meeting point where the mysterious Q. Dorar was supposed to be waiting.
"Letter?" Shinichi asked. He hadn't received a letter, there was a good one, but he just didn't take it seriously and he couldn't imagine that this should now be the person who was supposed to pick him up and bring him to the strange man.
"My boss assured me that you must have read the letter yesterday. Please come with me," said the man. He didn't seem to care whether Kudo had read the letter or not, it hadn't mattered whether he wanted to come with it or not. His instruction was to bring Shinichi Kudo to the property and no more, no less either. The man now stood a little to the side so that Kudo could walk out the door.
"Are you here about that Dorar?" Shinichi asked. He hadn't planned to just go along, for the first time he had to know what was being played here.
"Yes and now get in, time is running out," said the driver and looked at Shinichi's pajamas. "We have something on the property so that you can change, so get in", the last words were more of a hiss, as he had to make sure that Kudo would come with him.
Shinichi didn't really want to do that, but once again his detective skills and senses were awakened. "Well, I'll come with you, but I want to let a friend know beforehand that I'm going with you," said the boy, looking straight into the man's eyes. He surely wouldn't avert that gaze like that, he had already seen far too much in the world for that."Sit down," said the man as he went to his car and opened the door at the back. Now he waited until Shinichi finally got in the back. After this was finally done, the driver sat down in the front and drove off. He had to drive past the Moris detective agency, but he hadn't stopped there. He just kept going.
"Hey, you, stop here ..." Shinichi called from behind to the man in the front of the driver's seat.
There was no answer, the man in the suit just drove on and so that Shinichi wouldn't complain anymore that he wanted to get out of here, he pressed a button in the front and a dark disk went up between the two. Now, obviously for Shinichi, he could no longer hear it, but if he had pressed an upper button, Shinichi would have been loud and clear again.
"Hey you," yelled Kudo. He tried to get out of the car and pulled the handle, but the door just wouldn't open, no matter what he did, the driver had locked the door with one of the front buttons and Shinichi couldn't do anything about it. He had to sit in the back and couldn't even get out or leave a message for anyone. His cell phone was next to the chest of drawers by his bed, all of his devices, which he had gotten from Professor Agasa, were at home and it was even worse that the windows of the car were tinted dark. There was no escape for Shinichi from the car and after he was sure that he was in a hopeless situation again, he wished he hadn't opened the door that morning, then nothing would have happened. Now he had to think about Ran, she had been so happy about his return and now the two would probably not see each other again for a long time.
Shinichi hardly noticed the drive to Dorar's property, although he was looking out the window the whole time and trying to remember the way, but his thoughts had been with Ran the whole time and had to think about how she is now had to feel again. After almost two hours, the drive to the property was over and Shinichi was asked by the driver to get out. He did not have to be told twice and got out. The property had been large, and the mansion, as well as the garden, seemed quite large, much larger than the Kudo property.
"Hey Kudo, are you here too? Is that really you?", Shinichi heard a familiar voice and looked in the direction where it was coming from. "Why are you wearing your pajamas?"
“Hattori, you were also invited here?” Shinichi was happy that he had met a friend here and it was good that the detective of the West from Osaka was there, so at least he didn't feel completely alone and in an awkward situation Brought location. The detective skilfully ignored the question about the pajamas, since the other could finally figure it out for himself.
"When are you back ... you know ... when are you yourself again?"
"That wasn't long ago and I would have informed you about it this week at the latest," replied Shinichi, who almost felt like he was being interrogated.
"And what does Ran say about it? She knows, doesn't she?"
"I'm the first to see her, but don't get any foolish thoughts, she doesn't know anything about the organization or the resources that made me shrink and I don't want her to find out either, because ..." he began Talking to high school students and was quickly interrupted by Heiji.
"... because otherwise she would be in danger. I know and I won't say a word to her. But at least I can now always call you Kudo," grinned the detective of the West. "With Conan it got weird and Ran almost noticed something."
"You were always totally conspicuous, every time I had trouble explaining to her why you call me Kudo", Shinichi raised an eyebrow and showed him that he didn't find it funny at all that Ran was almost behind his secret would have come.
"It's okay, I never meant it badly", Heiji apologized and scratched the back of his head with his left hand."I hate to disturb you in this important conversation, but don't you think it would be better to think about why we are here and who is the host?" Asked a rather familiar young male voice.
"Hey?", Heiji mumbled a little confused that someone was still here. After all, he himself had been there for ten minutes and hadn't noticed anyone. Now he was looking where the voice came from. "That ... that is ... that is ..." he stammered, although he wasn't afraid of the boy.
"Saguru Hakuba, also a detective," the boy finished what Heiji was starting to say. It wasn't meant badly by him, but he thought it would be better to introduce yourself, even if the other two
