Duell der Detektive

Dorar had said almost the same thing on the tape for every detective and now he was in his villa and waited until the first solutions were found.
Heiji had been quite surprised when he heard the riddle, he had his typical grin on his face. He found it easy, far too easy, so he looked for a hack first, which was already costing him the first ten minutes of his time. It didn't bother him, he had been sure that he would solve the riddle without any problems, but he had been happy too soon. After recalling the case, he felt like a blackout, everything he seemed to know he had forgotten. Nothing was left, everything was gone, except for one name: Kazuha. Heiji could only think of her and what Dorar would do to her if he didn't make it. Shaking his head, Heiji looked at the floor. What should he do now?He couldn't think of anything else and if it continued like this he wouldn't solve the case in time. In his inner eye, Heiji saw everything exactly as he saw Kazuha for the first time in his life, then the whole thing with the handcuffs, even when he pulled the chain out of his shirt, he could still feel the whole situation. Back then, the two of them were handcuffed while playing and couldn't get out of this precarious situation for a while, but after that they had been best friends again. He even thought of everything that he had recently experienced with Kazuha. It was an adventure, like the one time when Kazuha stabbed his arm with the siren's arrow, only so that he would let go and she would fall down the slope.
I would never let a girl like you die, Kazuha, he told himself then, but also now. A small smile could be seen on his lips when he imagined how she would stand in front of him to tease him again. It would be almost like when he played Shinichi and Kazuha got in his way. The girl had immediately noticed who it was in the disguise and that annoyed him at the time. Oh yes, this case from back then ... the victim drank his drink in which there was potassium cyanide inside the ice cube ... highly toxic ..., thought Heiji and he had the feeling that he would now know everything again. All of a sudden, he knew how to solve the case.
"Got it," he said and took the small laptop. With a grin he started typing in the answer and then he saw it. He only had four minutes and then his time was up. He had to hurry up and type everything in as quickly as possible. Heiji was already on the last few seconds, not long and then it would be too late.
5..4 ... 3..2 ... 1..0 The time was up and his finger hit the Enter key just in time.It had been close, far too close, but the Western detective had made it anyway, just in time. And if he hadn't, he could already see Kazuha freaking out and screaming. Then the thought occurred to him that he was deliberately losing the game, which he immediately denied with a shake of his head. Not excited, Heiji looked at the laptop screen and waited for an answer from Dorar.
The poison, potassium cyanide, was frozen inside the ice cube. The man drank from the punch, but the ice cubes were still completely hard and therefore not melted. This meant that he could drink the punch and show no signs of poisoning. The other party guests continued to drink into the night, when the ice had already melted and consequently the potassium cyanide had poisoned the punch.
"Bravo, young detective," nodded Dorar and immediately sent him a confirmation of his answer. Grinning, the stranger looked at the screen and watched the three detectives enter the villa. Now the real duel of detectives would begin and this time the conditions would be more difficult.
